Abstract

Utilization of entomopathogenic fungi as biological control agents is one way to avoid the negative impact of chemicals on the environment. Entomopathogenic fungi that have been widely used for biological pest control are Beauveria bassiana, Metarhizium anisopliae, Aspergillus sp., Nomuraea rileyi. The purpose of this study was to determine the presence of fungi entomopathogenic in the Brassica chinensis vegetable farm, to find out the entomopathogenic characteristics of fungi obtained from each Brassica chinensis planting soil sample, to know the highest entomopathogenic fungi obtained from the exploration of entomopathogenic fungi and to study the results of biology student learning semester VI in microbiology courses. To obtain the entomopathogenic fungi, an exploration technique was carried out using the insect bait Tenebrio molitor placed in the rhizosphere of the Brassica chinensis plant. The preparation in this study involved taking samples from 5 villages in Berastagi, namely Barus Julu, Persadanta, Rumah Rih, Paribun, and Suka Julu by determining 5 diagonal soil sample points. The results of fungi entomopathogenic exploration from 5 villages in Berastagi, there are 3 genus of entomopathogenic fungi in Brassica chinensis rhizosphere, Metarhizium, Beauveria and Aspergillus. The highest fungi entomopathogenic diversity was obtained by Beauveria fungi with a diversity index of 0.3628 while the lowest diversity was obtained by Aspergillus with a diversity index of 0.0343 overall. The results of learning to students indicate that, the ability of students at the time of the pre-test obtained an average value of 59.26 with a standard deviation of 12.8 while at the post-test students obtained an average value of 73.68 with a standard deviation of 8.3 Based on the acquisition of grades on average there is an increase in student learning outcomes in entomopathogenic fungi submateri.

Abstract

The Utilization of sludge oil palm processing plant is still not optimal, therefore it is necessary to study the use of sludge as an alternative supply of nutrients in the soil that is used as an additional planting medium. This research contributes to environmental knowledge courses according to the syllabus and RPS and the output products of this study are learning modules. This study aims to determine the effect of the addition of palm oil dry mud waste to the growth rate of mustard plants (Brassica rapa) on the study of Environmental Knowledge, and to compile the module as the development of teaching materials from the Environmental Knowledge course module. This study used a completely randomized design with six treatments and four replications. The results of this study can be concluded that the administration of sludge is very influential in increasing nutrient and growth of mustard plants, namely: plant height (cm), leaf surface area (cm2), number of leaf strands, and stem length (cm).

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui karakteristik biologi dan ekologi Chelonia mydas di Pulau Berhala untuk pembuatan media pembelajaran bio marine yang berupa video pembelajaran. Sampel penelitian ini adalah famili Chelonidae ditemukan di Pulau Berhala.Penelitian ini dilakukan melalui observasi langsung. Pengambilan data dilakukan dengan Metode Deskriptif Eksploratif. Dari hasil penelitian yang dilakukan di Pulau Berhala menunjukkan bahwa data dari spesies famili Chelonidae yang ditemukan hanya spesies Chelonia mydas. Indentifikasi dari spesies Chelonia mydas yang ditemukan dengan cara mengamati karakteristik biologi dan ekologi dan mendeskripsikan secara akurat. Pembuatan media pembelajaran Bio Marine yang berupa Video Pembelajaran merupakan bagian integral dari proses pembelajaran. Dengan penggunan Video Pembelajaran sangat berperan aktif dalam pembelajaran secara media

Abstract

Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan hasil pendapatan tangkapan ikan bagi warga dusun V yang hampir 98% bekerja sebagai nelayan pencari ikan tradisional. Selain dikarenakan kondisi geografis yang sulit yaitu dasaran laut yang hampir didominasi lumpur dan pasir tentunya nelayang juga tidak memiliki solusi untuk membuat ikan berkumpul disatu tempat atau biasa disebut “pengumpul ikan (rumpon)”. Warga yang sebagian besar hanya berpenghasilan 100-250 rb perhari ini merasa cukup sulit untuk membuat sebuah perangsang ikan atau rumpon. Tujuan dari kegiatan ini adalah memecahkan masalah warga dalam meningkatkan hasil tangkapan ikan nya, melatih nelayan warga dusun V untuk mampu menggunakan teknologi perekaman titik menggunakan smartphone dari akun google. Dan meningkatkan psikologis kesadaran masyarakat dusun V Desa Pematang Kuala dalam menjaga ekosistem laut dan habitat ikan secara alami tanpa merusak namun membuat “rumah”ikan yang baru sehingga ikan berkumpul dititik rumpon dijatuhkan. Dari hasil kegiatan ini peningkatan pendapatan warga nelayan dusun V meningkat sebanyak 78% dari pendapatan mereka sehari-hari.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the species composition, abundance, and diversity of macrozoobenthos in the Waters of Mangrove Forest Dusun XIV Tanjung Rejo Village, Percut Sei Tuan Subdistrict, North Sumtra. Field survey methods and purposive sampling techniques were carried out by taking macrozoobenthos samples using standardized quadrats along randomly placed stations in the mangrove forest. The data obtained were then analyzed using the Shannon-Wiener diversity index, Simpson's dominance index. The results of research on the diversity of macrozoobenthos species obtained 17 species with 3 phyla, 3 classes, 8 orders, 16 families, and 16 genus. Measurement of physical and chemical factors of water obtained an average temperature of 28-31°C; average pH 7.2-7.6; average salinity 22-28°C; and the substrate is mud and silty sand. The type of macrozoobenthos that dominates in the area is Gastropoda. Macrozoobenthos diversity index value (H') 2.3905 at station I, 2.2567 at station II, and 2.1379 at station III, categorized as moderate. Based on these results, the Mangrove Forest Waters Area Dusun XIV Tanjung Rejo Village, Percut Sei Tuan Subdistrict is still within the threshold of good quality standards for the life of macrozoobenthos biota, which means that the environmental conditions are still not too polluted. This study makes an important contribution to the understanding of mangrove forest ecology and the importance of conservation and management of mangrove ecosystems as an integral part of the ecosystem

