Abstract

The emergence of the analytic philosophy of language that developed by Ludwig Wittgenstein focused that the problem of philosophy is a problem of language. Philosophy of language as a linguistic discipline has a strategic position related to the development of language learning, including Arabic. By using library research methods, this study aims to describe the urgency of the philosophy of language and Arabic learning which resulted in several conclusions. First, in essence, language is a symbol system that is not only a sequence of empirical sounds but has a non-empirical meaning. Second, the relationship between philosophy and language occurs when philosophers most often use language analysis to solve philosophical problems. Third, the position of philosophy as the basis for analyzing language concepts and considering the central role of language in verbally expressing philosophical thoughts. Fourth, Arabic learning is in dire need of a philosophical foundation

Abstract

This research aims to investigate Arabic students' perceptions of the use of the SEVIMA Edlink platform in learning process. The object of this research was 161 students of the Arabic Language Education and Arabic Language and Literature UIN Imam Bonjol Padang study program. The method used in this research is a mix method. The results of the investigation in this research show that, in terms of use, this platform is easy to use, and students think that this platform provides good access to lecture materials and assignments. Other findings show that the level of interaction between students and lecturers on this platform is still lacking. However, overall, the majority of students are satisfied with the use of SEVIMA Edlink in their lectures and recommend it to other students. The researcher recommends to investigate lecturers' perceptions of using the SEVIMA Edlink platform and also strategies for developing it in higher education.

Abstract

The challenges of education in meeting millennial needs who are very familiar with technology and the internet are quite large. This is because their life experiences are different, especially their experience in using technology. The purpose of this research is to formulate a formula for evaluating Arabic speaking skills by using YouTube as an evaluation medium and seeing phenomena that emerge when Youtube is used as an evaluation medium in Arabic speaking skills courses. In this study, researchers used descriptive and analytical methods, because he dealt with a lot of information from students assigned to the class by observation and interview. The results showed that the steps in evaluating speaking skills included 3 stages, first the preparation or making of a video, then the upload stage and finally the assessment stage itself. while the phenomenon that arises when using youtube as an evaluation medium is the increased enthusiasm and motivation of students when speaking Arabic, especially when they know that they will publish it to YouTube students are more enthusiastic and serious in showing their speaking skills. with the use of youtube as an evaluation medium, it raises the phenomenon of increasing student scores, almost overall students get good grades, apart from that the videos they make can also be used as an interesting, fun, and easy learning media. In addition to these two results, evaluating speaking skills by speaking through videos uploaded on YouTube also makes the evaluation process construct valid.
