Abstract

In the post-pandemic era, many interactive activities have been flexibly generated through virtual conditions. Accordingly, some problems could appear in terms of leadership, such as difficulties in maintaining the audience’s attention during the event. Thus, the utilization of a command-based leadership style that could straightforwardly maintain audience focus ought to be considered to be adopted. However, both the command-based leadership style and its prospective aspects have not been widely understood by society. This community service aims to deliver a proper understanding of the command-based leadership style through interactive virtual discussion between experts in teaching activities of defense-based science and society consisting of Indonesian teachers, high school students as well as academics. Statistical results of pre-test and post-test scores showed enhancement of the participants’ understanding of command-based leadership. Hopefully, some relevant aspects of their new perspective of command-based leadership can be properly adopted and effectively implemented to answer current challenges, such as in terms of managing people in virtual conditions.

Abstract

Waste is a form of problem that needs to be managed and carried out in an integrated manner from upstream to downstream so as not to cause environmental pollution. As part of the AdiwiyataSchool, SMAN 67 Jakarta has several working groups (pokja) including the Wast e Pokja, CompostPokja, and Hydroponic Pokja. However, the available solid compost fertilizer production facilities have not been optimally utilized and the working groups that are run have not run according totheir goals. The aim of this PKM activity is to educate students on the significance of converting waste into useful products, enhance the skills of teachers and students in making compost fertilizers, and support the Adiwiyata School program at SMAN 67 Jakarta. The target of thisactivity is the teachers and students of SMAN 67 Jakarta, especially those who are members of theCompost Pokja. The PKM implementation method consists of four stages: (1) Survey and analysis of partner needs, (2) Lecture-based material delivery, (3) Hands-on practice in processing organic waste into solid and liquid compost fertilizers, and (4) Evaluation based on participants' understanding of the material. The results of this PKM activity are as follows: (1) Participants' knowledge of waste processing into higher-value derivative products improved, as evidenced by an increase in pre-test and post-test scores from 79.45 to 85.04; (2) Participants developed skills in producing solid and liquid compost fertilizer for integration into the work program; (3) A composter drum was donated to SMAN 67 Jakarta to support its Adiwiyata School program.

Abstract

Occupational health and safety (OHS) is a crucial aspect in maintaining worker productivity and well-being in industrial areas. This study aims to develop an Internet of Things (IoT)-based OHS monitoring system in the Pulogadung Industrial Area, Jakarta. The system is designed to monitor workplace environmental conditions in real-time, including temperature, humidity, hazardous gases, and workers’ heart rates, using sensors connected to a digital platform. The collected data are transmitted to a central server and displayed through a web-based dashboard, allowing management to perform rapid and accurate monitoring and decision-making. The research method includes user needs analysis, system design, prototype implementation, and performance testing. The test results show that the system can provide early warnings of potential hazards and enhance workers’ awareness of OHS conditions. By integrating IoT technology, this system has the potential to strengthen risk management and support the creation of a safer and healthier working environment in industrial areas.
