Abstract

Pulmonary Tuberculosis (TB) is a contagious infectious disease that remains a global health problem. Smoking, both active and passive, is a risk factor that can worsen TB symptoms. At Seruni Ward of Cibinong Regional Hospital, many TB patients were found to be readmitted with worsening symptoms, suspected to be related to smoking history. This study aims to determine the relationship between active and passive smoking history and the worsening of pulmonary TB symptoms. The study used a quantitative correlational design with a retrospective longitudinal approach. The sample consisted of 82 pulmonary TB patients who were readmitted at least twice during 2024. Data were obtained from medical records and analyzed using the chi-square test. Results showed a significant relationship between smoking history and worsening TB symptoms (p < 0.05). Patients with an active smoking history experienced more severe symptoms. Educational and preventive interventions are needed to reduce symptom aggravation in TB patients with a smoking history.

Abstract

Couples of childbearing age are the targets of the family planning program, from the number of PUS there are some who decide they want to delay pregnancy or do not want additional children but do not use family planning, this EFA group is referred to as unmet need. Low knowledge causes women to be afraid to use contraceptives because previously rumors of contraception circulating in the community, as a result of lack of knowledge of PUS in choosing good contraception, negatively impacted attitudes and behavior in planning their next pregnancy. have a known problem with “4 Too”(4-T) (too many, too young, too old, too close in birth spacing) which is very dangerous. This condition is supported by the presence of three late (3T), namely being late in recognizing signs, being late in reaching the service center and being late in getting help. Factors (4T and 3T) are social problems that also determine the health and safety of the labor process and the rapid birth rate of babies. The research method used was pre-experimental with one-group pretest posttest design. This study used 15 samples based on inclusion criteria, the sampling technique was purposive sampling. The results showed that there was a difference in knowledge of post-test mothers which was higher than the results of mothers' knowledge on pre-test using video media on IUD contraception.

Abstract

Background: One of the main causes of stunting is the lack of continuous energy intake in women of childbearing age (from adolescence, pre-conception to pregnancy) which results in Chronic Energy Deficiency during pregnancy which begins with the occurrence of "risk" and is characterized by low energy supply over a long period of time as measured by Upper Arm Circumference (LILA) of less than 23.5 cm or Body Mass Index (BMI) before pregnancy or The first trimester was below 18.5 Kg/m². Purpose: The purpose of this study is to determine the relationship between the history of SEZ in pregnancy and maternal diet with the incidence of stunting. Method: This study is analytical observational research with a cross-sectional research design which was carried out in the working area of the South Wara Health Center in June-July 2025. There are three variables in this study, namely the free variable, the SEZ in Pregnancy and the Maternal Diet the variable is tied to stunting. The collection of SEZ history data in mothers was obtained from mothers of toddlers through interviews, Maternal and Child Health (KIA) books and stunting data using secondary data sourced from the 2024-2025 EPPGBM big data of 62 children. Results: Based on the results of statistical data using the Chi-square test, the value  = 0.000 < (0.05) was obtained. Thus, it can be concluded that there is a relationship between diet and SEZ and stunting incidence. Conclusion: The results of the study show that there is a relationship between Chronic Energy Deficiency in pregnant women and diet with the incidence of stunting in the working area of the South Wara Health Center in 2025.The results of the study also show that there is a relationship between Diet and SEZ and the incidence of stunting in the working area of the South Wara Health Center, Palopo City in 2025. Suggestion: The results of this study are expected to increase public knowledge about the relationship between chronic energy deficiency in pregnancy and maternal diet and the incidence of stunting and can provide input to the public to better understand the importance of the health of pregnant women, especially during the 1000 days of their child's life, as well as prevent risks that may occur in the future by providing good nutrition to pregnant women and children     Keywords: KEK, Diet and Stunting

Abstract

Marriage is a physical and spiritual bond between a man and a woman to build a life together, fostering a family. West Sulawesi Province is the region with the highest rate of early marriage in Indonesia. According to the 2020 National Social and National Survey (SUSENAS) data, the rate of early marriage in West Sulawesi reached 10.05 percent. These figures demonstrate that early marriage remains prevalent in Indonesia. Purpose: This study aims to examine the relationship between socioeconomic and cultural factors and adolescent marriage in the working area of the Campalagian Health Center. Methods: An analytic survey with a cross-sectional design was used in this study, conducted in 2024. The population consisted of women of childbearing age (WUS) aged 15–25 years. A total of 87 participants were selected using purposive sampling and the Slovin formula. Data were collected through structured questionnaires and analyzed using the chi-square test with the assistance of SPSS software. Results: The findings showed a significant relationship between socioeconomic status and adolescent marriage (p = 0.000 < 0.05), and between cultural values and adolescent marriage (p = 0.000 < 0.05). Among respondents who married before the age of 20, most had lower socioeconomic backgrounds or were influenced by traditions such as early arranged marriages. Conclusion: There is a significant association between socioeconomic and cultural factors and adolescent marriage in the Campalagian Health Center area. The study recommends that the government strengthen education and advocacy programs to reduce early marriage practices and raise awareness of its long-term health and social impacts.
