Abstract

This study aims to determine the use of code mixing in the video study of Ustazah Mumpuni Handayayekti by using the analysis of sociolinguistic theories. The results of this study are using mixed code in lecturing Ustadzah Mumpuni Handayayekti into the use of: (1) mixed code of Javanese word forms, (2) mixed code of Javanese clause form codes, (3) mixed code of Balinese word forms, and (4) mixed code phrase of Javanese language. In addition, mixing the code out on the use (1) mixed form codes for Arabic clauses, (2) mixed form codes for Arabic words, (3) mixed form codes for Arabic phrases, and (4) mixed form codes for Indonesian words. Mixing the code in and mixing the code out used by Ustadzah Mumpuni Handayayekti in his lecture, shows that he is a multilingual speaker and can use variations of language well in the right context.

Abstract

Kitab Musarar is one of the famous works of Syaikh Subakir described the condition of Java both before and after the arrival of Syaikh Subakir in the 13th century in Java on the mission of Islamization. This study uses a qualitative research method based on the Kitab Musarar which has been rewritten in an old spelling Indonesian translation printed book titled Kitab Musarar Syaikh Subakir-Asal Muasal Tanah Jawa karya Sukri (2011) and the book of Melacak Jejak Syaikh Subakir: Riwayat Penumbalan Tanah Jawa dan Walisanga Generasi Pertama written by Romadhon (2017). The results of this study are: (1) The existence of the early history of the world until the entry of Islam in Java in the 13th century in the Kitab Musarar by Syaikh Subakir, (2) The existence of figures who played a role of rukyat in Java in the 13th century based on the Kitab Musarar by Syaikh Subakir, and (3) The story of sangsara era and Ratu Adil profil in the Kitab Musarar by Syaikh Subakir. Overall, it can be seen that there are traces of Javanese Islamization brought by Syaikh Subakir in the 13th century based on the Kitab Musarar.

Abstract

This research discusses various local wisdoms of the Javanese people in dealing with the COVID-19 Pandemic. Plague which means “pagebluk” in Javanese is responded with cultural attitudes such as understanding the wabah (pandemic) in the framework of titen science, jamasan heirloom as a method, and herbal medicine treatment as a method. This research makes use of Social Anthropology theory. The method used is descriptive qualitative. While the research background is Ngawi Regency, East Java. Data were collected from observations and interviews with several sources and literature study. The results of this study show that each region in Indonesia, especially Java, has its own way of responding to the arrival of the COVID-19 outbreak. With existing local wisdom, the Javanese people are trying to deal with this pandemic in their own way and culture.
