Abstract

The digital era has an impact on education and the quality of learning. Digital devices are a necessity in classroom learning. Bringing equipment to class for learning is still considered 'unnatural' for educators and educational institutions. On the other hand, the device can be used as a medium to find materials in classroom learning. The purpose of this study is to examine the quality management of learning in higher education by bringing their own tools (BYOD) to classroom learning to improve 21st century skills in the Islamic Education Management study program at UIN KHAS Jember. This research is qualitative research, using observations, interviews and documentation as data collection and interactive data analysis. This research used 45 students as informants. The results showed that the personal devices used by students in classroom learning brought benefits to critical, creative, collaborative, and communicative thinking skills. The benefits of using BYOD in the classroom are motivating and improving student participation in class discussions.

Abstract

Bullying is increasingly prevalent in educational environments, including in Islamic educational settings like pesantren. This research aims to examine conflict management strategies for bullying within these settings using persuasive communication methods. The study employs a qualitative methodology with a library research approach. Findings indicate that bullying in pesantren is generally triggered by internal factors, such as personality and family upbringing, as well as external factors, like strict pesantren culture, seniority, and limited parental supervision. Based on the research results, persuasive communication strategies have proven effective, as they not only reduce potential conflicts but also create a conducive environment for character development among students. Thus, persuasive communication can serve as an alternative method for addressing conflicts in pesantren.

Abstract

       AbstractLearning difficulties are a problem that can arise anywhere and can be experienced by anyone. Learning difficulties are not always caused by low intelligence, but can also be caused by non-intelligence factors. Parenting has a role in children's development, including their personality and also in their learning process. This research was conducted to find out the causes of learning difficulties experienced by school-age children. The method used is qualitative research, with an explanatory case study. The subject in this study is a 10-year-old school-age child. The data collected in this research is by using interview, observation, intelligence test (CFIT test), and graphic test. The results showed that the learning difficulties experienced by the subject were not only caused by intelligence factors, but also influenced by the parenting received by the subject in the family. The subject has an intelligence level below average, which puts him in the category of slow learners. In addition, permissive parenting and excessive attention from family members, especially the grandmother, also contributed to the subject's learning difficulties.Keyword; Learning Difficulty Issues, Psychology, Primary School Age AbstrakKesulitan belajar merupakan masalah yang dapat muncul di mana saja dan dapat dialami oleh siapa saja. Kesulitan belajar tidak selalu disebabkan oleh faktor intelegensi yang rendah, tetapi juga dapat disebabkan oleh faktor non-intelegensi. Pola asuh orang tua memiliki andil dalam perkembangan anak, termasuk kepribadiannya dan juga dalam proses belajarnya. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui penyebab kesulitan belajar yang dialami anak usia sekolah. Metode yang digunakan adalah penelitian kualitatif, dengan studi kasus eksplanatoris. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah seorang anak usia sekolah yang berusia 10 tahun. Data yang dikumpulkan dalam penelitian ini adalah dengan menggunakan metode wawancara, observasi, tes inteligensi (tes CFIT), dan tes grafis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kesulitan belajar yang dialami oleh subjek selain disebabkan oleh faktor inteligensi, juga dipengaruhi oleh pola asuh yang diterima oleh subjek dalam keluarga. Subjek memiliki tingkat intelegensi di bawah rata-rata, yang menempatkannya dalam kategori anak lambat belajar (slow learner). Selain itu, pola asuh yang permisif dan perhatian yang berlebih dari anggota keluarga, khususnya nenek, juga berkontribusi pada kesulitan belajar yang dialami subjek.Kata kunci: Masalah Kesulitan Belajar, Psikologi, Usia Sekolah Dasar

Abstract

Conflict reflects differences, conflicts, or inconsistencies between interrelated elements, which can have positive (functional) or negative (dysfunctional) impacts. In the context of bullying, conflict management includes steps to overcome bullying behavior that often occurs in elementary schools. This study aims to develop a conflict management model based on a therapeutic approach and character values in handling bullying in elementary schools. The study used a literature study method with data collection techniques through borrowing books from the library, reviewing journal articles, and recording and processing data from relevant literature. The main findings of this study are the development of a model consisting of four stages: (1) Conflict Identification, which involves early detection of bullying through surveys and observations; (2) Mediation by Teachers, with the application of a dialogic approach and restorative-based resolution; (3) Character Education, through the integration of anti-bullying values in the curriculum; and (4) Collaboration between Parents and Schools, to strengthen emotional support and consistency of rules at home and school. This model is implemented through case simulations, teacher training, and workshops involving students and parents. The analysis results show that this approach can create a more inclusive environment, encourage positive behavioral changes, and minimize dysfunctional conflicts in elementary schools. The study recommends the wider application of this model with the support of government policies and the development of the capacity of educators.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the application of religious culture in improving students' emotional intelligence at Ulul Albab Islamic Elementary School (SD) Jember. Qualitative methods were used in this study, involving observation and interview techniques as data collection instruments. A total of 13 informants, including religious teachers, class teachers, the principal and other school staff, were selected by purposive sampling. Data analysis used the Miles Huberman and Saldana model, considering data validity through triangulation of techniques and sources. The results showed that the implementation of a culture of religiosity at SDS Islam Ulul Albab Jember, such as morning tadarus, reciting and memorizing chapters of the Quran, reading istighfar and doing ablution when making mistakes, as well as the implementation of dhuha, dzuhur, asr prayers in congregation, contributed to improving students' emotional intelligence. These practices create a supportive and empowering learning environment, where students can develop better understanding and management of emotions. This research provides a deeper understanding of the importance of integrating religious culture in educational contexts to improve the quality of learning and holistic student development. The implications of this research provide guidance for educational institutions to adopt and strengthen religious cultural practices in an effort to improve students' emotional intelligence.

