Abstract

ABSTRACTThe slum areas at Nambo sub-district are divided into Pudai - Nambo Cluster (Bungkutoko, Petoaha, Nambo Kelurahan) and the Tondonggeu - Sambuli Cluster. The typologies of settlements in Nambo sub-district are lowlands and water banks. This study aims to analyze the priority scale, to determine the concepts and strategies for slum areas improvement in Nambo sub-district. The method used in this research is quantitative descriptive by assigning a weighting analysis of slum area priority indicators based on Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing Regulation No.2 / 2016. The results show that the slum area in Nambo sub-district is divided into two priority classifications, namely moderate slum, illegal land status and other considerations of high and moderate slum, illegal land status and other moderate considerations. Based on the slum conditions in Nambo District, the concept / treatment pattern of slum area is towards resettlement, with formulation strategies; land preparation, rehabilitation / improvement of residential buildings, rehabilitation / improvement and rehabilitation of settlement infrastructure / improvement of fire protection.Keywords: Slum Area, Concept,  Nambo, Priority, StrategyABSTRAK Kawasan permukiman kumuh di Kecamatan Nambo terbagi atas Kluster Pudai – Nambo (Kelurahan Bungkutoko, Petoaha, Nambo) dan Kluster Tondonggeu – Sambuli. Tipologi permukiman di Kecamatan Nambo merupakan dataran rendah dan tepi air. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis skala prioritas, menentukan konsep dan strategi penanganan kawasan kumuh di Kecamatan Nambo. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu deskriptif kuantitatif dengan menggunakan analisis pembobotan indikator prioritas kawasan kumuh berdasarkan Peraturan Menteri PU No. 2 Tahun 2016. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kawasan kumuh di Kecamatan Nambo terbagi atas dua klasifikasi prioritas yaitu kumuh sedang, status lahan tidak legal dan pertimbangan lainnya tinggi dan kumuh sedang, status lahan tidak legal dan pertimbangan lain sedang. Berdasarkan kondisi kekumuhan di Kecamatan Nambo maka konsep/ pola penanganan kawasan permukiman kumuh yaitu permukiman kembali. Rumusan strategi; penyiapan lahan, rehabilitasi/perbaikan bangunan hunian, rehabilitasi/ perbaikan infrastruktur permukiman dan rehabilitasi/ perbaikan proteksi kebakaran.Kata Kunci : Kawasan Kumuh, Konsep, Nambo, Prioritas, Strategi

Abstract

Kegiatan Pengabdian Masyarakat Terintegrasi KKN Tematik ini bertujuan mendekatkan teknologi budidaya tanaman sayuran-ikan secara vertikultur-aquaponik kepada masyarakat sasaran yaitu Dharma Wanita Persatuan Program Pascasarjana Universitas Halu Oleo), sehingga mereka dapat mengembangkan secara mandiri teknik ini di lingkungan rumah tangga masing-masing. Kegiatan ini melibatkan mahasiswa Fakultas Pertanian dan Fakultas Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan UHO dalam pembuatan demplot sayuran-ikan secara vertikultur-aquaponik dan pengelolaan lingkungan. Metode pendekatan yang digunakan adalah penyuluhan, pelatihan dan bimbingan teknis serta pendampingan teknologi secara langsung pada mitra sasaran. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa masyarakat sasaran merespon positif dan sangat antusias memberikan umpan balik atas materi yang diberikan, terlebih materi yang diberikan masih terbilang baru namun sangat efektif dan efisien jika diaplikasikan pada lahan pekarangan yang sempit. Mahasiswa yang terlibat dalam kegiatan ini juga sangat antusias melaksanakan berbagai kegiatan yang diprogramkan, sebagai upaya untuk mengekspresikan keahlian bidang keilmuan yang didapatkan selama mengikuti perkuliahan.Kata Kunci: Budidaya, Ikan, Organik, Sayuran, Vertikultur-Aquaponik

Abstract

Peanut (Arachis hypogaea L.) is an agricultural commodity that acts as a protein and vegetable oil source, but in Southeast Sulawesi, its productivity is still relatively low. This study aims to determine the effect of giving bokashi tofu waste and phosphate fertilizer on the growth of peanut plants. The research was conducted at the Experimental Field Laboratory II, Faculty of Agriculture, Halu Oleo University, Kendari, from June to September 2021. The study used a factorial randomized block design consisting of bokashi tofu waste with four treatment levels, namely 0, 5, 10, and 15 tons per hectare, and phosphate fertilizers with three treatment levels, namely 0, 100, and 200 kg per hectare. The total combination of treatments was 12, with three replications. Observational data were analyzed using analysis of variance and UJBD. The analysis results showed that the interaction of bokashi with tofu waste and phosphate fertilizer had a significant effect on plant heights 28 and 35 DAP, stem diameter 21 DAP, leaf area 14, 21, and 28 DAP, and root loss ratio. Bokashi tofu waste independently significantly affected plant height, stem diameter 28 DAP, leaf area, and root loss ratio. Phosphate fertilizer independently significantly affected plant height at 28 and 35 DAP, leaf area at 14 and 21 DAP, and root loss ratio. The combination of 15 tons of tofu waste bokashi per hectare and 100 kg of phosphate fertilizer per hectare was the best treatment for increasing the growth of peanut plants.

