Abstract

Nutritional problems are complex that are influenced by direct and indirect factors.Nutrition intake, food pattern, and nutritional knowledge are factors that affect nutritionindirectly. Adolescents require good nutrition intake because at that time they areexperiencing growth both physically and physiologically, so inadequate intake will lead toslow growth. This study aimed to determine the relationship between nutrient intake, foodpattern, and nutritional knowledge with the nutrition status of santri at the At-ThayyibahIslamic Orphan Boarding School in Sukabumi. The study design in this study was crosssectional and the sampling technique used was purposive sampling with a total of 76 subjectsaged 13-18 years. From this study there was no significant relationship between nutrientintake (p> 0.05), diet (p> 0.05) and nutritional knowledge (p> 0.05) with nutritional status.

Abstract

Nutritional status in elementary student has influenced by the amount of nutrient intake. Many factors are influencing the nutritional status which were direct factors (nutrient intake and infectious diseases) and indirect factors (food safety, childcare patterns, healthy environment, and access to health services). This study aimed to determine the relationship between the consumption of fast food, calorie beverages, and nutrient intake with nutritional status of elementary student in Syafana Islamic School Primary conducted in October-November 2017. The study design was a cross-sectional with 175 subjects. Places and subjects were selected with proportional random sampling. Data were collected through anthropometric measurements, FFQ, recall 2 x 24 hours, and self-administered questionnaire. Questionnaires were given to subjects to know of characteristics student (gender and pocket money), fast food consumption, calorie beverages, and nutrient intake (energy and macronutrients), and nutritional status. Data were tested using statistical test chi-square. The result of the chi-square statistic test showed that was relation between carbohydrate intake (p<0.05) and protein intake (p<0.05) with nutritional status. There was no relationship between fast food consumption, calorie beverages (p>0.05), energy intake (p>0.05), and fat intake (p>0.05) with nutritional status.

Abstract

Coronary heart disease (cardiovascular) is caused by an abnormal LDL/HDL ratio. LDL and HDL are components of cholesterol which are essential for each cell. The purpose of this research was to know the relationship fat intake, fruit and vegetable intake, and physical activity with LDL/HDL ratio. This study used a cross-sectional method and subjects were selected through accidental sampling with 86 subjects. The results of the chi-square statistic test showed that there were relationships between fruit and vegetable intake, fat intake, and physical activity with LDL/HDL ratio. Abstract

Consumption of snacks with high sugar and low fiber content can cause degenerative diseases at a young age. The purpose of this study was to formulate black rice which was converted into brood and red beans in the form of a snack bar that has a low glycemic index. This study used a completely randomized design with one red bean substitution treatment factor with levels of F0 (0%), F1 (10%), F2 (20%) and F3 (30%). The determination of the best snack bar uses an organoleptic test with semi-trained panelists and a food glycemic index test using the iAUC method. The results showed that the 30 g serving weight of the snack bar contained 140 kcal of energy, 4 g of fat, 2 g of protein, 22 g of carbohydrates, and 2 g of dietary fiber. In addition, the black rice and red bean snack bar has a glycemic index of 35.91% and a glycemic load of 7.9 which is included in the low category. Based on the blood glucose response curve, it shows that the snack bar of black rice and red beans causes glucose levels to tend to be stable and hypoglycemia after 2 hours of blood glucose sampling.

Abstract

Breakfast is an activity of eating food in the morning. Skipping breakfast will lead to snack craving, which impact on excessive calorie intake then cause overweight. Women and men with a high percent body fat will experience a higher inflammatory process than women and men with a normal percent body fat. This study aims to determine the relationship between breakfast habits and percent body fat in adult women in urban areas. This study used a cross-sectional design with the criteria of the research subjects being women aged 19-25 years with low physical activity categories. This research was conducted in September-October 2020 when Large-Scale Social Restrictions were being implemented because the research site was in the red zone due to Covid-19. The research sample was 90 women, data collection on breakfast habits was obtained using a food recall questionnaire. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that breakfast habits are related to percent body fat (p<0.05), but not related to BMI (p>0.05), so it is recommended to get used to breakfast and eat a more diverse breakfast.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis pengaruh Motivasi, Pengalaman Kerja Terhadap Produktivitas Kerja Karyawan secara parsial dan simultan.  Desain penelitian ini adalah kuantitatif deskriptif menggunakan data primer. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh karyawan Departemen Quality Assurance PT. PEB sebanyak 95 orang.  Teknik samling yang digunakan adalah sensus, dengan metode pengambilan data melalui kuisioner. Teknik analisis data menggunakan regresi liner berganda dengan SPSS. Hasil penelitiannya adalah Motivasi berpengaruh signifikan terhadap produktivitas kerja, Pengalaman Kerja berpengaruh signifikan terhadap produktivitas kerja, Motivasi dan pengalaman kerja berpengaruh signifikan terhadap produktivitas kerja.

