<![CDATA[Depression is a mood disorder that is generally characterized by hopelessness, excessive helplessness, and lack of enthusiasm for life. Starting from stress that is not overcome, then a person can fall into a phase of depression. This study aims to look at the effect of providing music therapy in reducing depression in the elderly before and after being given a commitment. To achieve this goal, this study uses a quasi-experimental method (Quasi Experiment). The type of research design used is Quasi Experiment with one group pretest and posttest design. The sampling technique was purposive sampling where participants based on population criteria obtained a sample of 16 people. Data collection methods using tests with a scale measuring instrument namely Geriatric Depression Scale (GDS) consisting of 30 item questions, observation methods and interview methods .. Based on data analysis it was concluded that the results obtained were Man Whitney Test U = 0.500 with a value of p = 0.001 ( p <0.01) where the mean ranks on the gain score is 12.44 and the sum of ranks is 99.50, this shows the difference in effectiveness of the effects of music therapy before and after treatment and to test the difference in levels of depression before and after being given music therapy using Wilcoxon Sign Rank test analysis . the results obtained z value = -2.539 with a value of p = 0.11 (p <0.01) so that it can be concluded that there are differences in changes in the level of depression in the elderly before and after given treatment.]]>

<![CDATA[Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman anak mengenai nilai-nilai dalam hidup bersama dalam komunitas dan masyarakat. Selain itu, kegiatan ini ditujukan untuk membantu dalam pembuatan website Panti Asuhan Santa Maria (SanMa) Pasang Surut. Metode yang digunakan untuk 38 anak panti berupa pemberian materi, praktek bermain bersama, dan pendalaman materi melalui tayangan film. Adapun metode yang digunakan untuk 4 orang pendamping anak berupa pelatihan pengelolaan website. Hasil kegiatan berupa peningkatan pemahaman nilai-nilai karakter yang baik dan positif. Selain itu, pendamping juga mengalami peningkatan pengetahuan dalam pengelolaan website. Pengembangan karakter selalu menjadi perhatian pengelola panti, dan akan berkelanjutan dalam program pengembangan karakter anak. Website panti asuhan sudah dibuat dan perlu disempurnakan lebih lanjut.]]>

<![CDATA[Improving the quality of higher education relates to the performance of lecturers in the field of education, research and publications, and community service. Improving the performance of lecturers requires the competence and commitment of the university leaders. This study aims to determine the effect of leadership on the performance of lecturers. The study was conducted at the Musi Charitas Catholic University. The location of this research was conducted at two campuses of Musi Charitas Catholic University namely: Bangau Campus and Burlian Campus. The study was conducted for 8 months (September 2017 s.d April 2018). This study used a combination of exploratory research and explanatory research. Exploratory research aims to explore the phenomena of leadership factors that can improve the performance of tridarma for permanent lecturers at the Musi Charitas Catholic University Palembang. Explanatory research is to explain the relationship between research variables that are the influence of leadership variables on the performance of permanent lecturer of the Catholic University of Musi Palembang. Regression analysis was used to examine the influence of leadership on lecturer performance. The result of this research showed that the influence of leadership on lecturer performance was 52,5% while 47,5% of lecturer's performance variable was influenced by other variables outside of this research, including government policy variable, motivation, and lecturer personality.]]>

<![CDATA[Tiga Negeri batik began to be made in the late 18th century on the north coast of Java island but its dyeing process was made in three cities, namely Lasem, Pekalongan, and Surakarta. The term three refers not only to the number of colors but also to the combination of three cultures behind the style, namely Java, China, and Europe. This field research using qualitative methods aims to explore the possibility of developing Tiga Negeri batik through the use of natural coloring from plants. Data were collected through observation and interviews with batik artisans in Lasem, Pekalongan and Surakarta, as well as batik artisans who are also natural dye activists and who are members of the Indonesian Natural Dyers Association living in Kediri and Jombang. The result is that Tiga Negeri batik with environmentally friendly natural dyes can be achieved despite still having to use a small amount of artificial dyes, especially for the red color. This effort to return to natural dyes is mainly because this type of batik attracts the attention of international consumers in particular, and domestic consumers in general.]]>