Abstract

Soil and water conservation efforts continue to be encouraged, considering the increasing number of openings of oil palm plantations that occur in various regions, including Wawolemo Village Konawe Regency. Clearing new land for oil palm planting is generally carried out by land clearing, which has the potential to cause erosion, so soil and water conservation efforts are needed to prevent land degradation, especially the loss of nutrients in the topsoil layer due to erosion. This community service activity aims to provide the community in Wawolemo Village with an understanding of the importance of soil and water conservation. Activities carried out in January 2024 for the farmers/community of Wawolemo Village. The method used was in the form of lectures or counseling and evaluation, where questionnaires were filled out before and after the activity took place. The results of the activity showed that there was an increase in the understanding and insight of the Wawolemo Village community after being provided with education, especially about erosion, soil, and water conservation techniques, as well as environmentally friendly and sustainable palm oil plantation practices based on soil and water conservation. By implementing a soil and water conservation system, smallholder oil palm growers are also expected to be able to save on fertilizer costs, which have been considered quite large, in order to obtain optimal production. Upaya konservasi tanah dan air terus digalakkan mengingat semakin banyaknya pembukaan kebun kelapa sawit yang terjadi di berbagai daerah, tidak terkecuali Desa Wawolemo Kabupaten Konawe. Pembukaan lahan baru untuk penanaman kelapa sawit umumnya dilakukan dengan cara land clearing yang berpotensi menyebabkan erosi, sehingga diperlukan upaya konservasi tanah dan air untuk mencegah terjadinya degradasi lahan terutama hilangnya unsur hara pada lapisan tanah atas karena erosi. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan memberikan pemahaman kepada masyarakat di Desa Wawolemo tentang pentingnya konservasi tanah dan air. Kegiatan dilakukan pada bulan Januari 2024 pada petani/masayarakat Desa Wawolemo. Metode yang digunakan berupa ceramah atau penyuluhan dan evaluasi dengan mengisi kuesioner sebelum dan sesudah kegiatan berlangsung. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan terjadi peningkatan pemahaman dan wawasan masyarakat Desa Wawolemo setelah diberikan penyuluhan terutama tentang erosi, teknik konservasi tanah dan air, serta praktik perkebunan kelapa sawit yang ramah lingkungan dan berkelanjutan berbasis konservasi tanah dan air. Dengan penerapan sistem konservasi tanah dan air, pekebun sawit rakyat juga diharapkan dapat berhemat dari biaya pemupukan yang selama ini dianggap cukup besar untuk mendapatkan produksi yang optimal.

Abstract

Petetea'a Village, North Kulisusu District, North buton Regency has potential agricultural land resources that need to be optimized for use, especially for industrial crop commodities such as field rice. This research aims to classify land suitability classes and determine limiting factors and improvement efforts to support field rice production in Petetea'a Village, North Kulisusu District, North Buton Regency. The method used in this research is a direct observation method in the field taking into account the type of soil, slope, land use and type of geology, while the observation method used is drilling. Data from field observations and the results of soil sample analysis in the laboratory were assessed for land suitability using a matching method with plant growth conditions. Of the research show that the land suitability class for fiel rice commodities in Petetea’a Village, North Kulisusu District, North Buton Regency in the quite suitable class (S2), namely in land unit 1, namely in land unit 6 with limiting factors for rooting media, flood danger, land preparation and nutrient retention. The marginal appropriate class (S3) in lan unit 2 has limiting factors in rooting media, land preparation and nutrient retention.land unit 4 is rooting media and nutrien retention, land unit 5 is rooting media and limiting factors in the unsuitable land suitability class (N) in land unit 3 is rooting media and land unit 7 is rooting media and flood hazard. These limiting factors can generally be repaired through efforts to create drainage channels, adding organic materials, planting cover crops on land with a slope of >40 %. This improvement effort increases the suitability class of the land potentially to be quite suitable (S2) on land units 1 and 6, marginally suitable (S3) on land units 2 and 4 and not suitable (N). on land units 3,5 and 7

