Abstract

Cigarette smoke is a source of free radicals. Cigarette smoke is a component of Aerosols and free gases that contain large amounts of chemical compounds. Cigarette smoke can be divided into two: main smoke and side smoke. The main smoke of cigarettes inhaled by smokers is known to cause a buildup of harmful substances and causes of oxidative stress so that research is carried out using ESR Leybold Heraeus. The sample used is a smoke sample from two types of cigarettes that are popular in Indonesia. The measurement is done by pulling smoke directly into the measurement tube. Then the resonance pattern is observed and the external magnetic field is calculated and the value of the lande factor is based on frequency and current data. Measurements result showed resonance in both types of cigarettes, at a frequency of 32.4-70.8 MHz and obtained values of lande factors that vary and have a value between 1.9-2.1 with two acquisition values that are outside the range that is 1.8368; and 2.2060. There are differences in the number of resonances that occur for each sample. This difference can be due to differences in the constituent of content and the texture of cigarettes which can affect the results of the combustion process.

Abstract

Manufacturing and testing of eye lens dosemeter have been carried out using TLD detector CaSO4: Dy in beta radiation field. The results indicated a good response in reproducability and homogeneity with the acquisition of the response variations below 10%. The response to variations in beta energy indicated that the beta with energy below 0,7 MeV, represented by 85Kr, could not penetrate the filter layer, while high energy beta of 90Sr/90Y was able to penetrate the filter and provided response to 137Cs of 0.44 ± 0.07. Response to incidence angle of beta radiation showed dependence on the angle of incidence of irradiation. The response indicates the photon energy dependence on the energy below of 100 keV with angle response of radiation incidence on the energy 65 keV showed good results with the difference in readings against the irradiation of 0° maximum 20 %.

Abstract

Gaharu Gyrinops Vertegii (Gilg.) Domke merupakan jenis gaharu yang banyak di ekploitasi di daerah NTB. Nilai ekonomis Gaharu berbanding lurus terhadap kualitasnya, warna merupakan salah satu parameter fisis untuk menentukan kualitas gaharu. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengklasifikasikan Gaharu Gyrinops Vertegii (Gilg.) berdasarkan sebaran nilai derajat keabuan menggunakan pengolahan citra gaharu. Metode yang digunakan adalah pengolahan citra gaharu berdasarkan gray scale level, Gaharu dibagi menjadi empat kelas berdasarkan warna dominan, dalam penelitian ini dibagi menjadi kelas A, B, C, dan D. Dari citra gaharu dalam bentuk RGB dikonversi dalam bentuk gray scale kemudian diolah dalam bentuk histogram citra untuk mengetahui sebaran derajat keabuan dan intensitasnya. Dari hasil pengolahan gambar dapat dilihat bahwa terjadi pergeseran posisi puncak, perbedaan nilai skala keabuan, dan lebar kurva. Nilai skala keabuan pada masing-masing kelas A, B, C, dan D  berada pada nilai derajat keabuan dan intensitas berturut turut 26, 35, 62 dan 121 dengan posisi puncaknya berturut-turut 43.300, 42400, 30350, 31750. Nilai skala keabuan yang kecil menunjukkan kayu gaharu memiliki warna hitam dan sebaliknya, sedangkan posisi puncak menunjukkan nilai gray scale dominan pada masing-masing kelas. Artikel ini sudah dikoreksi berdasarkan pernyataan koreksi di link : https://doi.org/10.29303/emj.v1i1.59

Abstract

Pembelajaran fisika pada hakikatnya merupakan pembelajaran yang harus berpusat pada siswa, dengan konsep pembelajaran konstruktivisme. Ketepatan metode pengajaran serta keterampilan mengajar guru merupakan faktor penentu dalam meningkatkan motivasi dan kognitif siswa. Oleh karena itu, guru hendaknya memiliki keterampilan tersebut. Metode eksperimen merupakan salah satu metode yang bisa mengimplementasikan konsep konstrutivisme tersebut. Akan tetapi, kendala yang umum dihadapi oleh guru dalam penerapan metode tersebut adalah kurangnya ketersediaan alat-alat praktikum penunjang pembelajaran. Berdasarkan permasalahan tersebut, maka kegiatan pengabdian ini dilaksanakan dengan tujuan pemperkuat konsep metode pembelajaran eksperimen dengan mengembangkan media pembelajaran sebagai solusi ketidaktersediaannya alat praktikum dan sekaligus untuk meningkatkan keterampilan mengajar guru fisika SMA se-kabupaten Lombok Utara. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan di SMA Negeri 1 Tanjung Kabupaten Lombok Utara, dengan peserta guru-guru fisika yang tergabung dalam MGMP mata pelajaran fisika SMA kabupaten Lombok Utaran. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan ini adalah (1) metode FGD dan Direct Instruction, (2) Metode Demonstrasi dan (3) Metode Problem Based Learning (PBL). Adapun perancangan alat peraga pada kegiatan ini berbasis mikrokontroler menggunakan Arduino Uno. Hasil kegiatan ini (1) tersusunnya perencanaan pembelajaran fisika menggunakan metode eksperimen, (2) Terinstalasinya program Arduino Uno di laptop masing-masing peserta, (3) terbangunnya sebuah prototype sistem pengukuran jarak menggunakan sensor ultrasonic BMP05 dari kerja masing-masing kelompok, (4) meningkatnya keterampilan guru mengajar fisika dengan metode eksperimen.

