Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian pada masyarakat ini merupakan sebuah langkah pemanfaatan karya sastra untuk mengedukasi penanaman nilai-nilai moral sejak dini. Nilai-nilai moral dinilai penting untuk diajarkan sebab melihat adanya degradasi nilai-nilai tersebut dalam masyarakat. Hal ini ditandai  dengan kasus kriminalitas yang semakin meninggi, maraknya pembunuhan yang dilakukan oleh orang terdekat korban, dan kasus-kasus lainnya yang disebabkan kurangnya refleksi nilai-nilai moral dalam pribadi masing-masing masyarakat. Tujuan kegiatan ini adalah memberikan pemahaman nilai-nilai moral kepada siswa Sekolah Dasar melalui pembacaan dongeng interaktif serta memberikan motivasi membaca dongeng. Metode yang dilakukan adalah membacakan dua dongeng yang sarat akan nilai-nilai moral didalamnya serta sesi diskusi untuk memberikan pemahamn lebih mendalam tentang nilai-nilai moral tersebut. Untuk memotivasi siswa membaca karya sastra, dilakukan donasi buku dongeng kepada masing-masing siswa dan perpustakaan sekolah. Khalayak yang menjadi sasaran dalam kegiatan ini adalah 40 orang siswa Sekolah Dasar Islam Kecamatan Manggala Kota Makassar. Metode evaluasi menggunakan pre dan post test untuk mengukur keberhasilan kegiatan ini. Dari hasil evaluasi tersebut, didapatkan peningkatan pemahaman tentang nilai-nilai moral seperti jangan memperbudak orang lain, jangan serakah, meminta maaf jika melakukan kesalahan, berbagi dengan sesama, tidak mengulangi kesalahan yang pernah dilakukan, menghindari sikap sombong, tidak mencela kekurangan orang lain, serta menyadari bahwa tiap makhluk diciptakan dengan kelebihan dan kekurangannya masing-masing. Kata kunci: Edukasi, nilai-nilai moral, dongeng interaktif, siswa.   ABSTRACT This community service is a step in using literary works to teach the moral values from an early age. Moral values are considered important to be taught because it seems there is a degradation of these values in society. This is marked by the increase of crime cases, rampant murders committed by people closest to the victim, and other cases caused by the lack of reflection of moral values in the person of each community. The purpose of this activity is to provide an understanding of moral values to elementary school students through reading interactive fairy tales and providing motivation to read fairy tales. The method used was to read two fairy tales that were full of moral values in them and a discussion session to provide a deeper understanding of these moral values. To motivate students to read literary works, fairy tale books were donated to each student and the school library. The targeted audiences in this activity were 40 students from Islamic Elementary School, Manggala District, Makassar City. The evaluation method used pre and post-tests to measure the success of this activity. From the results of the evaluation, it is found that there is an increase in understanding of moral values such as not enslaving others, not being greedy, apologizing if making a mistake, sharing with others, not repeating mistakes that have been made, avoiding arrogance, not criticizing the shortcomings of others, and realizing that each creature was created with its own advantages and disadvantages. Abstract

This study aims to: 1) Know the effectiveness of short story in educating secondary school students in Makassar about bullying at school 2) Know the students responds toward moral values which exist in selected short stories. To limit this study, the researcher focused on the increasing of student’s ability in understanding kinds of bullying, bullying affects, and what they should do in facing bullying at school. The design of this study is quasi-experimental using one group design (pre test and post test). The respondents in this research are 206 students from three (3) of secondary schools; SMP 8, SMP 12, and SMP Islam Athira Makassar. Based on Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test the researcher found the data which 203 students (99%) scoring post-test > pre-test, 3 students (1%) scoring post-test = pretest, and p-value 0,00. It means the p-value­ < 0,05 so Ho was rejected and the researcher concluded that there is significant improvement between pre-test and post-test. Based on interviewing the students responds toward moral values which exist in selected short stories the researcher found that there is positive reception where students are able to classified kinds of bullying, the effect of bullying, and what they should do in facing bullying at school.

Abstract

This research intends to elaborate the effect of mass media abuses through Dellilo’s White Noise. Therefore, the researchers analyzed how the effect of mass media abuses influence the character through the novel. In analyzing this research, the researchers used genetic structuralism approach as the grand theory and concept of mass media as the supporting theory. Moreover, the writer used qualitative method and descriptive analysis method in analyzing the data. The result of this research is the writers finds there are three effect of mass media abuses such as (1) consumerism, (2) drug abuses, and (3) violence.

Abstract

This study presents the development and implementation of an innovative seaweed drying tool specifically designed for the residents of Desa Borongloe, Kec. Pajukukkang, Kab. Bantaeng. Seaweed farming is a critical economic activity in this region, yet traditional drying methods are inefficient, time-consuming, and heavily reliant on favorable weather conditions, often resulting in inconsistent product quality. To address these challenges, an efficient drying tool was designed, constructed, and introduced to local farmers. The implementation of this tool showed a significant reduction in drying time, improved quality of the dried seaweed, and increased income for the farmers. This journal discusses the project's planning, execution, results, and future recommendations for sustainable adoption and scalability.

