Abstract

In rural areas, water supply is needed for agricultural, livestock, and fishery activities. In this problem a pump with the right technology, efficiency, and economy is needed so that its management does not depend on fuel and electricity. As a solution to this problem is the use of a hydraulic ram pump. Hydram pumps are an alternative in distributing water from low places to high places. This study aims to design a hydraulic ram pump at Cemping Ground. In this study, the main system is a hydraulic ram pump (hdyram pump) which can drain water from a low place to a high place without using electricity. The flow capacity produced by this pump at a height of 5 meters is 0,000057 (m3/s) or 0,057 (liter/s), the flow rate produced by this tool is 0,00072 (m/s), the efficiency of the hydraulic ram pump produced is 75,83 %, it takes 58,26 minutes per day to meet the 200 L water requirement, for the stress that occurs in the pipe is 0,0554 N/mm2 and for the strain that occurs in the pipe is 0,0000185.Keywords: Alternative, Tool, Design, Pump, Hydraulic

Abstract

Energy needs continue to grow as the industry develops and the world's population grows. The growing need for fuel oil is causing fewer crude inventories. So we did research on Cpo Analysis, Phosphoric Acid And Fire Soda In Lieu of Fuel Oil (Fuel) Diesel Engines With Mixed Variations 98%, 1%, 1% And 95%, 2%, 3%, And 95%, 3% 2%  Using  Calorific  Testing. Go  to  this  study to  find  out  the  calorific  value  and combustion  rate  of  the  biodiesel  ed. The  results of  the  study  in  three  biodiesel experiments that were most effective for use were shown in the trial to three CPO 95%, 3% posephuric acid and 2% fire soda with a combustion rate of 0.309 gr/min within 30.42 minutes with a final temperature of 57oC. In the three most effective biodiesel experiments to use, three CPO 95%, 3% asamposfat and 2% soda api witha calorific  value  of  8208.39  cal/gr  with  a  final  temperature  of  57oC. In  the manufacture of biodiesel that affects from the mixture of chemicals as much as soda fire will be better and the less phosphoric acid it will be good. Keywords: Biodiesel, Calorific Value, and Combustion Rate

Abstract

The scarcity of fuel oil (BBM) that occurs due to the limited amountr. Therefore, alternative energy is needed to overcome these problems, one of which is the use of plastic pyrolysis oil on pressure cookers ini the household sector among the lower class of society. The purpose of this study was to determine the performance of a pressurized stove using pyrolysis oil and kerosene as fuel. The method used in this research is an experimental method by making pyrolysis oil and mixing kerosene, taking personal data directly with several variations of the mixture. The results of the research on the performance of a pressurized stove by heating 2.5 liters of water show that the most efficient use of fuel ini a mixture of 80% kerosene and 20% pyrolysis oil produces the highenst average temperature of 349 degrees Celcius, maximum flame height of 26 cm, the fastest water boiling time is 10:46 minutes by using at least 130 ml of fuel.Key words: Alternative fuel, pyrolysis, kerosene, performance

Abstract

Air pollution is caused by the activities of motorized vehicles that emit exhaust gas emissions, including CO, CO2, HC, NOX, SOX, and particulates. The purpose of this study was to determine how the effect of fuel variations on the time of fuel consumption and exhaust emissions on motorcycles and to find out how the composition of mixing premium fuel with ethanol affects the time of fuel consumption and exhaust emissions. This study uses 4 types of fuel, namely premium, pertalite, E-5, and E-10 and tested using 3 variations of throttle openings. From the test results, it is found that the most fuel consumption is found in the wide throttle opening on premium fuel = 0.77 L/h. For the results of the lowest CO and HC exhaust emissions found in the wide throttle opening on the E-10 fuel where the emission value of CO = 1.98% and HC = 1425 ppm. So it can be concluded that in comparison with the time of fuel consumption, the higher the throttle opening, the faster the fuel consumption will be and for exhaust gas emissions, the higher the throttle opening, the lower the CO and HC emission values. Mixing premium fuel with ethanol can make the fuel consumption time slower than pure premium and can also reduce the content of CO and HC exhaust emissions.Key words: Fuel, Exhaust emissions, Fuel consumption

Abstract

Energy needs continue to increase in line with the increasing population, while fossil energy is very limited and has a negative impact on the environment. Therefore, alternative energy sources such as wind energy are very important to be developed. This study observes the effect of the number of turbine blades and blade length on the rotation and current output. The study was conducted experimentally using the 2, 3, and 4 number of blades, while the length was varied from 10 cm, 15 cm and 20 cm. The blades performance is compared by measuring the blade rotation and current generated from an electric dynamo connected to the blade rotation. We also carried out several variations of wind speed for each number and length of the blade. The results showed that the number of blades 3 and 4 produced almost the same electric current and rotation while the number of blades of 2 was much smaller. It can also be seen that the blade length of 15 cm gives a large rotation followed by a length of 20 cm and 10 cm.Keyword: Windmill, blade length, performance