Abstract

Madu merupakan salah satu sumber pangan yang biasa dikonsumsi di indonesia.. NTB merupakan salah satu daerah yang terkenal dengan produksi madu, dimana NTB merupakan daerah penghasil madu yang cukup tersohor di indonesia. Terdapat 2 jenis madu yang umum dikenal di wilayah NTB yaitu madu manis (apis) dan madu trigona. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengidentifikasi madu asal NTB menggunakan analisis FTIR. Dimana FTIR diketahui dapat memberikan gambaran struktur dan jenis gugus fungsi dari suatu sampel. Pada penelitian ini digunakan 3 sampel madu NTB dari petani madu yang kemudian disebut sebagai Madu S, Madu T dan Madu. Ketiga madu ini kemudian dianalisa menggunakan FTIR Spectrum Two PerkinElmer. Kemudian juga dilakukan uji proksimat pada sampel. Pada penelitian ini diperoleh bentuk pola serapan sampel yang mirip. Dari Analisa FTIR diperoleh serapan pada ketiga sampel pada bilangan gelombang 3400 cm-1, 1415 cm-1, 778 cm-1. Dari Analisa FTIR diidentifikasi adanya antioksidan dan flavonoid. Semakin gelap warna dari sampel madu yang dianalisa memberikan nilai serapan yang semakin tinggi. . Katakunci: FTIR, Madu, bilangan gelombang, NTB

Abstract

Studies on the analysis of variations in CT number uniformity values for CT-Scan images has been conducted. This study aims to evaluate the image quality value by uses various tube currents (mAs) in Siemens merk water phantom irradiation to assess the value of image quality. A Siemens Somatom Scope CT-Scan with current variations of 180 mAs, 200 mAs, 220 mAs, 240 mAs, and 260 mAs was used. The image results were then anlyzed for quality through the CT number uniformity value test. Using a marker size of 12.56 cm2, the ROI method was applied at five different picture points: the center, 3, 6, 9, and 12 o'clock. For each current variation used in this study, 3 irradiation was carried out and 5 image slices were taken from each irradiation.This resulted of the analysis the CT number uniformity value was shown to be significantly reduced by the tube current strength (R2=0.9896, p-value<0.05), according to the research. The test showed that the uniformity CT number value decreased from 0.217 HU to 0.031 HU as the tube current strength was increased, bringing it closer to the reference value (0 HU). The consistency CT number values acquired in this study remain within the 2 HU tolerance limits established by BAPETEN.

Abstract

Brachytherapy requires accurate dosimetry to ensure patient safety and treatment efficacy. The Reference Air Kerma Rate (RAKR) is a key parameter in the Treatment Planning System (TPS) that quantifies the strength of radioactive sources. This study aims to evaluate the conformity between RAKR values certified by the manufacturer and those measured using a Well-Type Ionisation Chamber at the Radiotherapy Sub-Installation of Central General Hospital Prof. Dr. I.G.N.G. Ngoerah. Measurements were conducted from December 2023 to March 2024 using a SAGINOVA/ECKERT ZIEGLER brachytherapy unit. The RAKR values were obtained through electrometer readings, adjusted for air density, and compared to the manufacturer’s certification using established equations. The results were assessed using the ±3% tolerance threshold set by AAPM Report No. 46 (1994). The measured RAKR values consistently showed negative deviations from the certified values: -1.96 %, -2.69 %, -2.53 %, and -2.42 %, all within the acceptable ±3% limit. This supports the conformity and operational integrity of the device. These findings confirm that short-term RAKR measurements at the hospital align with certification values, ensuring reliable dose delivery for brachytherapy. Future research should investigate long-term calibration stability and the impact of environmental factors to refine quality assurance protocols.
