Abstract

This study aims to find out how the use of Alef Education learning media improves listening skills (a quasi-experimental study in class eleventh grade students in Islamic Senior High School 1 Kab. Serang) and the effect of using Alef Education learning media on improving listening skills (a quasi-experimental study in class eleventh grade student’ in Islamic Senior High School 1 Kab. Serang). Researchers use quantitative research methods using the quasi-experimental design and actual design experimental methods, namely experiment and control classes. The population of this study was 249 students of class eleven, and the sample used amounted to 36 students. The sampling technique used probably sampling with simple random sampling, which is a random sampling from the population because the population is considered homogeneous if the number of subjects is less than 100. The data collection methods used are observation, interview, documentation, pre-test, and post-test. The effect of using Alef Education learning is calculated from the pre-test and post-test with the arithmetic t-method > t-table 5,168 > 2,032. It can be concluded that there is an influence on listening skills in Alef Education learning.

Abstract

Dialectics focuses on understanding the context of the al-Qur'an and is integrated as a method of dialogue between the original text and the translation. By developing a new framework that combines al-Qur’an dialectics and religious values through textual analysis and literature review. This study provides a critical review of translation theory, investigating the relationship between language and religious meaning in the al-Qur'an text. The combination of dialectical aspects and al-Qur'an perspectives is expected to make a significant contribution to the development of theories on the translation of religious texts, especially in the Islamic context. The practical implications include the development of more contextualized and detailed translation guidelines as well as a more comprehensive understanding of the religious meaning embedded in the al-Qur'an text. The methodology used is library research using a descriptive qualitative approach and book research involving textual analysis of religious texts in the al-Qur'an, followed by a literature review of existing translation theories. The results of this analysis form the basis for the development of a dialectical model in the translation of religious texts, in which cultural, historical and linguistic contexts become key considerations. By utilizing the al-Qur'an perspective, this research directs the translation of religious texts towards a deeper and more contextual understanding.

Abstract

This article discusses the convergence between linguistic and literary studies, especially in the context of syntax and semantics, and how this convergence influences narrative in literary works. Through a multidisciplinary approach, this article explores the ways in which linguistic elements such as sentence structure and the meaning of words can deepen our understanding of stories and characters in literary works. In syntactic analysis, this study explains how sentence structure in literary texts can affect narrative rhythm, express character emotions, and create dramatic tension. On the other hand, semantic analysis reveals how the choice of words and their meanings can design hidden messages in narratives, enrich characterization, and express main themes in literary works. This article also describes how this linguistic approach can help readers and researchers of literature better understand how writers use language to create powerful and diverse works. By considering the essential role of syntax and semantics in literature, this article highlights the importance of integration between linguistic and literary studies in analyzing and appreciating the richness and complexity of literary works, as well as providing a deeper view of how language plays a key role in the process of telling stories and creating meaningful literary experiences. deep.

Abstract

Advances in information technology, especially social media platforms, have affected the dynamics of languages, including Arabic. Through a descriptive linguistic approach, this study examines how the use of Arabic on social media has shifted the meaning of certain words, introduced new terms, and created variations in daily use. Data was collected from various social media platforms, including Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook, focusing on words that underwent a change in meaning or the emergence of new terms that were not found in classical Arabic. The data collected analyzed through identification, categorization, and comparison with classical Arabic to understand the change in meaning. Contextual analysis is also carried out by examining the use of words in various situations on social media and the influence of digital culture. The results of this study show that the development of technology and the use of social media have brought changes to the contemporary Arabic language. Some words have experienced a shift in meaning, the addition of new meanings, and adaptation to the digital context. This phenomenon reflects the social and cultural dynamics that are developing in Arab society, especially among the younger generation who are increasingly accustomed to technology.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze and explore the role of Arabic language performance in shaping the social identity of Arabic study students at State Islamic Religious Colleges (PTKIN), as well as its relationship with their religious understanding. This study uses a sociolinguistic approach with mixed methods, combining quantitative data from a survey of Arabic study students at several PTKINs, as well as qualitative data from in-depth interviews. The data were analyzed to identify how Arabic is used not only as a means of communication, but also as an expression of religious and cultural identity. The results of the study indicate that Arabic language performance among Arabic study students not only improves their language skills, but also strengthens their social and religious identities as Muslims. Arabic is used significantly as a medium that integrates aspects of religiosity and culture in students' academic and social lives. These findings confirm that Arabic has an important role in maintaining and strengthening religious and cultural identities in Islamic higher education environments. In conclusion, Arabic language performance not only has an impact on language proficiency, but also shapes the social identity and religious understanding of students at PTKINs. This research has significance in enriching sociolinguistic studies in Indonesia and provides implications for Arabic language learning strategies that are more integrated with aspects of religious and social identity in the PTKIN environment, making it a tool for developing a broader cultural understanding and a strong religious identity

Abstract

Dictionaries are an important tool in Arabic translation and learning. Technological developments have given rise to online-based dictionaries such as al-Ma'any, which provide ease in translating, while printed dictionaries by Mahmud Yunus still hold historical and methodological value. This study employs a qualitative method with a content analysis approach. The purpose of this study is to compare the results of translation analysis and translation quality between the online-based mu'jam al-Ma'any and the Mahmud Yunus printed dictionaries. The results of the study indicate that the quality of a good translation depends on the context and purpose of the translation itself. Consequently, mu'jam al-Ma'any has an advantage in terms of speed of access and diversity of translation results, both in linguistic aspects (grammatical, semantic, and pragmatic) as well as non-linguistic aspects (cultural, social, and situational). In contrast, Mahmud Yunus's dictionary demonstrates a higher level of accuracy and consistency, especially concerning terms that have special meanings in Islam, although the search process takes longer. Both dictionaries possess advantages that complement each other. The al-Ma'any online dictionary is suitable for quick and dynamic needs, while the Mahmud Yunus printed dictionary is more relevant for in-depth study. Combining the two can enhance the quality of Arabic translation.

Abstract

Arabic teachers at MTs and MA Al-Muchlisin face challenges in applying the independent curriculum, which focuses on differentiated, project-based, and competency-based learning. A qualitative case study approach was used in this research. The research methodology utilized in this study was Action Research in the form of School Action Research approach using the Kemmis and McTaggart cycle model, which has planning, action, observation, and reflection stages. The subject of the study was Arabic language teachers at MTs and MA Al-Muchlisin who have at least three years of teaching experience but have not yet explored the implementation of the independent curriculum. The independent curriculum training has been effective in enhancing teachers' understanding and skills. Teachers are now able to create teaching modules, design project-based learning, and use differentiated approaches based on students' learning styles (visual, auditory, kinesthetic). They have also improved classroom management, created a more enjoyable learning environment, and focused on evaluating students' competency achievement. The result showed that teacher competence has positively impacted the quality of Arabic language learning which also increased the students’ engagement and motivation. The challenges and obstacles such as varied student abilities and time limitations can be addressed through remedial learning and mentoring. This article recommends the continuous training to ensure the sustainability of the implementation of the independent curriculum and the optimization of learning quality.