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to know the data of solar radiation intensity that will be used in the utilization of solar energy. The tools and materials used in this research are Solar Power Meter, HP android, laptop, and thermometer. From the results of research can be concluded some things that data about the intensity of solar radiation can be obtained by using two methods of direct measurement and theoretical calculation. Solar intensity data obtained in this study by taking the average value of data research for a month exactly month march 2018, then obtained value for the measurement directly with the highest value of solar radiation intensity data is at 11:30 with the sun radiation intensity value of 666 W/m2 and the lowest value of solar radiation intensity data is at 17:00 with the sun radiation intensity value 167 W/m2, while for theoretical calculation then obtained with the highest value of solar radiation intensity data is at 12:00 with the intensity of solar radiation 974 W/m2 and the lowest value of solar radiation intensity data is at 17:00 with radiation intensity value sun 170 W/m2.Keywords: Data of solar radiation intensity, direct measurement and theoretical calculation, result of measurement and calculation.

Abstract

The machining process is a manufacturing process where the main process is to release or remove some of the material from a basic material which can be in the form of a shaft so that it meets the desired shape and quality. The purpose of this study was to determine the value of Unit Herse Power on the Depth  of Cut turning process on medium carbon steel material. The study used medium carbon steel material in the form of a cylinder with an initial diameter of 40 mm and a length of 150 mm. The cylindrical workpiece is turned at a speed of 185 rpm and the depth of cut is varied by 1 mm, 1.5 mm and 2 mm. The results showed that the depth of pressing of the lathe has an  effect on the greater the depth of feeding in the turning process, the smaller the UHP value produced. Where the Horse Power Unit for the highest feed depth is at 1 mm with a UHP value of 1.371091 and into the lowest feed there is a 2 mm feed with a UHP value of 0.685546, and through a lathe rotation of 185 rpm which is given to the workpiece very affect the magnitude of the resulting UHP value where the UHP value is the result of feeding a chisel that is installed or used on a lathe.  Keywords: Lathe process, medium carbon steel, feed depth.

Abstract

Waterwheels become one of the solutions to increase the need for power supplies especially in areas that are not able to reach electrical networks that have sufficient water resources. The research aims to determine the influence of change into the dyeing of the blade and slope of the blade angle to the power and efficiency of the lower flow waterwheel. The manufactured waterwheel model is an undershot type of 16-piece blade. The outer diameter of the Ferris wheel is 0.2 m and the diameter is 0.12 m. Blade is flat in size (0, 04x0,04) m. The Ferris wheel is made up of as many as 3 pieces with a tilt difference of the blade angle of 00 from the shaft, 100 of the shaft, and 200 of the shaft. The results showed that on immersion blade 0.01 m obtained power 0.16 Watt and efficiency 12.24%, in blade dyeing 0.02 m obtained power 0.162 Watt and efficiency 12.42 %, and dyeing 0.03 m obtained power 0.176 Watt and efficiency 13.45 %. While at the slope of a blade angle is obtained by 0.16 Watt power and efficiency 12.24 %, on the slope of blade angle of 100 acquired power 0.302 Watt and efficiency 23.1 %, and at the slope of a blade angle, 200 acquired power 0.447 Watt and efficiency 34.18 %. So it can be said that the more in the immersion blade the greater the power and efficiency of the Ferris wheel, and the more oblique blade angle than the greater the power and efficiency of the windmill.Keywords: Waterwheel, blade, angle, power, and efficiency

Abstract

The distribution system is part of the electric power system. This distribution system is useful for distributing electricity from large power sources (bulk power sources) to consumers. However, in this distribution there are often obstacles such as disturbances in the distribution network system. In general, the good and bad of the electricity distribution and distribution system is mainly in terms of the quality of the power received by consumers. This research was conducted to determine the capacity and demand for electricity used against the load in the city of Kendari and to determine the care and maintenance of the distribution system in the city of Kendari. In collecting data, a field survey was carried out at the research location, namely at the New Kendari 150 KV Substation. At the largest average load occurs in the old city line with a power of 38.734,25. While the peak load and demand factor on each line has a different amount. And the biggest voltage loss occurs in the alolama line of 9,9% and the lowest in the old city line of 3,8%. It can be concluded that on the Kemaraya Line the average load obtained is 38.839,25 with the highest load occurring at 18.00 at 6,068 while the highest demand factor occurs on the Kemaraya Line at 19.00 at 134,5. Abstract

Thermal conductivity is the ability of a materal to transmit heat from one place to another. The value of thermal conductivity is important to determine the type of good heat conductor  and bad heat conductor. But the problem is how to know the value of the thermal conductivity of varios materials.This study aims to determine the value of the conductivity of various solid materials. The test is carried out using the research layout tool. The results of research conducted from various solid materials based on the value of the highest heat transfer area are found in composites with a value of 24.0349 cm2. The largest value of the melting ice flow rate with differential temperature was found in the brass sample with a value of 0.075 gr/s and the lowest in the composite  sample with a value of 0.017 gr/s.  The highest thermal conductivity value is found in the iron sample with a value of 0.358147 W/m k and the lowest is in the composite sample with a value of0.107522 W/m k.Keywords: Conductivity, Heat Transfer Rate, Differential Temperature
