Abstract

One of the primary ingredients in avocado peel skin ash (Persian americana mill) is potassium, which can be utilized as an alkali source while producing soap. Avocado skin has a high potassium potential, which makes it ideal for extraction. Burning the potassium first and then continuing the extraction with distilled water as a solvent are two methods for obtaining potassium. In this investigation, the avocado peel was dried for 24 hours at 110 °C. A crusher is used to crush dried avocado skin into a powder that is then burned in a furnace for 5 hours at 500oC to create avocado skin ash. Variable extraction times are 30 minutes, 60 minutes, and 90 minutes, and the variable mass of avocado skin ash employed in this procedure is 5 g, 7.5 g, and 10 g. The variables for the extraction temperature are 60ºC, 70ºC, 80ºC. The optimum ash mass condition for this method is 7.5 gr, the best extraction temperature is 80oC, the best extraction duration is 90 minutes, and the best potassium concentration is 0.3 N. X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) analysis reveals that the predominant component in avocado skin ash is K2O.

Abstract

Cooking oil is used by the general public to produce waste known as used cooking oil, both in households and small or large industries.  The procedure most often used to manage used cooking oil waste is purification.  Adsorption with adsorbents is an effective and efficient used cooking oil purification process.  Adsorption with breadfruit peel powder is one method for removing used cooking oil.  The aim of this research is to determine the absorption capacity of breadfruit peel adsorbent (Artocarpus altilis) on used cooking oil originating from fast food restaurants by using a heating process as well as the mass and temperature of the best breadfruit peel (Artocarpus altilis) adsorbent that can purify used cooking oil.  The results of this research were the use of breadfruit (Artocarpus altilis) peel powder adsorbent with a mass of 8;  9;  10;  11 and 12 grams by varying the temperature 80;  85;  90;  95;  100oC and heating time 45 minutes.  Adsorption products were analyzed for water content, peroxide value and free fatty acids.  The best water content is at a temperature of 100oC, namely 0.07%;  0.06%;  0.07%;  0.05% and 0.03% with an initial water content of 2.46%, the best peroxide value is at a temperature of 100 oC with a mass of 11 grams, namely 8 mek/g with an initial peroxide value of 30 mek/g and the best free fatty acids  at a temperature of 100 oC with an adsorbent mass of 12 grams of 0.20% with an initial free fatty acid of 1,33% .

Abstract

This paper seeks to analyze Shazaf Fatima Haider’s How It Happened using postcolonial feminist framework and through close textual analysis, deconstructing the binarism of gender discrimination in the novel. Women within the traditional patriarchal structures are presented through Dadi’s prescriptive role as she plays in the life of women through putting across structured belief system which dominates women’s existence. Dadi's admonitions, such as the notion that "good girls marry boys of their mothers’ choice," reinforce the binary division between obedient women and rebellious ones, stripping women of agency in both marriage and emotional autonomy. These Social, institutional and cultural norms served and depicted women as only valuable in the kitchen or as sex objects that silence women and value them in comparison to men. By caricaturing these gender roles, Haider addresses social and institutional unfreedom for women still judged by society as unfit if they don’t conform to traditional gender roles. Mainstreaming the conflict between women’s power and desire for freedom, Haider’s novel raises questions about colonial gendered perspectives, opposing their continuation, and calls to rethink these constructions to free women from these male-dominate definitions. Thus, through such binaries, How It Happened helps to deepen a conversation on gender, culture and postcolonial feminism.

Abstract

Fuel Gas Booster Compressors play a critical role in process industries by increasing the pressure of fuel gas from low to high levels to meet operational requirements. This study aims to optimize the performance of the Fuel Gas Booster Compressor (K-750X B) at Unit 75 PT. X using Aspen HYSYS simulation. Optimization is conducted by analyzing the effects of operational parameters, including flow rate, pressure, and feed gas temperature from the dehydration unit, on compressor performance. The research methodology involves collecting actual operational data from the Distributed Control System (DCS) and field measurements, simulating the process using Aspen HYSYS, and validating simulation results with real operational data. The simulation results indicate significant discrepancies between actual and theoretical operating conditions, particularly in terms of flow rate, pressure, and temperature. The actual flow rate was found to be 2.125 m³/s, significantly lower than the theoretical 5.616 m³/s. Additionally, the feed suction and discharge temperature and pressure exhibited declines, impacting the compressor’s efficiency. This study confirms that simulation-based optimization provides valuable insights into improving the operational efficiency of Fuel Gas Booster Compressors