Abstract

Gayam is one of the foodstuffs in the legume group typical of Indonesia, the less varied processing makes gayam less popular. Nowadays, people are starting to consume plant-based foods, because they are considered to have more health benefits. This makes gayam an opportunity to be reintroduced to the wider community. This study aims to analyze the nutritional content of gayam which has gone through the grinding process to see its potential as a local food ingredient that can provide health benefits. This research uses an experimental laboratory study design with a completely randomized design and sample testing is done in duplicate. The result of this study is gayam that has gone through the process of pressing and sieving with a density level of 80 mess has a carbohydrate content of 74.59%, protein 9.49%, fat 3.62% and fiber 13.79%. When compared to other types of flour on the market, such as rice bran flour, corn flour and other legume flour, gayam has a higher fiber content, thus making gayam a potential functional food ingredient.

Abstract

Background: Adolescents often experience an imbalance between intake and energy expenditure, resulting in the problem of excess nutrition. Unbalanced energy intake and expenditure and lack of nutritional knowledge are the main factors causing over nutrition. The results of research on National Ministry data showed that the nutritional status of adolescents aged 12-18 years who were over-nourished was 19.1% and obesity was 31%. However, the nutritional status of over-nutrition at the provincial level in Banten was 20.9% and obesity was 30%. Purpose: The purpose of this study is to determine the relationship between energy intake, macronutrients, calorie drinks and nutritional knowledge on the nutritional status of adolescents aged 15-18 years in Sukabakti Sub district, Tangerang Regency. Methods: Sample was taken by using Proportional Random Sampling technique as many as 97 samples. The variables studied were energy intake, macronutrients, calorie drinks and nutritional knowledge on adolescent nutritional status. This type of research used quantitative research with Chi-Square analysis test. Results: In this study, there was no significant (P > 0.05) between energy intake (P = 0.827), protein intake (P = 468), fat intake (P = 0.849), carbohydrate intake (P = 0.449), calorie drinks (P = 0.227), and no relationship between nutritional knowledge and nutritional status (P = 0.231). Conclusion: Since adolescent nutritional status is influenced by several factors. not only intake and knowledge, but also influenced by physical activity, infectious diseases, attitudes, parents, environment and many more.

Abstract

Latar belakang: Masalah gizi pada anak usia 10-12 tahun satu diantaranya adalah gizi lebih. Perubahan pola konsumsi pangan seperti tingginya konsumsi makanan berdensitas energi tinggi dan rendahnya konsumsi sayur buah diduga menjadi faktor pemicu tingginya prevalensi gizi lebih pada anak. Tujuan: Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengetahui hubungan densitas energi konsumsi dan densitas asupan protein dan serat dengan status gizi. Metode: Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain cross-sectional, sampel berjumlah 46 anak berusia 10-12 tahun. Data dikumpulkan dengan metode wawancara, pengukuran antropometri dan observasi. Analisis statistik yang digunakan adalah korelasi Spearman. Hasil: Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 4,3% anak dengan status gizi kurus, 69,6% normal dan 26,1% gemuk. Sebagian besar anak memiliki densitas asupan energi dan protein yang cukup namun densitas asupan serat sebagian besar anak dalam kategori rendah. Simpulan: Terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara densitas energi konsumsi, densitas asupan protein dengan status gizi anak.

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus has a significant impact on health and, in the long term, can lead to complications. Women are at a higher risk of developing type 2 diabetes mellitus compared to men. For women of reproductive age, diabetes mellitus can affect reproductive health and pregnancy quality, which may influence the next generation. The study aimed to determine risk factors for type 2 diabetes mellitus in women of reproductive age in Bekasi City. This was matched case control study, involving 72 subjects selected by purposive sampling. The study was conducted at community health centre in Bekasi. Results: There were no significant differences in nutritional status (p=0.083) and age at menarche (p=0.234) of women of reproductive age with T2DM and non-T2DM. Long menstrual cycles increase the risk of type 2 diabetes mellitus by 6.2 times higher than normal menstrual cycles (p=0.005). A history of gestational diabetes in women of reproductive age increases the risk 2.2 times higher for women of reproductive age to experience T2DM in the future (p=0.027). Long menstrual cycles and gestational diabetes are important factors contributing to the increased risk of T2DM in women of reproductive age.
