Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to describe the cognitive learning outcomes of students with the application of brainstorming on global warming material in class VII SMP 13 Pekanbaru. This type of research is a pre experiment with the research design is intact group comparison. The subject of the research was VII grade students of SMP Negeri 13 Pekanbaru in Academic Year 2018/2019. The instrument used to collect data in this study was a matter of learning achievement tests. Data were analyzed descriptively to describe student learning outcomes after using the Brainstorming learning method. The results of the analysis of the data obtained are, the average absorptive capacity of the experimental class is higher than the average absorptive capacity of the control class with an average absorbance score of the experimental class 74.31 and the average absorptive score of the control class 65.28. Learning effectiveness refers to the average absorptive score of each class, the experimental class including the effective category and the control class including the quite effective category. Thus the Brainstorming method is effectively applied to global warming material.Key Words : Brainstorming, Learning Outcomes, Global Warming

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to describe students' cognitive learning outcomes in studying physics by using Mobile Augmented Reality-based learning media on the material of the earth's layers and disasters and to determine the differences in students' cognitive learning outcomes between the class that uses Mobile Augmented Reality-based learning media and the class that does not use the Mobile Augmented Reality-based learning media in the seventh grade of junior high school (SMP). The problem in this study is the low student learning outcomes due to the lack of learning media variation so that the students cannot fully understand and become less interested in the learning process. The research was conducted in grades VII A and VII B of SMP Negeri 03 Guguak District in April-December 2021 with a total of 30 students. This type of research is experimental research with Intact Group Comparison design. Class VII B as the experimental class became the class where the learning media based on Mobile Augmented Reality was applied, while class VII A as the control class did not use the Mobile Augmented Reality-based learning media. The data collection technique in this study was collected by giving a posttest to the experimental class and the control class. The data analyses used in this research are descriptive and inferential analysis. The results showed that the use of Mobile Augmented Reality-based media could improve the students' cognitive learning outcomes on the earth's layers and disasters materials with an average percentage of students' absorption is 75% of the students are in the good category and the effectiveness level is in the effective category. The significance value of the T-Test is p (0.010) <0.05, so it can be concluded that there is a significant difference in students' cognitive learning outcomes between the experimental class and the control class. Keywords: Learning Media, Mobile Augmented Reality, Cognitive Learning Result

Abstract

One of the physics materials that is included in the abstract category is optical devices, especially the process of light entering the eye through a lens that cannot be seen directly by humans. The use of learning media combined with virtual reality is an alternative problem by providing visualization of material that becomes concrete in 3D or can be seen in 360°, making it easier for teachers and students in the learning process. This research aims to determine the feasibility of virtual reality-based learning media for optical devices in order to increase understanding of concepts in optical equipment, especially eyes and glasses. Validity testing is carried out by validating the learning media by experts and practicality testing is carried out by testing the media on teachers and high school students. The results of the research show that the average value of the validity test for virtual reality-based learning media reached 87% with valid criteria and while the practicality test by teachers and students obtained an average score of 90% by teachers and 89% by students with practical criteria so that the media Virtual reality-based learning is suitable for use to help the learning process in schools. Based on the validity and practicality analysis, the media can be used in real learning processes and can be tested further regarding its effectiveness.

Abstract

The learning media developed based on PowToon in global warming material for grade XI students high school. The purpose of this study was to design, analyze the feasibility, and assess the students responses to PowToon based learning media on global warming material. This type of research is a Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE model design. The research instrument used was the PowToon media validation assessment sheet which was used by the validator to assess the feasibility of the learning media. Students also filled out a questionnaire to see the responses to the PowToon media developed. The learning media developed after being assessed and given suggestions by the validator are said to be feasible with the valid category. Based on the research results, it was obtained that the average validation of the four media aspects was 86% with the valid category. The average validation of content aspects, design aspects, pedagogical aspects, and ease aspects in media use. As for the results of filling out the student questionnaire, the overall average was 83% with a good category. Where the average questionnaire motivation, learning outcomes, and scientific attitudes. Thus learning media based on PowToon is declared feasible with the valid category used as a learning media.

Abstract

Physics learning often faces challenges in understanding abstract concepts, such as thermodynamics, which require visualization and experimentation to enhance students' understanding. However, limited laboratory facilities in many schools pose a significant obstacle. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of using PhET virtual laboratories in thermodynamics learning to improve the learning outcomes of 11th-grade high school students. The study employed a quasi-experimental method with a posttest-only control group design. The subjects were students of SMA Negeri 5 Pekanbaru, consisting of two classes: an experimental class using the PhET virtual laboratory and a control class applying conventional teaching methods. The instrument used was a learning outcome test. The results showed that the average learning outcomes of students in the experimental class significantly improved compared to the control class. The use of the PhET virtual laboratory helped students to understand thermodynamics concepts more deeply through interactive simulations. Students' responses to learning with PhET were also very positive, as it was considered engaging, easy to use, and relevant to the taught concepts. The study concludes that the PhET virtual laboratory is effective in thermodynamics learning to improve students' learning outcomes, providing a more meaningful and enjoyable learning experience.
