Abstract

Boiler merupakan salah satu komponen yang sangat penting pada instalasi PLTU. Efisiensi boiler secara tidak langsung menggambarkan efisiensi PLTU secara keseluruhan. Salah satu faktor yang menurunkan kinerja boiler adalah tingginya pembentukan akumulasi deposit ash (fouling dan slagging). Kajian ini mengidentifikasi pembentukan fouling dan slaging serta pengaruhnya terhadap kinerja boiler pada PLTU Moramo Kabupaten Konawe Selatan Provinsi Sulawesi Tenggara. Sebagai bahan bakar PLTU Moramo menggunakan batubara jenis lignit dengan nilai gross Calorie Value yang berbeda. Pada kajian ini digunakan 3 (tiga) sampel batubara yang memiliki sertifikat uji laboratorium yang digunakan pada saat boiler beroperasi. Data operasional boiler diperoleh dari ruang Distributed Control System (DCS) monitor. Efisiensi boiler dihitung menggunakan metode tidak langsung (heat loss method). Dari perhitungan indeks fouling ketiga sampel batubara menunjukkan bahwa potensi terbentuknya fouling berada pada kategori rendah hingga menengah, sedangkan perhitungan indeks slagging ketiga sampel batubara yang digunakan PLTU Moramo berada pada resiko menengah, dengan nilai indeks slagging: 2250≤Rs*≤2450. Efisiensi boiler rata – rata untuk pengujian hari kedua (batu bara Y) lebih tinggi dibandingkan dua sampel lainnya yakni 79.72%.

Abstract

Friction stir welding (FSW) merupakan proses pengelasan yang inovatif dikenal sebagai proses pengelasan solid state. Dalam penyambungan pengelasan TIG dan MIG memiliki kekurangan dibanding pengelasan FSW yaitu, distorsi cukup besar dan adanya gas yang menyebabkan lingkungan tercemar. Metode FSW juga memiliki kekurangan yaitu meninggalkan lubang dan membutuhkan pencekaman yang kuat. Untuk itu tujuan FSW dengan metode Dynamically Controlled - Low Stress No Distortion (DC-LSND) dan Transient Thermal Tensioning (TTT) dapat menurukan distorsi. Konsep kerja FSW yaitu benda dijepit kemudian digesekkan dengan kecepatan tertentu sehingga timbul panas. Karena panas akibat gesekan, material logam tersebut akan meleleh dan menyatu setelah melalui proses pendinginan. Saat proses pencairan logam dengan gesekan terjadi, tekanan arah aksial diberikan. Pengujian dilakukan pada dua spesimen yaitu tanpa perlakuan dan kombinasi TTT+DC-LSND dengan jarak tool-pendingin 40 mm. Hasil pengelasan dilakukan pengujian diataranya uji komposisi, uji kekerasan, kekuatan tarik, dan mikro struktur. Hasil pengujian kedua sepesimen didapatkan bahwa metode dengan perlakuan TTT+DC-LSND mampu meningkatkan nilai kekuatan mekaniknya. Penggunaan metode DC-LSND memberikan hasil pada peningkatan kekerasan pada daerah las. Sebagai kesimpulannya, hasil yang paling optimum pada proses FSW yaitu perlakuan gabungan TTT+DC-LSND.

Abstract

Elektroplating adalah proses pelapisan logam dengan logam lain dengan cara elektrolisa, seperti pelapisan seng, galvanis, perak, emas, kuningan, tembaga, nikel dan krom. Aluminium adalah salah satu material yang banyak diaplikasikan pada industri karena sifatnya yang ringan dan tahan korosi. Namun untuk mempertahankan integritas strukturalnya ketika terkena atmosfer, korosi dangkal dapat terjadi sehingga dapat merusak permukaan dan menurunkan sifat kekerasannya. Oleh karena itu, tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh arus listrik terhadap perubahan ketebalan, penambahan berat dan kekerasan lapisan pada aplikasi pelapisan Nikel-Aluminium dengan proses elektroplating. Proses pelapisan Aluminium-Nikel dilakukan pada rangkaian skematik bak elektroplating yang berisikan cairan elektrolit. Adapun variasi arus listrik yang diberikan adalah 10 Amper, 14 Amper, dan 18 Amper dengan waktu proses pelapisan adalah 20 menit. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tebal lapisan bertambah dan kekerasan meningkat seiring dengan meningkatnya kuat arus yang diberikan pada proses elektroplating. Nilai kekerasan tertinggi 234 kg/mm2 pada arus listrik 18 Amper dan kekerasan terendah 146 kg/mm2 pada arus listrik 10 Amper.

Abstract

The need for spices continues to increase in line with the increasing population of the growing industrial world that requires raw materials from nutmeg seeds, the parts that are utilized in nutmeg fruit are mainly the pulp, seed shell, seed coat and fruit flesh. The design of this dryer aims to increase effectiveness and efficiency in the process of drying raw materials in the community. This tool uses an electric motor as the prime mover and uses a panel box as the center of the electrical control device, which contains several components such as a regulator to control the motor speed, an MCB to protect the voltage and other components. The results of testing this tool were quite good, the results of testing the ingredients at a weight of 200-205g in 75 minutes at a temperature of 100°C left a moisture content of 15.62% in nutmeg and 39.28% in candlenut. The cashew test was carried out at a weight of 200-205g in 50 minutes at a temperature of 72.2°C leaving 50.49% moisture content. The cassava test was carried out at a weight of 200-205g in 25-29 minutes at a temperature of 122°C leaving 60.90% moisture content. Testing on corn cobs was carried out at a weight of 200-205g in 25 minutes at a temperature of 119°C with a final weight of 124g. This tool has advantages, namely, it can save drying time, temperature control is easy to do and this tool has been equipped with a current safety device in the event of an electric short circuit. This tool also has drawbacks, namely, it cannot dry raw materials in the form of sheets, slices and powders. The drying tube is not long enough, so a manual continuous cycle is required, for raw materials that require drying time exceeding 25 minutes and requires more electric power.