<![CDATA[Abstrak Perancangan dengan teknik ikat celup yang menggunakan pewarna alam ini merupakan perancangan motif ikat celup untuk menambah alternatif produk ikat celup dipasar dengan motif yang berbeda dari biasanya. Ide ikat celup merupakan salah satu dari tiga kain khas Jawa, yakni batik dan tenun lurik. Umumnya motif yang dihasilkan bulatan kecil atau kotak segi empat. Dalam perancangan ini motif dibuat agar memiliki bentuk lain, yaitu meniru bentuk serangga capung. Selain itu menggunakan pewarna alam Indigo Strobilanthes Cusia. Metode perancangan yang digunakan adalah teori penciptaan menurut Gustami dengan tiga tahap, yang diawali dengan kegiatan eksplorasi dengan cara mengumpulkan data, data visual, dan observasi pembuatan celup ikat. Perancangan menghasilkan beberapa alternatif motif baru hasil celup ikat yang diaplikasikan untuk kebaya.]]>

<![CDATA[Misi utama Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan (SMK) adalah membekali siswanya agar berkompeten pada bidang sesuai dengan kejuruannya. Kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat ini digagas guna mengembangkan minat dan kepercayaan diri para siswa dalam kegiatan sketching dan describing bangunan sederhana berupa rumah panggung yang diharapkan dapat berkontribusi dalam menunjang peningkatan pengetahuan para siswa mengenai sketching bangunan sederhana dan mempertajam kemampuan berbahasa Inggris mereka dengan mendeskripsikan bangunan tersebut dalam bahasa Inggris. Selain itu, kegiatan ini juga diharapkan dapat membantu para siswa dalam meningkatkan minat dan kepercayaan diri mereka untuk menuangkan ide pada kegiatan sketching dan mempresentasikan sketch bangunan sederhana yang dibuat dalam bahasa Inggris. Sebanyak dua puluh satu siswa SMK jurusan Desain Visual Komunikasi turut berpartisipasi dalam kegiatan tersebut. Adapun kegiatan ini dilaksanakan dalam enam fase, yaitu: pre-test, pemaparan materi, tanya jawab, praktek, post-test, dan feedback siswa melalui kuisioner. Hasil tes dan kuisioner menunjukkan bahwa kegiatan ini membantu para siswa dalam meningkatkan kemampuan mereka membuat sketsa dan mempresentasikan rumah panggung sederhana dengan berbahasa Inggris serta meningkatkan minat dan kepercayaan diri mereka dalam belajar.]]>

<![CDATA[The Javanese who live in the Central Java region are known for their cultural strength. This can be seen from how they uphold the heritage traditions of their ancestors. Besides that, Central Javanese people are easily known through their typical costume. Kebaya and its equipment from head to toe, it is said that initially only used by the royal community had a quite interesting value and philosophy. For decades kebaya as part of history, experienced various changes in line with the era that continues to run. The most important thing is that kebaya is no longer an everyday outfit like in the past.This research paper uses qualitative research using a cultural approach. This study aims to find out (1) changes in values and philosophies such as what happened to kebaya clothing specifically used in the Central Java region; (2) whether today's kebaya can still be called traditional clothing, especially with various changes caused by current conditions.]]>

<![CDATA[Palembang City YPAC School is one of the extraordinary schools under the auspices of the YPAC foundation. Students who are active at this school are students who are deaf, mentally disabled, blind, physically impaired, autistic and Down syndrome. This service aims to determine: 1) the level of creativity of students with special needs at YPAC Palembang; 2) The methods used by teachers in developing the creativity of students with special needs at SLB YPAC. Activities for 2 days with the materials provided, namely handicrafts in the form of face painting, finger painting, thread pulling painting, singing together, and entrepreneurship seminars for teachers and parents of students. As a result of this service activity, the level of participant satisfaction with PkM activities was responded to by agreeing at 57.20% and strongly agreeing at 39.51%.]]>
