Abstract

The Hakka Diaspora is one of the immigrant descendants who have lived in Indonesia for a very long time. Their existence has often experienced ups and downs. This study aims to analyze the waves of Hakka migration to Indonesia and how they negotiate with national identity. This study used a descriptive qualitative approach to analyze this phenomenon with data collected from interviews and literature studies. The research results showed that the wave of Hakka migration to Indonesia does not only come from mainland China but also from Taiwan. The Hakka migration waves from mainland China largely occurred during the Qing dynasty due to overcrowded populations, the difficulty of land ownership, and government discrimination problems. Meanwhile, the Hakka migration from Taiwan occurred after the Treaty of Shimonoseki in 1895, which forced the Qing dynasty to surrender Formosa to Japan after the First Sino-Japanese war and mass company relocation in the 1980s due to rising production costs in Taiwan. Second, to negotiate their background with Indonesian identity, the Hakka have five philosophies of life called Hakkacita. This philosophy emphasizes conscience, good virtue, cohesiveness, devotion, and shared prosperity between Hakka descendants and other ethnic groups within the framework of Indonesian nationalism.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the potential of Kudus Regency in implementing digital nomads as a strategy to accelerate Islamic religious tourism recovery after the COVID-19 pandemic. This research is important because even though pandemic control has gotten better, there is no guarantee that a virulent virus like COVID-19 will not emerge again and then have an impact on the tourism vacuum. To examine the potential of digital nomads in the Kudus Regency, the research results will be displayed using four aspects of tourism products including attraction, accessibility, amenity, and ancillary, and then discussed with SWOT as an analytical tool. This study uses a qualitative and descriptive approach where data collection is done by observation, interviews with seven informants, and focus group discussions with ten experts. The research results showed that: First, the attraction aspect is very promising because of the many and a varied number of Islamic religious tourism destinations in Kudus. Second, the accessibility aspect still needs improvement because the bus is the only mass public transportation option that directly reaches Kudus. Third, the amenities aspect requires adjustments to prices and health protocol standards. Fourth, the ancillary aspect is quite promising because health facilities, banking, and internet networks are wellavailable. Thus, attraction and ancillary become elements of strength (S), accessibility becomes weakness (W), and amenities become opportunity (O). However, attraction can also turn into a threat (T) if it is not managed properly because many tourist objects have died after the pandemic.

Abstract

The Indonesian constitution has stated that natural resources must be utilized for the people’s benefit. But the people’s interests are often defeated by the elite. The long-term goal of this research is not to close the mining area and its activities, but to ensure that the exploration and exploitation process that has already started must prioritize ecological balance and disaster resilience. Using a qualitative method and a descriptive approach, this study analyzes the role of the government, corporation, and local communities in the framework of resources governance in order to strengthen the advocacy of civil society who are often marginalized in the existence of extractive industries. The results of the study show that the gold mining activity is contrary to the forestry law where the existing rules have been liberalized by selling state assets to private companies; the lack of added value for local communities such as limited job vacancies; the occurrence of environmental damage around the gold mining area where this area is actually a protected forest and a natural barrier from the threat of a tsunami disaster; and even though mining companies have claimed that their activities are environmentally friendly, in fact disasters are starting to appear.

Abstract

The objectives of this research are: (1) To explore the potential and opportunities for Halal Sport Tourism in Lombok to bring in tourists. (2) mapping the fulfillment of facilities and infrastructure in making it easier for tourists to reach locations and activities at Halal Sport Tourism locations in Lombok. (3) Analyzing the participation of tourism actors (stakeholders) in the management of Halal Sport Tourism in Lombok. The method in this study uses a type of qualitative research using a descriptive approach. The results of this study show that the potential for Halal Sport Tourism in Lombok is actually quite large, this is shown by the existence of Sport Tourism Events, Active Sport Tourism, and some nostalgia for Sport Tourism in various places in Lombok. this is also strengthened by the existence of supporting infrastructure such as quite a lot of places of worship, Lombok is also predominantly Muslim so that halal guarantees in every sports tourism area can be ascertained to be halal. In terms of accessibility, accommodation already exists and this is good, this is indicated by the existence of several sharia hotels, then the ease of direct transportation to Muslim countries and regions, as well as guarantees of halal restaurants in the sports tourism area and easy access to purification and worship for tourists. The management model is an illustration of how the concept of Halal Sport Tourism can be developed. Currently, this special tourism interest has not been developed there. However, seeing the existing potential and access, Halal Sport Tourism has the potential to be developed further. Management of existing halal tourism and sports tourism can be integrated as a model for managing Halal Sport Tourism in the future.

Abstract

Covid-19 spreads sporadically throughout the world at a high mortality rate. This virus caused a health crisis that forced the World Health Organization to declare it a global pandemic and caused various countries to implement massive social restrictions. Until March 2023, there were 160,963 deaths because of Covid-19, making Indonesia the second highest in Asia. Indonesia's lousy experience managing the Covid-19 pandemic should raise awareness that a crisis can occur at any time. Even though the current situation has improved a lot, preparedness and vigilance should not be neglected. No one can guarantee that a pandemic like Covid-19 will not occur again. Based on this situation, it is essential to look more deeply at the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic and how scholars in various disciplines deal with it. To analyze future risks, interdisciplinary research is needed. This is a research approach that can link the main issues of the medical and health disciplines with other disciplines, such as the environment, social welfare, and public policy.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the Strategy of the Regional Financial and Asset Management Agency in Increasing Bima City's Original Regional Income. The research method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. The research results show the strategy of the Regional Financial and Asset Management Agency in an effort to increase Regional Original Income, namely the strategy set by the Regional Financial and Asset Management Agency in increasing Regional Original Income is Intensity and Assistance where the Regional Financial and Asset Management Agency must first strengthen all forms of regulations regions related to their Regional Original Income as a reference in determining them. Carrying out data collection on all tax objects because some have already been recorded, but if there is a change in the value, the Regional Financial and Asset Management Agency automatically has to re-register the data again. Carrying out audits of taxpayers, namely issuing letters regarding tax assessments for collection. If there is no response from the taxpayer, they will carry out an inspection. Creating a digital channel called Regional Tax Transaction Electronification to make it easier and help the community, but unfortunately this strategy is still in process and has not yet been realized.
