Abstract

Technological innovations are revolutionizing the financial sector through decentralized systems. The emergence of digital currencies necessitates a shift in the financial system toward services that accommodate the development of digital money in the era of Society 5.0. This study aims to explore the potential of Decentralized Finance (DeFi) and its maslahah (benefit) for future financial services in Indonesia. A qualitative approach was employed using library research by collecting primary and secondary data from journals, books, and other literature. Data were analyzed using descriptive analysis through data grouping, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that DeFi has the potential to become one of the future financial services as it aligns with technological advancements and the development dimensions of the Society 5.0 era. DeFi offers five maslahah benefits: (1) Protecting religion (hifzu al-din) by serving as an alternative investment instrument; (2) Protecting life (hifzu an-nafs) by becoming a financial market instrument; (3) Protecting progeny (hifzu al-nasl) by encouraging income growth; (4) Protecting intellect (hifzu al-‘aql) by developing human resource potential; and (5) Protecting wealth (hifzu al-maal) by accommodating sources of income and financing for the benefit of society. Therefore, DeFi holds significant potential to contribute positively to Indonesia's financial future by providing services aligned with the values of maslahah and the technological advancements of Society 5.0.========================================================================================================ABSTRAK - Desentralisasi Keuangan dan Maslahahnya: Membentuk Layanan Keuangan Masa Depan di Indonesia. Abstract

The economic crisis and political turmoil in the 1990s did not guarantee the strength of Indonesia's economic situation, therefore political and fiscal decentralization was initiated and Law No. 25 was passed in 1999. This research aims to understand conventional fiscal policy and Islamic economics in the Indonesian economy. This research method uses literature study through secondary data collection. The results of this research show that conventional fiscal policy has a stability function that aims to, among other things, maintain high employment opportunities, relatively stable price levels, and economic growth rates. This function shows the similarity of the functions and benefits of zakat, jizyah, khums, and kharaj in Islamic economic fiscal policy. If zakat, jizyah, khums, and kharaj are instruments of fiscal policy, the redistribution of income and wealth will take place, then the problem of poverty and economic growth can be reduced and will have a good impact on economic and political stability. According to experts, the concept of contractionary fiscal policy is reducing government spending so that the money supply can be reduced through income redistribution. This is in line with the aim of fiscal policy instruments in Islamic economics to improve the living standards of the poor by redistributing the income of the rich to the poor.

Islamic economic thought in Indonesia is not something that suddenly appears on the surface without any basis but is present because of the presence of figures who bring the concept of thought that becomes theoretical Islamic economics. This thought must be examined and found traces of historical truth. The purpose of this research focuses on the discussion of the history of Islamic economic thought in Indonesia and the history of the institutionalization of Islamic economics and Islamic banks in Indonesia. Then trade practices began to be written in Mirât al-Thullâb by Shaykh Abdul Ra'uf al-Sinkili which became a source of Islamic economic thought. Meanwhile, the establishment of Islamic banks was a collaboration between the Indonesian Muslim Scholars Association and MUI. The participation of Indonesian President Soeharto as the initiator of the establishment of the first Sharia bank in Indonesia, as well as the personal role of several former ministers and ministers of the Development V cabinet. With a capital of Rp.116 billion, the Islamic bank began operations on 1 May 1992.

Abstract

IntroductionConsumers’ increasing concern for sustainability has created new demands for environmentally friendly products, particularly in the cosmetics industry. In Muslim-majority markets, Shariah-compliant green marketing has emerged as a strategic approach to align ethical values and environmental responsibility. However, limited studies have explored how environmental knowledge, word of mouth, and Shariah green marketing interact to influence purchase intention through the mediating role of environmental attitude.ObjectivesThis study investigates the direct and indirect effects of environmental knowledge, word of mouth, and Shariah green marketing on purchase intention, with environmental attitude as a mediating variable. It aims to contribute to the understanding of sustainable consumer behavior in a religious and ethical context.MethodA quantitative research design was adopted, utilizing a structured online questionnaire distributed to 260 Avoskin consumers. Data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The model assessed both measurement and structural components, including convergent validity, reliability, discriminant validity, path coefficients, and mediation analysis.ResultsThe findings show that Shariah green marketing had the strongest direct and indirect effects on purchase intention, followed by word of mouth. Environmental knowledge significantly influenced environmental attitude but did not directly affect purchase intention. Environmental attitude was confirmed as a key mediator in the relationship between the three exogenous variables and purchase intention.ImplicationsThe study highlights the critical role of environmental attitudes in bridging values-driven marketing with sustainable consumer behavior. It suggests that marketers should focus on emotional and ethical engagement to foster pro-environmental attitudes and stimulate purchase intention.Originality/NoveltyThis research enriches the current literature by integrating Islamic ethical marketing with sustainability discourse and consumer behavior theory. It offers new insights into how environmental and religious values jointly shape green purchasing behavior, particularly in emerging markets.
