Abstract

Communications is one of the normal things for humans life. The result of this research is that the pattern ofinter-religious communications formed at Maha Vihara Duta Maitreya Batam uses personal communicationsand gorup communication with the aim of maintaining inter-religious tolerance in communcating with theestablishment of this communication.namely the occurence of two-way communication and the occurence offeedback between the sender of the message and the recipient of the message. In this communication pattern,communication is established between religious communities at the Maha Vihara Duta Maitreya, which iscreated at major monastic events such as Chinese New Year Celebrations, Vesak, and Moon Cake events

Abstract

@batampromotion is a promotional information media in Batam on Instagram which had trusted by public to share information about tourism, property, automotive, culinary, and others in Batam. @batampromotion is quite active to updating content on Instagram that makes Instagram’s user interested to follow. @batampromotion is one of the accounts that having a prominent profile on Instagram, as a content creator who creates things that interest the public according to trending topics. The purpose of this research is to find out how @batampromotion’s Instagram builds the tourism image of Batam by content analysis. This research is a qualitative research using a descriptive method of content analysis approach with the object of research is content on @batampromotion’s Instagram. The results of the research is @batampromotion is uses a communication strategy through New Media Instagram by focusing on the quality of an interesting content and a relaxed manner of communication so that is easily to be understood by followers and/or other Instagram’s users. An image that built through @batampromotion’s Instagram content, Batam is described as a tourism city that focuses on entertainment places. The form of communication used is verbal communication which makes it easier for followers to receive more detailed information by adding textual explanations to the content.

Abstract

Photocopier is a thriller drama film that tells about sexual harassment in the student environment, specifically the student environment. This film raises the point of view and events of a student named Suryani who has experienced a sexual crime incident which caused her to lose her scholarship from her place of study. This film also shows how to solve the problem of sexual harassment in the educational environment. This study aims to find out and describe what are the signs that describe the delivery of messages of sexual harassment in films through Pierce's 3 trichotomic categories, namely sign, object, and interpretant. The method used is Charles Sanders Pierce's semiotic theory with specialization based on icons, indexes and symbols. The research method used is a qualitative research method that produces data in verbal form, not numbers. The results of this study are that there are forms and symbols of sexual harassment that occur in the student environment, based on Charles Sanders Pierce's semiotic analysis. scenes of accumulating evidence of harassment as well as feminist ideology that is visibly raised in relation to sexual harassment.

Abstract

Microsoft Teams is a new collaboration platform that has become popular in the modern work environment, providing a wide range of features for communication and collaboration in the form of instant messaging, voice and video calling, and file sharing. The development of technology and information is an unavoidable reform in entering the 4.0 era. Users not only experience challenges in using new media but also have to be able to adapt to the media. This study aims to determine whether Microsoft Teams affects the dissemination of information to employees of PT Schneider Electric Batam. The research method used is descriptive quantitative method. The sampling technique used is random sampling technique, the sample in this study is 100 employees. Research data obtained from the results of the questionnaire. Data analysis techniques used descriptive statistical tests, classical assumption tests, simple linear regression and hypothesis testing. The research results from the use of the Microsoft Teams application are said to have a positive and significant effect on the dissemination of information because the value for using the application is significant 0.000 <0.05 and the t-count value of 7.812 is greater than the t-table value of 1.984. Abstract

The modern human being can be said to be very reliant on the ease and convenience of the internet. In the middle of the 2000s, the Internet had a boom that transformed it into a platform for disseminating content. As a result, numerous blogs, video sharing websites, and social networking sites appeared that year. Additionally, social media can be used for the good of individuals, communities, businesses, and organizations. Youtube is one form of social media that is popular with people, groups, businesses, and organizations. Credibility is the perception of a communicator based on his point of view, which offers an evaluation of the personality or character of a communicator. For a communicator, credibility is a quality they need to possess since it allows them to transmit facts and thoughts with confidence. The purpose of this study is to ascertain the trustworthiness of educational information on YouTube and its impact. Why is that? to the followers' informational requirements. A Likert scale is used to collect data through online surveys or questionnaires as part of the quantitative research methodology. According to the study's findings, followers of a YouTube account may be more interested in receiving information if it is credible. Why is that? How come, in the eyes of a YouTube account's followers? The information displayed is a subjective evaluation of the procedure or system employed by the YouTube account holder. Why is that? How come, in the eyes of a YouTube account's followers? The information displayed is a subjective evaluation of the procedure or system employed by the YouTube account holder. Why is that? in producing valuable material that meets the community's overall information demands. The conclusion is that the reliability of the content (X1) on the Youtube account has a favorable affect on raising interest in the need for information (Y). Abstract

