Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh media pembelajaran Bycard Animalia terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa. Desain yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini pretest-posttest control group design. Data dianalisis dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Hasil yang didapat berdasarkan uji hipotesis pengaruh media pembelajaran Bycard Animalia terhadap berpikir kritis siswa menggunakan SPSS dengan uji Ancova, media Bycard berpengaruh sebesar 14,8%. Disarankan kepada peneliti selanjutnya media pembelajaran Bycard Animalia dapat diterapkan dengan model pembelajaran yang berbasis masalah lainnya dan sebaiknya media pembelajaran Bycard Animalia diterapkan di sekolah yang sudah mempunyai kemampuan akademik yang tinggi agar mendapat hasil yang maksimal.

Abstract

The implementation of food sanitation aims to eliminate the risk of contamination by microorganisms at different stages in the production and processing of food. House fly (Musca domestical) can act as a vector of tyfus disease, other stomach ailments such as dysentery and diarrhea, cholera, and skin diseases. Salt fish processing business is the largest part of traditional fish processing business especially in Senamabah Village, Muara Bengkal Sub-district, East Kutai Regency. Problems that arise from the traditional processing of salted fish with sun drying, have the weakness of one of the fly flies that can damage salted fish products especially during the rainy season. This research is a quasi-experimental research (Quasi Experiment Design). Field research is difficult to carry out randomization. For field research, usually using a quasi-experiment, this study used a Completely Randomized Design (RAL), consisting of 3 treatments with 1 control and 3 repetitions on each treatment. This research is about the effectivity test of pandan wangi leaf extract (Pandanus amaryllifolius Roxb) as Refellent Vegetable in Reducing Number of Flies during the drying process of Salted Fish, concentration 5% after 30, 60 and 90 minutes observation with the average percentage of moisture by 25% decline 55%, concentration 10% after 30, 60 and 90 minutes observation with the average percentage of up to 13% with 77% repulsion and 15% concentration after 30, 60 and 90 minutes observation with percentage of average 6% with 90% resistance.

Abstract

Elderly as vulnerable groups value their independence, and falls can limit their ability to do activity significantly. More than one third of people age 65 and older falls every year and that condition can be repeated. Falls in the elderly are a common health problem experienced by the elderly, a vulnerable group. This is related to changes in the neuromuscular system, which can lead to decreased muscle strength and balance disorders. This community service program aims to provide an understanding of the risk of falls in the elderly and to improve their skills in preventing falls through balance training. Before the educational activity began, a fall risk screening was conducted using the TUGT instrument and the results showed that the majority of elderly people were in the low fall risk category with an average TUGT value of 9.4 seconds (<10 seconds). The activity continued with education on fall risks and prevention conducted through a lecture method equipped with booklet media. Meanwhile, balance exercises were taught using a demonstration method. This activity involved 23 elderly people. Before the education was given, the average pretest score obtained from the 23 elderly people was 71.9%, while after being given the education there was an increase in the posttest score to 94%. The results of observations made during the balance training were that 5 elderly people (21.7%) experienced difficulty in performing crosswalk movements and walking on heels and toes such as instability and feeling unsteady. Although the results of the fall risk screening tended to be low, balance exercises need to be carried out routinely by the elderly so that fall prevention can be carried out early.

Abstract

Permasalahan gizi pada anak usia pra-sekolah merupakan isu penting dalam kesehatan masyarakat karena masa ini termasuk periode emas pertumbuhan dan perkembangan. Ketidakseimbangan asupan gizi dapat menyebabkan berbagai masalah seperti stunting, wasting, maupun obesitas. Kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk melakukan pemeriksaan antropometri dan edukasi gizi pada anak usia dini di salah satu PAUD dan TK di wilayah Yogyakarta. Metode kegiatan meliputi pengukuran tinggi badan, berat badan, serta perhitungan indikator TB/U, BB/TB, dan IMT/U untuk menilai status gizi anak. Sebagian besar anak menunjukkan pertumbuhan normal berdasarkan TB/U (48% normal pada KB dan 81,6% normal pada TK), namun masih ditemukan gizi lebih berdasarkan BB/TB dan IMT/U (20% overweight dan 32% obesitas pada KB; 10,5% risiko gizi lebih, 2,6% overweight, dan 5,3% obesitas pada TK). Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa meskipun masalah stunting relatif rendah, terdapat potensi masalah gizi lebih pada sebagian anak usia dini. Kegiatan ini meningkatkan kesadaran guru dan orang tua tentang pentingnya pemeriksaan gizi secara berkala dan pola makan seimbang sebagai upaya deteksi dini dan pencegahan gizi tidak seimbang pada anak.
