Abstract

This article identifies the effect of trust, brand awareness, and social piety before doing donation using the Fintech platform. Therefore, this explanatory research examined the influence of four variables. The data were collected through a purposive sampling technique involving 250 societies across Lombok Island as respondents, as well as applying a case study approach. The data analysis technique is implemented through SEM (Structural Equation Modelling). The article shows a positive and significant impact among trust, brand awareness, and social piety in donation decisions through the fintech platform. However, brand awareness and trust do not affect social piety. Hence, this article recommends the fundraising institutions that actively collect funds through fintech platforms to always prioritize the openness principle in managing public funds. A transparent attitude can increase public trust to utilize the platform whenever they want to channel funds spontaneously.

Abstract

IntroductionIn the current fiat monetary system, inflation can severely diminish the value of money, causing injustice in long-term loan repayments. Within the Islamic economic framework, this raises significant concerns for al-qardh contracts—benevolent, interest-free loans—where delayed repayment may lead to harm for either the lender or borrower. The concept of la tazlimuna wa la tuzlamun (do not wrong others, nor be wronged) offers a moral foundation to seek fair and balanced repayment solutions in such contexts.ObjectivesThis study investigates how Islamic principles, particularly the notion of la tazlimuna wa la tuzlamun, can be applied to ensure justice in repaying al-qardh loans after currency inflation. The research aims to identify repayment models that uphold the lender’s rights without imposing undue burden on the borrower.MethodEmploying a normative and descriptive library research method, this study examines primary sources such as the Qur’an, Hadith, and classical Islamic jurisprudence, alongside contemporary scholarly works on Islamic economics and monetary systems. A thematic analysis was used to identify fair repayment mechanisms rooted in Islamic legal reasoning and public interest principles.ResultsThe study proposes several alternatives to address the injustice caused by currency devaluation, including adjusting loan values to the price of gold and silver, pegging debts to stable foreign currencies, applying inflation-based indexation, and discouraging hoarding behavior that exacerbates price instability. While the use of interest rates was explored, it was ultimately rejected by most Islamic scholars. The return to a gold-silver standard is presented as a long-term ideal to restore monetary fairness.ImplicationsThe findings offer practical guidance for Islamic financial ethics, suggesting the need for a formal fatwa to regulate fair debt repayment post-inflation. This guidance could extend beyond financial institutions to protect individuals and communities in inflationary environments, reinforcing justice and stability in Islamic economic transactions.Originality/NoveltyThis study provides a fresh perspective by integrating Islamic legal, economic, and ethical principles to address inflation-induced injustices in al-qardh repayment. It presents a balanced framework that respects the spirit of Islamic contracts while adapting to modern financial realities.

Abstract

In the era of Society 5.0, the development of digital technology has increasingly influenced Indonesia’s financial sector, particularly through financial technology (fintech). This study explores the implementation of multi-akad (multiple contract structures) in Sharia Peer-to-Peer (P2P) Lending platforms in Indonesia. Using a qualitative case study method supported by in-depth interviews and documentation, the study identifies and analyzes contract types such as Qardh, Wakalah bil Ujrah, and Mudharabah Mutlaqah as applied within P2P lending schemes. Findings show that multi-akad practices, specifically categorized under al-‘Uqud al-Mujtami’ah, not only support Sharia compliance but also demonstrate innovation in adapting Islamic jurisprudence to contemporary digital finance. The study contributes to regulatory strengthening, offering insights to policymakers, platforms, and stakeholders in developing inclusive and ethical Sharia-compliant fintech ecosystems.

Abstract

This study investigates the formation of trust within an Information Technology (IT)-based digital environment and its influence on beliefs, intentions, and behaviors related to academic publishing through University Intellectual Property Waqf Institutions (UIPWI) utilizing Open Access (OA) digital platforms. The research integrates and extends the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB), Theory of Reasoned Action (TRA), Self-Determination Theory (SDT), Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), and the Theory of Open Access in a quantitative survey design. The sample includes students from Airlangga University and various public and private universities across Indonesia. Data were collected online via WhatsApp group invitations using Google Forms and analyzed with Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM). The findings reveal that technological, individual, and social trust determinants positively affect waqif trust in UIPWI operating on OA platforms. Moreover, religious beliefs strengthen the relationship between trust determinants and the intention to publish academic works through UIPWI via gold or green access schemes. This study provides strategic insights for universities planning to establish UIPWI and for stakeholders such as government agencies and the Indonesian Waqf Board (BWI). It also contributes to expanding discourse on the role of credible digital environments in fostering academic publishing through Islamic philanthropic mechanisms. A limitation of this study lies in its relatively small sample size; thus, future research is encouraged to involve larger samples and broader institutional participation to enhance the global generalizability of the findings.

Abstract

Islamic Capital Market and Islamic Bonds: Pillars of Halal Investment in the Modern Era Abstract This study aims to examine the growth of the Islamic capital market in Indonesia, with a particular focus on the strategic role of Islamic bonds (sukuk) as an alternative halal investment and a financing instrument for sustainable development. The background of this study is driven by the increasing awareness of the Muslim community regarding the importance of investments that comply with Sharia principles, along with the development of Sharia-based financial instruments such as the Islamic capital market and sukuk. Using a literature review method, this study analyzes various theories of Islamic finance, market regulations, statistics on the growth of Sharia-compliant investors, and digital innovations in Islamic investment services. The findings indicate that sukuk play an important role in supporting infrastructure development and strengthening the green economy through the issuance of green sukuk. In addition to providing stable returns that comply with Sharia principles, sukuk also expand financial inclusion and reduce dependence on conventional financing. However, the main challenges remain the low level of Islamic financial literacy and the suboptimal liquidity of the secondary sukuk market. This study concludes that strengthening regulations, digitalizing services, and enhancing education and literacy in Islamic finance are strategic steps to maximize the potential of sukuk as instruments for investment and development. Future research is recommended to explore the effectiveness of digitalization in expanding Islamic financial inclusion and the tangible impacts of green sukuk on sustainable development projects.
