Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan motivasi dan hasil belajar peserta didik melalui penerapan model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning (PBL) berbantuan media PhET pada materi gaya kelas VII di SMPN 3 Sumber. Latar belakang penelitian ini didasarkan pada rendahnya motivasi belajar dan capaian hasil belajar peserta didik yang belum memenuhi Kriteria Ketercapaian Tujuan Pembelajaran (KKTP), serta dominannya peran guru dalam proses pembelajaran. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Psenelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) dalam dua siklus yang masing-masing terdiri atas tiga pertemuan. Data dikumpulkan melalui angket motivasi belajar dan tes hasil belajar kognitif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa motivasi belajar peserta didik mengalami peningkatan dari siklus I ke siklus II, dengan seluruh aspek motivasi (attention, relevance, confidence, satisfaction) berada pada kategori tinggi dan mendekati kategori sangat tinggi. Hasil belajar kognitif juga meningkat secara signifikan, dengan rata-rata nilai naik dari 68,08 menjadi 79,23 dan ketuntasan klasikal meningkat dari 62% menjadi 77%. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model PBL berbantuan media PhET mampu meningkatkan motivasi dan hasil belajar peserta didik secara efektif. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan kepada pendidik agar menggunakan pendekatan pembelajaran berbasis masalah dan teknologi yang adaptif terhadap karakteristik peserta didik dalam rangka menciptakan proses belajar yang aktif, bermakna, dan menyenangkan.

Abstract

Abstract: Background. The rapid development of digital technology requires educators to innovate in teaching to maintain student engagement. Aims. This community service program aimed to enhance teachers' competence in creating interactive learning media using the Wordwall platform. The training was held at SMPN 3 Sumber on December 14, 2024, and involved 40 teachers from various subjects. Methods. Activities were conducted using an andragogical approach, including interactive lectures, demonstrations, and hands-on practice. Result. The evaluation results showed a highly positive impact, with 96% of participants expressing satisfaction. Teachers appreciated the relevance of the materials (96%), the digital tools used (90.6%), and the instructors' effectiveness (95.8%). Moreover, 92.8% of participants demonstrated a very high understanding of the basic concepts of Wordwall. This training successfully improved teachers' digital literacy and their ability to design, engage, and effectively engage in interactive learning activities.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan media pembelajaran Smart Box untuk meningkatkan keaktifan siswa pada mata pelajaran Ilmu Pengetahuan Sosial (IPS) materi Tradisi dan Budaya di kelas III SDN 1 Lemahabang. Metode yang digunakan adalah penelitian dan pengembangan (R&D) dengan model Borg & Gall yang disederhanakan menjadi enam tahap: identifikasi potensi dan masalah, pengumpulan data, desain produk, validasi desain, revisi produk, dan uji coba lapangan. Data diperoleh melalui observasi, wawancara, studi literatur, serta angket validasi dan respon siswa. Validasi oleh dua ahli media dan dua ahli materi menunjukkan tingkat kevalidan masing-masing 98% dan 98,21%, termasuk dalam kategori sangat valid. Respon siswa terhadap media menunjukkan tingkat kemenarikan sebesar 95,83% (sangat menarik), sedangkan keefektifan media mencapai 88,8% dalam kategori sangat efektif. Smart Box dirancang sebagai media interaktif berbentuk kotak tiga dimensi yang dilengkapi dengan gambar budaya, spinwheel, dan permainan edukatif. Hasil penelitian menyimpulkan bahwa Smart Box merupakan media yang valid, menarik, dan efektif untuk meningkatkan keaktifan siswa dalam pembelajaran IPS pada materi Tradisi dan Budaya.

Abstract

Critical thinking skills represent essential competencies for 21st-century education, yet Indonesian elementary students consistently demonstrate limited analytical capabilities. Project-Based Learning (PBL) offers a constructivist approach that potentially addresses these deficiencies through authentic, collaborative problem-solving experiences. This study investigated PBL's effectiveness in enhancing fourth-grade students' critical thinking skills within integrated science education. A pre-experimental One Group Pretest-Posttest Design was employed with 25 fourth-grade students at SD Negeri 1 Watubelah, Cirebon Regency. The intervention implemented six PBL steps over three weeks focusing on magnetism concepts. Critical thinking skills were assessed using a validated 20-item test based on Archer's indicators (validity coefficients 0.65-0.82, reliability α = 0.87). Data analysis included paired t-tests and normalized gain calculations, complemented by qualitative observations of student engagement. Significant improvements were observed from pretest (M = 27.8, SD = 9.2) to posttest (M = 91.2, SD = 6.4) with t = 21.18 (p < 0.001). The normalized gain of 0.87 indicated high practical significance according to Hake's criteria. Qualitative observations revealed enhanced student participation, collaborative skills, autonomous learning behaviors, and communication abilities. Students transitioned from passive recipients to active problem-solvers demonstrating analytical thinking and creative solution development. Project-Based Learning significantly enhances critical thinking skills among fourth-grade students in science education contexts. The substantial effect size validates PBL as an effective alternative to traditional teacher-centered instruction in Indonesian elementary schools. These findings support constructivist learning theories and provide empirical evidence for PBL implementation within the Independent Curriculum framework. Future research should employ larger samples and controlled designs to strengthen generalizability across diverse educational contexts.