Abstract

Nickel is an important main resource mineral in Southeast Sulawesi, which has deposited around 97.4 billion tons, and undoubtedly, nickel exports emerged in national and regional economic growth. Mining activities were carried out through topsoil and subsoil stripping, resulting in damage to the soil ecosystem and making it difficult for soil to recover. A study was performed to evaluate the changes in soil chemical properties and the growth of patchouli (Pogestemon cablin Benth) on nickel-mined soil treated with rice husk charcoal (RHC). A randomized block design was applied in this study, including six treatments of RHC with three replications. The treatments were without RHC (control), 1.5%, 3.0%, 4.5%, 6%, and 7.5% of soil weight. Data were analyzed descriptively for soil chemical properties; meanwhile, ANOVA was applied for plant growth. The results revealed that RHC increased soil pH, organic C, CEC, and available P, and conversely, the application of 4.5% of RHC decreased soil Ni and Fe content by 65.43% and 40.47%, respectively. The application of RHC up to 6% increased significantly the plant height and number of leaves as well as the dry weight of patchouli. The present study concluded that the use of carbon-rich soil conditioners such as rice husk charcoal is an imperative measure to restore the nickel-mined soil.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the fertility status of irrigated paddy fields in various types of irrigation networks, as well as its relationship to crop productivity in the rice fields of Lawele Village, Lasalimu District, Buton Regency, Southeast Sulawesi Province. This research was conducted from June to October 2022. The method used is a descriptive method through field surveys and analysis in the laboratory. Sampling was carried out in a moving sequence based on the type of irrigation channel, and soil samples were taken at a depth of (0-20) cm. Soil chemical parameters analyzed were C-organic, total P2O5, total K2O, KTK, and KB. Determination of fertility status is guided by the PPT Soil Research Center, Bogor (1995). Problems that occur in irrigation in Lawele Village, Lasalimu District, are uneven distribution and poor physical condition of irrigation networks, as well as low soil fertility and crop productivity for various types of irrigation. The results showed that the fertility status of irrigated paddy fields on each land irrigated with various types of irrigation networks was very low. Fertility parameters that become obstacles in this soil fertility status are total K, total P, and some soil organic C which causes low land productivity in irrigated rice fields in Lawele Village. This is due to the leaching of soil cations as well as the lack of application of organic fertilizers and NPK by irrigation. Keywords: Fertility, Productivity, Rice Field

Abstract

Ultisol merupakan salah satu jenis tanah yang potensil untuk pengembangan pertanian, namun mempunyai kesuburan tanah yang rendah. Oleh karena itu, pemanfaatan bahan pembenah tanah seperti biochar dan mikoriza menjadi salah satu alternatif untuk menanggulangi permasalahan tersebut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi pengaruh biochar sekam padi dan mikoriza terhadap pH dan P tersedia tanah dan pertumbuhan tanaman jagung. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan acak kelompok pola faktorial yang terdiri dari faktor pertama adalah biochar: B0 (Tanpa Biochar Sekam Padi), B1 (50 g/polibag), B2 (100 g/polibag) dan faktor kedua adalah inokulan mikoriza: M0 (Tanpa Mikoriza), M1 (Mikoriza 15 g/polibag), M2 (Mikoriza 30 g/polibag).  Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa biochar sekam padi berpengaruh secara nyata terhadap pH dan P tersedia tanah, sedangkan mikoriza dan interaksi keduanya tidak nyata. Interaksi biochar dan mikoriza berpengaruh nyata terhadap kolonisasi akar jagung. Biochar dan mikoriza secara mandiri berpengaruh nyata terhadap tinggi tanaman, diameter batang, dan jumlah daun umur 45 HST, sedangkan interaksinya hanya terjadi pada tinggi tanaman dan diameter batang umur 15 HST. Pada akhir pengamatan, tanaman tertinggi dan jumlah daun terbanyak diperoleh pada pemberian biochar dosis 100 g/polibag dan mikoriza 30 g/polibag (B2M2), sedangkan kolonisasi akar tertinggi (76,67%) diperoleh pada perlakuan mikoriza 30 g/polibag tanpa biochar (B0M2). Oleh karena itu, untuk meningkatkan pH tanah dan P tersedia serta hasil jagung disarankan menggunakan biochar dan mikoriza.

Abstract

The study aimed to determine the optimal composition of planting material to enhance the growth of porang seedlings. The study was conducted in the laboratory of the Agronomy Department, Agriculture Faculty of Halu Oleo University, Kendari, and continued in field nursery at Wua-Wua District, Kendari City, Southeast Sulawesi. This research was carried out in two stages: (1) testing at the germination stage in the laboratory and (2) testing at the seedling stage in a field experiment. Kendari City, Southeast Sulawesi, from October to December 2021. Testing at the germination stage in the laboratory used a completely randomized design consisting of six treatments of planting media compositions, namely M0 (soil), M1 (soil + rice husk charcoal; 1;1), M2 (soil + rice husk charcoal + organic fertilizer; 1:2:1), M3 (soil + rice husk charcoal + organic fertilizer; 1:1:2), M4 (soil + rice husk charcoal + organic fertilizer; 1:2:2), M5 (soil + rice husk charcoal + organic fertilizer; 1:2:3). While the test at the nursery stage used a randomized block design, with the same treatments as the treatments at the germination stage. The findings indicated that the composition of planting media significantly affected the growth of porang seedlings. The optimal planting media composition for enhancing the growth of porang seedlings consisted of soil, rice husk charcoal, and organic fertilizer in a ratio of 1:2:3. The increase in plant growth, as indicated by stem diameter, was 133% relative to the control group.