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan menguji kemampuan spesies dari kelas Bivalvia terhadap tingkat pencemaran air laut yang merupakan masalah klasik dan tidak pernah ada habisnya. Tidak hanya itu, hewan bercangkang (Bivalvia) ini pun mampu menyaring kandungan logam berbahaya dari komponen baja paduan yang memiliki tingkat racun sangat tinggi yang sering terkandung dalam limbah pabrik, yaitu merkuri. Namun, mungkin juga tidak semua spesies dari kelas Bivalvia memiliki kemampuan yang sama dalam menyerap atau menyaring air laut. Bagi nelayan, mereka hanya perlu mencari kerang kemudian hasilnya dikumpulkan ke pengepul lalu dijual, tanpa mereka ketahui betapa pentingnya kemampuan kerang ini bagi ekosistem, terutama dalam kemampuannya menyaring air laut yang tercemar. Berdasarkan latar belakang masalah tersebut, peneliti bertujuan untuk menguji secara langsung dan melihat kemampuan beberapa spesies yang umum atau terkenal yang banyak ditemukan oleh nelayan di pantai timur provinsi Sumatera Utara. Pengujian akan dilakukan secara langsung terhadap 10 jenis kerang yang banyak dijumpai di pantai timur Sumut yaitu Kerang Besar, Kerang Batik/Salome, Kerang Biru, Kerang Kapak, Kerang Kecil, Kerang Belang/Tiger, Kerang Panjang, Merak Kerang, Kemudi Kapal Kerang, Kerang Mutiara. Ke-10 jenis kerang tersebut dipilih secara purposive berdasarkan jumlah terbesar dan ukuran cangkang terbesar. Penelitian ini akan menggunakan teknik analisis Duncan One Way Anova atau Rancangan Acak Lengkap. Pengujian sampel akan dilakukan pada air laut di Pantai Mangrove Percut Sei Tuan. Hasil pengujian akan memberikan kesimpulan mengenai implikasi atau keterlibatan Bivalvia dalam membantu mengatasi pencemaran air laut dan pengaruhnya terhadap ekosistem dan manusia yang mengkonsumsinya. Hasil penelitian ini juga akan bermanfaat sebagai acuan dan sumber acuan penelitian selanjutnya untuk penelitian selanjutnya dalam menggali potensi bioindikator dari filum invertebrata lainnyaKata Kunci : Implikasi, Bivalvia, Biofilter, Pencemaran, Paluh Merbau

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menginventarisasikan karakteristik morfologi tanaman, dan jumlah jenis tanaman hias famili Araceae (Talas) yang terdapat di Kawasan Taman Madirsan, khususnya dusun XI dan XII Desa Bangun Sari Baru, dimana hasil inventarisasi ini dapat dijadikan pengembangan bahan ajar Biologi. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan observasi langsung dan pencatatan spesies tanaman Araceae di Kawasan Taman Madirsan, khususnya pada dusun XI dan XII Desa Bangun Sari Baru dibulan Juni-Agustus 2024 dengan metode deskriptif eksploratif dan teknik purposive sampling. Dari hasil penelitian ini ditemukan 12 genus dengan jumlah spesies 20 jenis tanaman hias Famili Araceae, yaitu: Aglaonema commuttatum (Aglaonema), Alocasia longiloba (Alocasia), Alocasia machorrhizos (Alocasia), Alocasia micholitziana sander (Alocasia), Anthurium andreanum linden (Anthurium), Anthurium scherzerianum (Anthurium), Caladium biscolor (Caladium), Colocasia esculenta (Colocasia), Dieffenbachia seguine (Dieffenbachia), Epipremnum aureum (Epipremnum), Epipremnum pinnatum (Epipremnum), Monstera deliciosa (Monstera), Philodendron erubencens (Philodendron), Philodendron hederaceum (Philodendron), Philodendron martianum (Philodendron), Philodendron xanadu (Philodendron), Spathiphyllum cannifolium (Spathiphyllum), Syngonium podophyllum (Syngonium), Syngonium wendlandii (Syngonium), dan Thaumatophyllum xanadu (Thaumatophyllum)
