Abstract

Ultisol is a potential acid mineral soil for the development of agricultural crops with an area of 45.8 million hectares, but has problems of soil acidity, low content of C-Organic, nitrogen, phosphate and potassium, but this can be overcome by applying fertilizers. This study aims to determine the effect of various types of organic matter on C-Organic and the growth of mustard greens. This research was conducted on Field II of the Faculty of Agriculture, and sample analysis was carried out at UPT. Halu Oleo University Integrated Laboratory. The study used a randomized block design (RBD) consisting of 9 treatments, namely TB = without organic matter, SI = cow manure 75 g polybag-1, SII = cow manure 150 g polybag-1, AI = chicken manure 75 g polybag -1, AII = chicken manure 150 g polybag-1 , KI = goat manure 75 g polybag-1 , KII = goat manure 150 g polybag-1 , HI = compost vegetation komba-komba 75 g polybag-1 , HII = komba-komba vegetation compost 150 g polybag-1.The results showed that the provision of various types of organic matter was 0.62%. As for the results after administration of various types of organic matter with various concentrations continued to decrease successively in the treatment TB, SI, SII, AI, AII, KI, KII, HI, namely 0.26%, 0.28%, 0, 32%, 0.34%, 0.40%, 0.52%, 0.54%, 0.60%, and after that there was an increase in the HII treatment, 0.78%, with a dose of 150 grams. Application of cow manure, chicken coop, goat coop, and komba-komba vegetation compost had an effect on the height of the mustard plants. Keywords : C-Organic, Mustard Plant, Ultisol.

Abstract

Different soil types have varying soil fertility potentials, which contribute to the crop yields obtained. The aim of this study is to analyze the characteristics of soil pH, organic carbon (C-Organic), and cation exchange capacity (CEC) and to determine appropriate management practices for corn cultivation on two different soil types in Unit Pemukiman Wuna Village, Tongkuno District. The method used in this study was a free survey method utilizing minipits for each soil type. Soil sampling was conducted using a composite method, where soil samples were taken from three points for each soil type at depths of 0–30 cm (topsoil) and 30–60 cm (subsoil). The soil from each layer was then composited, and approximately ±1 kg of soil was taken for laboratory analysis to determine its pH, Organic-C, and CEC levels. The results showed that the chemical properties of soil type 1 (Alfisol) had a lower pH than soil type 2 (Mollisol), with values of 5.02 and 5.24, respectively. Similarly, the CEC analysis indicated that soil type 1 had a lower CEC compared to soil type 2, with values of 5.16 and 5.20 me/100 g, respectively. However, in terms of soil organic carbon content, the analysis revealed that the Organic-C level in Alfisol was higher than in Mollisol, with values of 5.66% and 3.47%, respectively. Appropriate management practices for corn cultivation require efforts to increase soil pH and CEC through liming and zeolite application. Additionally, to maintain pH, C-Organic, and CEC levels, blanket herbicide application should be avoided, and excessive use of chemical fertilizers should be minimized to sustain soil health and land sustainability

Abstract

Soil fertility is the ability of the soil to provide nutrients in balanced amounts for plant growth and production. Land cultivated for agriculture has varying levels of fertility. Proper soil management is an important factor in determining the growth and yield of cultivated plants. This study aims to describe the status of soil fertility and recommend the direction of fertilization for patchouli plants in Karya Mulya Village, West Kulisusu, North Buton. This research was conducted from December 2022 to February 2023. The method used in this study was a free survey method based on the location of the patchouli plantation. Sampling was carried out at a depth of 0-20 cm. The samples taken were analyzed in the laboratory to assess pH, organic C, available P, available K, CEC, and KB. The results of the study showed that the pH was classified as slightly acidic with a value of 6.1-6.3, low to moderate organic C with a value of 1.04-1.58%, low available P with a value of 5.98-7.59 ppm, low to moderate available K with a value of 0.29-0.42 me 100 g⁻¹, medium and high CEC with a value of 19.74-25.23 me 100 g⁻¹, low to moderate KB with a value of 38.68-43.61%. Based on the results of the assessment of soil chemical properties, it can be concluded that the level of soil fertility at the research location is low. Fertilization efforts are needed to increase the fertility of patchouli planting soil by paying attention to the right aspects in fertilization.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of feeding bokashi cow manure on the chemical properties of Alfisols soil and the yield of Muna's local corn (Zea Mays L.). This study was conducted at the Land Experiment Garden II Faculty of Agriculture of Halu Oleo University, and the sampling of Alfisol soil was conducted in Puwatu Village, from March to June 2022. This study used a Randomized Group Design (RGD) method with 4 bokashi cow manure treatments: B0 = without bokashi cow manure (control), B1 = 200 g polybag-1, B2 = 400 g polybag-1, B3 = 600 g polybag-1. The research results show that the treatment of bokashi manure improves the chemical properties of the soil. Treatment of B3 gives the highest values for organic-C (0.34%), total-N (0.11%), available-P (25.66 ppm), KTK (53.19 me/100g) except for available-K and affects plant height, stem diameter, fruit weight and seed count. Abstract

This study aims to understand the effects of biocharcoal and manure interactions on pH, CEC, C, K soils and the growth and production of red pepper plants on ultisol soils and to understand the independent effects of biocharcoal charcoal and chicken manure on pH, CEC K, C, K soils and growth and production The red chili pepper plant in the soil of the ultisol. This study used the Randomized Group Design (RDB) in factorial patterns. The first factor, Biocharanganese consists of three levels: B0 = without the addition of biocharangium B1 = 300 g polybag-1 B2 = 600 g polybag-1 The second factor is that chicken manure consists of 3 levels, namely A0= without giving chicken manure, A1=100g polybag-1, A2=200g polybag-1. Research results show that the delivery of biocharcoal and chicken manure can improve the chemical properties of pH, CEC, organic-c except available-k are available and have no effect on the growth and production of red chili peppers while for the growth and production of red chili peppers only self-supplying chicken manure has a better effect on the plant height, number of branches, number of fruit and weight at 200 g of polybag-1 (A2).Keywords: soil chemistry, charcoal biocharcoal, chicken manure, red pepper, Ultisol