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memanfaatkan keong mas dan ikan asin rijek sebagai bahan penunjang peningkatan nutrisi pada peracikan pakan ikan lele yang mengandung nutrisi berupa protein dan karbohidrat. Metode penelitian dilakukan dengan merekayasa perbandingan campuran bahan baku dan bahan penolong kemudian dianalisa kandungan nutri berupa protein dan karbohidrat. Parameter yang diamati adalah pertambahan nutrisi dalam pakan dengan menggunakan alat Spektrometer UV-VIS. Pada hasil penelitian penggunaan dedak beras dan ikan rucah 1,5 : 0,5 dengan campuran keong mas dan ikan asin rijek 2,0 :0,0 diperoleh peningkatan kadar protein tertinggi yaitu 27,77%. Sedangkan pada penggunaan dedak beras dan ikan rucah 0,5 : 1,5 dengan campuran keong mas dan ikan asin rijek 1,0 :1,0 diperoleh peningkatan kadar protein tertinggi yaitu 47,73%. Pengujian kenaikan karbohidrat pada penggunaan dedak beras dan ikan rucah 2,25 : 0,75 dengan campuran keong mas dan ikan asin rijek 0,0 :3,0 diperoleh peningkatan karbohidrat tertinggi yaitu 41,70%. Sedangkan pada penggunaan dedak beras dan ikan rucah 0,75 : 2,25 dengan campuran keong mas dan ikan asin rijek 0,0 :3,0 diperoleh peningkatan kadar karbohidrat tertinggi yaitu 46,74%.Keyword: Ikan lele, Keong mas, Karbohidrat, Protein

Abstract

Kegiatan program Produk Teknologi yang Didesiminasikan KepadaMasyarakat (PTDM) telah dilakukan dengan mendesiminasikan mesinpengering rempah Aceh bertipe pengeringan vakum kepada pelaku usahabubuk bandrek siap saji di Desa Kumbang Kecamatan Syamtalira AronKabupaten Aceh Utara. Hasil desiminasi pengeringan rempah menggunakanmesin Oven Drying Vacuum menunjukkan hasil yang signifikan baik terhadapkualitas bubuk rempah berdasarkan kadar air 11% telah memenuhipersyaratan kualitas bubuk rempah kering sesuai SNI 01-3709-1995. Kondisioperasi pengeringan rempah menggunakan mesin Oven Drying Vacuumberbeda untuk setiap jenis rempah dan mesin ODV baik digunakan pada rangetemperature 60-700C. Semakin tinggi suhu pengeringan maka semakin cepatwaktu pengeringan yang tidak sempurna karena pada suhu tinggi panas hanyamampu melepaskan kandungan air pada permukaan bahan saja.

Abstract

Kegiatan Pengabdian Kemitraan Masyarakat (PKM) telah dilakukan kepada kepada mitra PKM yaitu usaha udang dan bileh crispy Ibu Yanti di Desa Gampong Tempok Teungoh Kecamatan Banda Sakti Kota Lhokseumawe. Berdasarkan analisis situasi dan identifikasi permaslahan mitra diperoleh fokus permaslahan mitra pada bidang produksi dan bidang pemasaran.  Kegiatan PKM ini bertujuan untuk mengatasi fokus permasalahan mitra dengan mengimplementasikan teknologi penggorengan menggunakan Mesin Gas Deep Fryer type 2 (dua) tabung berkapasitas 12 kg dan menggelar workshop digital marketing. Tujuan implementasi mesin Gas Deep Fryer adalah dapat menghemat waktu penggorengan, menghemat pemakaiana minyak goreng dan menghemat bahan bakar gas, sehingga implementasi mesin Gas Deep Fryer dapat meningkatkan produktifitas usaha mitra baik segi kualitas maupun kuantitas.  Mesin Gas Deep Fryer dilengkapi dengan filter dan pengatur suhu mampu meningkatkan produktifitas. Tujuan menggelar workshop digital marketing adalah memberikan pengetahuan digital marketing kepada mitra sehingga mitra dapat menggunakan platform e-commerce sebagai media pemasaran produknya. Hasil kegiatan PKM menunjukkan proses produksi mitra menjadi lebih mudah, efektif dan cepat dengan terjadinya penghematan pemakaian gas dan penghematan 50% waktu penggorengan, serta maksimal  penggunaan minyak.  Sebelum implementasi mesin Gas Deep Fryer, setiap waktu 5 kg udang/bileh mebutuhkan minyak 4 liter dengan waktu penggorengan/kg adalah 30 menit.  Setelah implementasi mesin Gas Deep Fryer, waktu penggorengan adalah 15 menit/kg dan 4 liter minyak dapat menggoreng 12 kg udang/bileh.  Terjadi peningkatan kualitas crispy dari udang dan bileh yaitu tekstur crispy lebih renyah, warna crispy seragam kuning emas, aromanya lebih harum, rasanya lebih gurih, jumlah produk meningkat 60%, omzet meningkat 35%, kualitas udang bileh crispy teruji secara laboratorium dengan kadar air 3,47% memenuhi SNI 7760:2013 (kadar air5%). Dapat disimpulkan implementasi mesin Gas Deep Fryer efektif meningkatkan produktifitas usaha udang dan bileh crispy ibu Yanti.

