Bangka Belitung as one of pepper producing area in Indonesia has to increase quality  and quantity through Good Agriculture Practice (GAP). Petaling Banjar is one of village which apply GAP system. This research aimed to identify condition of implemenation GAP of pepper in Pataling Barat Village, pepper producitvity, and to analyze the effect of GAP implementation to pepper productivity in Petaling Banjar village. The method used survey to 36 farmers as sample. Data analysis used Double Linear Regression, F-test and T-test. The results showed that land selection and harvest and post-harvest handling variables are in “well’ categories. Water management and seed planting variables are in “good” category. Cultivation and pest and disease control management variables are in “enough” category. Generally, GAP implemented by farmers in Petaling Banjar village categorized to “Good”. Pepper production rate is 0,5 kg/plant and pepper productivity is 798,85 kg/ha. Based on F-test, GAP of pepper gives significant effect to pepper productivity. T-test showed that seed planting gives significant effect to pepper production. Double linear regression test showed that seed planting increase pepper productivity highly with partial-coeficient regression value is 1,503, land selection is 1,068, cultivation is 0,956, water management is 0,737, soil management is 0,279, harvest and post-harvest is 0,214, and pest and disease control management is 0,044.

Abstract

This paper aims to analyze the potential for community cocoa development in Bangka Island by determining the main priority factors and calculating the economic potential of the people's cocoa. In determining priority factors using the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method, with 25 farmer respondents whose role is to provide views and determine alternative priority criteria as determinants of future cocoa development in this area. The results of the AHP analysis stated that the main priority as the basis for developing cocoa farming in the future is market security, the second priority is the dissemination of GAP and the third priority is the availability of superior seeds. The results of the analysis of the economic potential of people's cocoa explain that smallholder cocoa in Bangka Island will generate revenue of Rp. per hectare per year if it is cultivated properly.

Abstract

The productivity of white pepper plants and the low quality of yields are the main problems that should be corrected in the management of smallholder plantations in the Bangka Belitung Islands Province. This study aims to determine the factors affecting farmer participation in implementing GAP, as well as how the GAP was implemented.  The study was conducted in 3 districts namely West Bangka, Central Bangka, and South Bangka as a center of white pepper production. The respondents consisting of 142 farmers who applied GAP and 82 non-GAP farmers. By using the logit model, it is found that older farmers, more educated, have more family members, have larger planting areas and farmers who are more active in participating in GAP socialization will have more chances of deciding to implement GAP. The implementation of white pepper GAP for each component, on average ranged from 67 to 95 percent.

Abstract

The diversity of genetic material determines the success of cocoa production. improvement and breeding programs. Enrichment of genetic material for Bangka cocoa can be achieved through exploration and characterization of morphological features or characters of accessions, clones, and/or varieties. To determine the level of diversity of qualitative and quantitative traits. Morphological exploration and characterization was aimed at identifying the diversity of Bangka cocoa as an effort to increase the efficiency of utilization of local genetic material. The research used survey, and direct characterization (purposive sampling). Exploration to obtain a cocoa plant passport consists of accession number, accession name, location of origin, owner's name, age of plant, and land area. Characterization to obtain the identity of qualitative and quantitative characters from leaves, flowers, fruits, and seeds refers to “The Systematic Description of Cacao Clones. The results of the exploration-characterization obtained 29 accessions of cocoa from Bangka, which had very diverse morphological characters. Diversity is evidenced by wide phenotypic variability even though it has narrow genetic variability, and the similarity level of some accessions is quite low, namely <50%.

Abstract

Rubber plants are export commodities that can contribute to efforts to increase Indonesia’s foreign exchange. Rubber, as a leading commodity, has been carried out for a long time by the people of the Bangka Belitung Islands Province as a source of income. Rubber farmers in Indonesia, one of which is in Bangka Regency, namely Kemuja Village, almost all farmers use alum as a rubber coagulant. Based on government regulations, SNI Bokar has set one using coagulants such as Asam ant or Deorub. The people of Kemuja Village once used the coagulant, but the situation did not last long. Various perceptions of farmers on the use of coagulants influence this. This study farmers’ perceptions of using alum coagulants in Kemuja Village, Mendo Barat District. This research was held on November 2021 to June 2022. This study uses the variable perception of 3 indicators: attitudes, interests, and expectations. The research method used is the survey method, which uses the Non Probability Sampling method. The determination of respondents has been carried out intentionally and purposively among as many as 35 respondents. Primary data collection techniques were obtained from interviewing respondents using questionnaires. The method of data analysis used descriptive analysis with a Likert scale. The results showed that the farmer’s perception index score was 66.3 percent, which was positive, consisting of 66.5 percent of attitude indicators perception, 67.4 percent interest, and 64.9 percent hope of using alum as a rubber coagulant.