Abstract

The initiation of reading stands out as a fundamental skill for students, serving not only as a foundational ability but also as a tool to comprehend the acquired knowledge during their school learning journey. This activity is specially designed for students entering elementary school, playing a pivotal role in their academic development. The syllabic (silaba) method, designed as a syllable-based approach, dissects words into syllables and subsequently reassembles them into complete words. The primary objective is to assist students who encounter difficulties in reading to better grasp and understand words.The primary objective of this study is to assess the effectiveness of the syllabic method in enhancing the initial reading activities of Class II students at MI AL-Ma’arif 02 jombang-jember. Employing a qualitative descriptive method, this research was conducted at Banjarsari 01 Elementary School, situated in Banjarsari Village, Ciawi District, Bogor Regency. A qualitative approach was employed throughout the study, and an interview guide instrument served as the primary tool for data collection. The study incorporated various data collection techniques, including observation, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis technique employed in this study was an interactive approach, aligning with the model proposed by Milles and Huberman. The findings of this study suggest that the syllabic method is indeed an effective approach for initiating reading activities, significantly aiding Class II students at MI AL-Ma’arif 02 jombang-jember in developing their reading skills. Additionally, the syllabic method is considered beneficial for teachers, providing a straightforward and easily comprehensible instructional medium for facilitating learning activities. The required instructional materials for teachers using the syllabic method are both simple and universally understood by students. Notably, the utilization of the syllabic method in the beginning reading activities for Class II students aligns with the specified criteria for the achievement of students' reading activities

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of digital flipbook usage on students' learning motivation in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) at SDN 12 Sanur Denpasar. Based on initial observations, many students showed a lack of interest in PAI lessons due to conventional and less interactive teaching methods. The implementation of digital flipbooks was carried out through planning, execution, and evaluation stages. The findings indicate that digital flipbooks increased students' participation in learning, facilitated material comprehension, and provided opportunities for independent learning. Additionally, students' average scores improved from 70 to 85 after the implementation of this learning media. However, challenges such as limited technology access for some students and teachers' lack of skills in creating digital media were identified. Therefore, it is recommended to provide teacher training to enhance the effectiveness of digital learning media.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the effectiveness of project-based science and social science (IPAS) learning in instilling ecological awareness from an early age. The focus of the study is to understand how the project-based learning approach can improve students' understanding of environmental conservation and identify challenges and supporting factors in its implementation. This study uses a library research method with a qualitative approach. Data were collected from primary and secondary sources such as scientific journals, textbooks, research reports, and curriculum documents. Data analysis was carried out through literature studies, content analysis, and triangulation to ensure the accuracy of the findings. The research process includes source collection, document selection, data extraction, and information synthesis. The results of the study indicate that project-based science and social science learning is effective in improving students' ecological awareness through practical activities such as tree planting, recycling, and environmental observation. However, its implementation faces obstacles such as lack of resources, teacher training, and integration with the curriculum. Educators have mixed views, with some supporting this approach because it is considered contextual, while others complain about the lack of support. In addition, there were protests from the community who considered project activities to interfere with academic focus. Student academic outcomes also varied, with some schools reporting significant improvements, while others showed no significant changes. In conclusion, project-based learning has great potential to increase ecological awareness, but its success depends on the support of teachers, schools, and communities, as well as good integration with the cycle.

Abstract

Pendidikan merupakan pengetahuan, keterampilan dan sikap yang harus dimiliki setiap siswa, terlebih pendidikan karakter juga harus berakar pada jiwa siswa, banyak siswa yang kurang memahami karakternya dan melanggar akhlak. Realitas yang terjadi saat ini sangat menyedihkan. Degradasi moral generasi muda seakan merupakan rangkaian kalimat yang cocok untuk menggambarkan kondisi atau perilaku moral generasi milenial di era sekarang. Banyak anak muda Indonesia yang berperilaku tidak normal, seperti perkelahian antar teman, tidak menghormati orang tua, bahkan pembunuhan, pencurian, dan kejahatan seksual. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif bersifat studi pustaka (Library research). Guna mendapatkan hasil penelitian yang valid maka diperlukan seleksi sumber, baik sumber data primer maupun sumber data sekunder. Sumber data primer penelitian ini kitab Ta’limul Muta’alim karya Imam Az-Zarnuji. Sedangkan sumber data sekunder adalah buku dan kitab yang berkaitan dengan pendidikan karakter yang relevan. Konsep Pendidikan Karakter dalam Kitab Ta’limul Mutaâllim karya Imam Az-Zarnuji yaitu niat dalam mencari ilmu, memilih ilmu, guru dan teman, mengangungkan ilmu dan Ulama, kesungguhan, kontinuitas, dan semangat. Metode belajar, tawakkal, dan wara’ saat belajar. Hal ini sangat mempengaruhi setiap pelajar dalam mencapai kesuksesan intelektual.