Ojek online berbasis internet, such as Go-jek, can make the populace more modern if theywant to be engaged and help with daily needs. Communication between drivers andpassengers might become strained during the Go-jek delivery process, which makes thesubject eager to carry out this study with the goal of understanding and describing the typeof communication used by the two main government agencies in Kota Batam. Abstract

This research focuses on the transformation of Travelodge into AP Premier Hotel, a new city hotel brand, which emphasises the importance of a well-conceived communication strategy for brand development. Using various data collection techniques, including interviews, documentation review, and observation, this research highlights the critical role of communication strategy in shaping the brand identity of AP Premier Hotel Batam. The findings underline that effective communication patterns are essential to build brand awareness and a positive image for AP Premier. The research concludes that the communication strategies used are aligned with the principles of marketing and branding, inspired by Jean-Noël Kapferer's theory. The emphasis on service excellence in communication activities resulted in three different patterns: linear, interactional, and transactional. Through these patterns, this research shows the cultivation of brand awareness and a good brand image for the AP Premier brand.

Abstract

Adolescents are among the most widely associated with technological development. Adolescence becomes a time when a person who is on a violent rampage searches for their identity and their experiences. It also leads to where many teenagers easily follow things done by others such as forming a good self-image, they want to be admired, they want to gain recognition by the public, and they want to show their existence through the experiences they feel. It's the same with the 17 Batam Negeri High School students who have an Instagram account. For some students, not only using Instagram as a medium to share information and communications, but also making Instagram a place to share experiences and a place to complain. There is even one student who has 2 Instagram accounts. The purpose of this study is to analyze and know the experiences, shapes, patterns, activities, and how Frontstage and Backstage users second account on 17 Batam State High School students. This study uses qualitative methods with phenomenological approaches, which are based on a person's subjective or phenomenological experience and use Dramatic analysis (as a theory). The results of this study are how communication experiences, forms and patterns of communication, communication activities, as well as Front stage and Back stage on users of 17 Batam State High School students' seccond accounts.

Abstract

This research analyzes the strategic role of Instagram account @TelkomAkses_Batam in shaping the positiveimage of PT Telkom Akses in Batam. With a qualitative descriptive method, the focus is on the communicationand strategy aspects of the company in the operational office of PT Telkom Akses Batam. Data collectioninvolves interviews, observation, documentation, and literature study. The company implemented acommunication policy with emphasis on verbal communication and Telegram group chat media. A planned CSRstrategy shows the company's positive commitment to the community. The management of the@telkomakses_batam Instagram account involves several divisions, demonstrating a collaborative approach.Diversification of Instagram content is necessary to maintain audience interest. Continuous CSR programs andincreased positive communication can increase viewer understanding. Employee engagement can be improvedthrough inter-divisional collaboration and creating a proactive work environment. This research provides an indepth insight into the effectiveness of corporate communication strategies through Instagram in shaping apositive image in the digital era

Abstract

In the development of the hotel and tourism business in Indonesia, hotels with various star ratings use different communication strategies. This highlights the importance of strong marketing strategies to achieve the hotel's profit targets. Hotel AP Premier Batam is a 4-star hotel in Batam. This study aims to understand the marketing communication strategy of Hotel AP Premier in increasing public trust through a qualitative approach using Michael Eugene Porter's Competitive Positioning theory. Data collection methods included observation, interviews, and documentation with the research object being the Sales & Marketing department of Hotel AP Premier. The results show that the form, pattern, and marketing communication strategy to increase public trust align with Michael Porter's competitive positioning theory, which considers five competitive forces in the market: competition among similar companies, the entry of new competitors, the development of substitute products, the bargaining power of suppliers, and the bargaining power of consumers. Through this model, the study offers a strong framework for understanding the market position of Hotel AP Premier Batam and how it can achieve a competitive advantage.Keywords: Communication strategy, marketing, forms of communication, communication patterns.