Abstract

This research aims to discover the emerging translation strategies and the types of translation strategies most frequently used on a website of an academic institution. In finding the data, the researcher employs the descriptive qualitative method by applying the translation strategy theory proposed by Andrew Chesterman in the form of syntactic, semantic, and pragmatic strategies on a website of an academic institution such as the Universitas Hasanuddin website. There are 11 emerging translation strategies on the website; 4 Syntactic Strategies (Literal, Loan/Calque, Transposition, and Phrase Structural Change), 4 Semantic Strategies (Synonymy, Hyponymy, Distribution Change, and Pharaprase), and 3 Pragmatic Strategies (Explicitness Change, Information Change, and Transediting). The result shows that the most frequently used translation strategy is Syntactic Strategies (Literal 60% or 44 data, Loan/Calque 23% or 17 data, Transposition 8% or 6 data, and Phrase Structural Change also 8% or 6 data). Then the second one is Semantic Strategies (Synonymy 7% or 1 datum, Hyponymy 7% or 1 datum, Distribution Change 64% or 9 data, and Pharaprase 21% or 3 data), and last is Pragmatic Strategies (Explicitness Change 8% or 1 datum, Information Change 85% or 11 data, and Transediting 8% or 1 datum).

Abstract

Empati merupakan kompetensi sosio-emosional krusial yang perlu dikembangkan sejak dini sebagai fondasi perilaku pro-sosial dan hubungan interpersonal yang sehat dalam menciptakan lingkungan belajar yang inklusif. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dalam konteks program KKN Tematik Literasi Universitas Hasanuddin sebagai studi percontohan yang mengintegrasikan metode berbasis pembacaan buku cerita dan pembelajaran berbasis proyek taktil kolaboratif untuk menumbuhkan empati pada siswa sekolah dasar. Desain penelitian menggunakan kuasi-eksperimental one-group pre-test-post-test dengan melibatkan 16 siswa kelas VI di SDN Inpres 106 Takalar 1. Intervensi berdurasi tiga jam ini mencakup pembacaan cerita interaktif Kode Rahasia Persahabatan yang menampilkan tokoh anak tunanetra, diskusi terpandu, dan proyek kelompok membuat alfabet Braille. Empati diukur dengan kuesioner 15 item yang menilai tiga komponen: kognitif, afektif, dan pro-sosial. Analisis Paired Samples T-Test terhadap skor total empati tidak menunjukkan perubahan signifikan (t(15) = −1.303, p = .212). Namun, analisis sekunder menggunakan Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test mengungkapkan peningkatan signifikan pada empati afektif (Z = −2.722, p = .006), sedangkan empati kognitif (p = .565) dan pro-sosial (p = .561) tidak mengalami perubahan. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa intervensi singkat berbasis narasi emosional dan pengalaman taktil memiliki potensi khusus dalam menstimulasi empati afektif, meskipun belum cukup untuk mengubah empati secara holistik. Sebagai studi percontohan, penelitian ini juga memvalidasi kelayakan protokol intervensi yang inklusif, sekaligus memberikan dasar empiris bagi pengembangan penelitian lanjutan dalam skala yang lebih besar dan berkelanjutan.

Abstract

UPT SPF SD Inpres Unggulan Toddopuli is one of the strategical schools in Makassar City due to its location which is near to various public fasilities. Therefore, this school is in great demand by the community. Being in great demand by the community becomes one of the factors for the high level of heterogeneity of family backgrounds and behavior patterns of its students. This situation often triggers friction between individuals in the form of bullying between students both among themselves and between grade levels. The lack of knowledge of students and teachers about bullying is one of the reasons this behavior still often occurs in the school environment. Many students have become perpetrators and victims but they do not realize it. Based on this fact, the team of Community Service Program finds the potential of utilizing literary work namely short story as an educational medium to campaign “Stop Bullying” to the students at UPT SPF SD Inpres Unggulan Toddopuli. The method that applied in this community service was field observation that consists of some activities. Firstly, the students were given a pre-test to find out the students’ knowledge about bullying. Then, the students were given the chance to read and to review some short stories which contain the information about bullying. Lastly, the post-test was given to the students to measure the improvement of the students’ knowledge about bullying. The descriptive analysis of the questionnaire data shows that there is an increase on the students’ knowledge about bullying after reading and reviewing the short stories. It is also found that the students are happy to get knowledge about bullying through the short stories because they provide the stories which relevant to the students’ daily lives so that they are easy to understand and fun. Furthermore, the Community Service team also socialized the information about bullying. In addition, the team also created a draft of team that consists of teachers who will be in charge for handling bullying in the school and the programs that should be conducted in an effort to educate the teachers sustainably about the dangers of bullying.