Abstract

Penerapan teknologi peniris minyak (Spinner) telah dilakukan kepada pelakuusaha bawang goreng kemasan. Penerapan mesin spinner diharapkan dapatmemecahkan permasalahan pelaku usaha terhadap bidang produksi. Pelakuusaha bawang goreng kemasan dalam kegiatan penerapan Iptek Masyarakatadalah UMKM Bawang Goreng Lima Dara berlokasi di Desa Mon GeudongKota Lhokseumawe Kecamatan Banda Sakti. UMKM Bawang Gorengmemiliki legalitas resmi dari Pemerintah Republik Indonesia dengan NomorInduk Berusaha (NIB) 1255000710424 dan Izin Usaha Mikro Kecil (IUMK)diterbitkan pada tanggal 02 Juli 2021. Selama ini bawnag goreng yangdihasilkan sudah banyak digemari masyarakat hanya saja muncul permaslahanpada dasar kemasan terendapkannya minyak, sehingga bawang goreng limadara tidak dapat disimpan dalam waktu yang lama. Mesin spinner dirancangberbahan stainless steel food grade sehingga aman digunakan untuk produkmakanan. Hasil demonstrasi menunjukkan bahwa dalam waktu 2 (dua) menitmesin spinner mampu memisahkan 87,5% minyak dari bawang goreng.Bawang goreng telah diuji kualitas berdasarkan parameter kadar air dan kadarminyak. Hasil yang diperoleh kadar air bawang goreng 4,9% dan kadar lemak28%, memenuhi SNI 7713:2013 tentang standar kualitas bawang goreng.Penerapan teknologi spinner terbukti meningkatkan produktivitas dan kualitasbawang goreng teruji secara laboratorium.

Abstract

Research on the manufacture of polyurethane as an iron coating material with an eggshell filler has been done. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of eggshell weight as an additive on the preparation of polyurethane as an iron coating material and to determine the weight effect of Methylene Diphenyl Diisocyanate (MDI) on the manufacture of polyurethane as an iron coating material with an eggshell filler. By mixing Jatropha oil polyols, Methylene Diphenylene Diisocyianate (MDI), and eggshell, then applied to an iron plate. Polyurethane coatings formed in the analysis of thermal adhesion properties of coatings, Thermal (TGA), functional groups (FT-IR), crystal structures (XRD), and coating morphology (SEM). The results obtained which in addition to the ratio of polyol: isocyanate: eggshell shell of 7: 3: 5% obtained the best results that have the strongest adhesion and has a good mixing structure, and has a heat resistance of 300 0C

Abstract

This study aims to critically examine the compatibility of Bitcoin and blockchain technology with Islamic economic and legal principles within the context of a rapidly evolving digital financial system. Employing a literature review method based on the PRISMA approach, this research analyzes five authoritative classical Islamic jurisprudence texts alongside 40 scholarly articles from credible academic sources. The primary focus lies in evaluating how these emerging technologies correspond with key Islamic financial values, particularly the prohibitions of riba (interest), gharar (excessive uncertainty), and maysir (speculation/gambling), while also exploring their potential for innovation in building a Shariah-compliant financial infrastructure. The findings demonstrate that while Bitcoin, due to its high volatility and speculative nature, poses significant concerns under Shariah principles mainly due to its proximity to elements of maysir and gharar blockchain technology itself offers considerable promise. As a decentralized and transparent ledger system, blockchain can enhance justice (‘adl), trust (amanah), and efficiency in Islamic financial transactions. It supports the reduction of transaction costs, improves transparency, and eliminates reliance on intermediaries aligning with core objectives of Islamic economic ethics. Furthermore, blockchain technology provides a foundation for innovative financial instruments that uphold Shariah compliance, such as asset-backed stablecoins, automated smart contracts for contracts like murabahah or mudarabah, and real-time Shariah audits. The study finds increasing institutional support across Southeast Asia and the Middle East, where Islamic finance authorities, governments, and fintech developers are actively working to embed blockchain into compliant financial ecosystems. In conclusion, although Bitcoin's speculative characteristics challenge its Shariah compliance, blockchain technology opens significant opportunities to innovate and strengthen Islamic digital finance. The realization of this potential depends on sustained collaboration among Shariah scholars, technologists, regulators, and financial institutions to ensure all developments are guided by the objectives of maqasid al-shariah. This research contributes to the ongoing discourse on how Islamic values can shape the future of ethical and inclusive financial technologies.