Abstract

The purpose of this UHO Internal Community Partnership Service is to provide effective technical guidance on the operation of the brick making machine and transfer knowledge about the procedures for making brick making machines using a pneumatic system to the brick making community groups in Puasana Village, North Moramo District, South Konawe direct socialization and technical guidance for the operation of pneumatic molding machines. The results obtained by the group of brick-making people are an understanding of the basics of brick-making tools and the ability to operate a brick-making machine with a pneumatic system.

Abstract

A composite is a material structure composed of two or more combinations of constituents combined macroscopically, where the two combinations do not dissolve each other. The first phase is called reinforcement, while the second phase is called matrix. This study aims to analysis the tensile and bending strength values of coconut fiber reinforced composites with a sequence of layers of quasi-isotropic fiber laminates. Experimental studies were carried out on polyester resin composites reinforced with coconut fiber in the fiber layer sequences of [0°/0°/0°], [+45°/0°/-45°] and [+60°/0°/-60°]. Tensile test specimen standards refer to ASTM D-3039 and bending test standards refer to ASTM D-7264. The results of the blistering test obtained a maximum stress of 18.3298 N/mm2 in the fiber layer sequence [0°/0°/0°] and a minimum stress of 10.8966 N/mm2 in the fiber layer sequence [+60°/0°/ -60°]. Meanwhile, the bending test results showed that the maximum bending stress was 76.065 N/mm2 in the fiber layer sequence [0°/0°/0°] and the minimum stress was 30.256 N/mm2 in the fiber layer sequence [+45°/0°/-45 °].

Abstract

Mastercam adalah sistem perangkat lunak untuk pemrograman CNC terbaik yang berbasis perametrik untuk membantu para penggunanya di seluruh dunia. Dimana, Software ini dapat digunakan untuk merancang sekaligus membuat program CNC untuk berbagai mesin. Langkah-langkah yang dilakukan meliputi pembuatan model 3D solid atau Surface menggunakan perangkat lunak CAD lainnya, pembuatan gambar kerja, pembentukan Part Ribs menggunakan fasilitas Wireframe, Extrude, Solid, dan finishing yang detail. Selain itu, juga membahas tentang simulasi pemakanan part di dalam Software Mastercam, dimana dapat dilakukan dengan menggunakan fasilitas seperti Vericut, yang dapat mensimulasikan operasi pemakanan hingga 5-axis milling, drilling, dan wire EDM operations, serta turning dan combination mill/turn machining. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang didapatkan, Software Mastercam merupakan Software yang sangat di sarankan dalam pembuatan produk serta ingin menampilkan Simulasi pemakanan dengan akurat dan efisien.

Abstract

Thematic KKN is a form of community empowerment to increase economic value and shape the character of an entrepreneurial spirit. This service partner is Puasana village, North Moramo District, South Konawe. The partners' problems are (1) the community in Puasana village has not yet implemented corn sheller technology in processing animal feed (2) the target audience partners still have low knowledge and skills in processing animal feed. The method for carrying out service activities consists of socialization, presenting material and demonstrating corn shelling tools to the target audience. The results of this activity are as follows: first, the community is enthusiastic in participating in a series of service activities starting from preparation to testing the tool. Second, the public understands the technology of corn shellers, starting from the working principles, tool components and operating mechanisms. Third, the spirit of entrepreneurship is increasing as measured by the attendance level at each meeting reaching 95%. Keywords: Corn sheller technology, .

Abstract

The aim of the community service activity is to effectively provide technical guidance to the community, especially the farmers in Puasana Village, North Moramo Sub-district, on the creation, operation, and maintenance of the Crab Shell Waste Chopper Technology. Additionally, it aims to transfer knowledge about the procedures for manufacturing, operating, and maintaining the Crab Shell Waste Chopper Technology in Puasana Village, North Moramo Sub-district, Konawe Selatan Regency. The method employed involves field visits, technical guidance, and the evaluation of activities conducted for the community. The results of the community service activity show that the community is well-informed and understands effectively the mechanisms for manufacturing, operating, and maintaining the crab shell waste chopper device used for livestock feed production. Furthermore, the evaluation provides a comprehensive understanding of the impact and sustainability of the crab shell waste chopper technology program in Puasana Village. These results can be used to enhance the program, ensure the continuity of innovation, and provide lessons for other areas interested in adopting a similar approach.

Abstract

A car wash is a facility used to clean the outside and inside of a car, which can be done manually and automatically. The use of an automatic system allows car washing to be faster than a manual washing system that still relies on human labor. The car washing machine pre-design article provides an overview of automatic car washing pre-design. This planning uses the Autodesk inventor application with 6061 aluminum material with a design size of 80 mm × 80 mm × 5 mm. In this plan, the planned water requirement is 300L/car, where the nozzle radius r1 = 25 mm, r2 = 10 mm, and nozzle pressure of 24,410 Pa with 24 nozzles. Electric power is used at 1310 watts where the pump pressure is 34,872 Pa. All frame loads and other supporting components were analyzed using Autodesk InventorTM software. The maximum stress and strain, deflection and safety factor of the frame were also analyzed. This article presents the design of the controller system using Arduino. The general design of the water circulation system is also shown in the design proposal of this machine.
