Abstract

This research type was research and development which is conducted at SMP Negeri 8 Tarakan at VII class in Academic Year 2018/2019. The objective  of this research was to develop the  pocket book based on local wisdom as a learning source on number material that was suitable and practical for the seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 8 Tarakan.The development model used was ADDIE model modification. The ADDIE model consists of five stages that were consisted of: Analysis, Design, Development, and Evaluation. However, because of limitation time and limitation of the research objectives, so the researcher modified the ADDIE model modification by limiting the stage only in development stage. The product testing stage through two stages those were expert assessment and user response. In expert assessment was validated by the material experts, display experts and linguists. In the small group trials was carried out by 2 mathematics teachers and 6 students. On the field trial carried out by 26 students.The result of analysis shows that the product of pocket book based on local wisdom was developed based on validation by the material experts got a very suitable category with the percentage of 85.71%, display experts got a very suitable category with the percentage of 86.25% and linguists got a very suitable category with the percentage of 85 %. Whereas based on the result in the field by the responses of student users got the percentage of 83.5% with a very practical category. Because the pocket book already fulfilled the suitable and practical requirements which consisting of aspects of the content or material feasibility, display feasibility, language feasibility, and practicality of user responses, so  pocket book based on local wisdom can be used as a learning source on number material that suitable and practical for seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 8 Tarakan

Abstract

AbstractThe purpose of this research is to clarify first to see the influence of the model (IOC and Conventional) on mathematics learning outcomes. Second, look at the influence of motivation (high and low) on students' mathematics learning outcomes. Third, look at the effect of interaction with the model (IOC and Conventional) and student motivation on students' mathematics learning outcomes. The activity was carried out at SMPN 5 Tarakan in the even semester of 2019-2020. The study used a quasi-experiment with 2x2 factorial. The population is class IX students of SMPN 5 Tarakan. Samples were taken by simple random sampling. Class IX-1 is the experimental class and class IX-7 is the control class. Data were collected using a description test and questionnaire questions for motivation to learn mathematics. Descriptive methods include the mean and standard deviation. Inference method by analyzing the variance of two factors. The analysis at the 5% significance level shows that the model (IOC and Conventional) has a p-value of 0.036, which means that it affects students' mathematics learning outcomes. Motivation to learn mathematics has an effect on student learning outcomes at a p-value of 0.000. And there was no effect of mutual interaction between the model and motivation on the mathematics learning outcomes of students in class IX of SMPN 5 Tarakan with a p-value of 0.222.Keywords: Inside Outside Circle (IOC), Student’s Learning Achievement, Student’s Learning Motivation.AbstrakTujuan penelitian adalah memperjelas pertama melihat adanya pengaruh model (IOC dan Konvensional) terhadap hasil belajar matematika. Kedua, melihat adanya pengaruh motivasi (tinggi dan rendah) pada hasil belajar matematika siswa. Ketiga, melihat adanya pengaruh interaksi bersama model (IOC dan Konvensional) dan motivasi siswa pada hasil belajar matematika siswa. Kegiatan dilaksanakan di SMPN 5 Tarakan pada semester genap 2019-2020. Penelitian menggunakan eksperimen semu dengan faktorial 2x2. Populasi adalah siswa kelas IX SMPN 5 Tarakan. Sampel diambil dengan cara simple random sampling. Kelas IX-1 adalah kelas eksperimen dan kelas IX-7 adalah kelas kontrol. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan tes uraian dan pertanyaan angket untuk motivasi belajar matematika. Metode deskriptif meliputi mean dan standar deviasi. Metode inferensi dengan menganalisis varians dua faktor. Analisis pada taraf signifikansi 5% menunjukkan bahwa model (IOC dan Konvensional) memiliki p-value 0,036 yang artinya berpengaruh terhadap hasil belajar matematika siswa. Motivasi belajar matematika berpengaruh terhadap hasil belajar siswa pada p-value 0,000. Dan tidak ditemukan adanya pengaruh interaksi bersama antara model dan motivasi pada hasil belajar matematika siswa di kelas IX SMPN 5 Tarakan dengan p-value 0,222.

Abstract

AbstractThe purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between the ability of early mathematics with the ability to understand mathematical concepts of eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 12 Tarakan. This type of research uses ex post facto research. The population in this study were all students of class VIII of SMP Negeri 12 Tarakan and research samples of students of class VIII-4 by using simple random sampling. Data collection techniques using instrument the ability of early mathematics test and the ability to understand mathematical concepts test with using Pearson Correlation test data analysis. Based on the analysis results obtained by the correlation coefficient values obtained by 0.674 and the value of r = 1. So that the relationship between the two variables is a strong relationship with a positive direction. The significance value of 0,000 0.05 which means rejecting H0 and accepting H1. Thay way there is a relationship between the ability of early mathematics with the ability to understand mathematical concepts of eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 12 Tarakan.Keywords: Ability of Early Mathematics, Ability to Understand Mathematical ConceptsAbstrakTujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahuihubungan kemampuan awal matematika dengan kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematika siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 12 Tarakan. Jenis penelitian menggunakan penelitian expost facto.Populasi pada penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 12 Tarakan dan sampel penelitian siswa kelas VIII-4 dengan menggunakan simple random sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan instrumen tes kemampuan awal matematika dan tes kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematika dengan menggunakan analisis data uji Korelasi Pearson.Beradasarkan hasil analisis diperoleh nilai nilai koefisien korelasi sebesar 0,674 dan nilai r = 1. Sehingga hubungan kedua variabel merupakan hubungan kuat dengan arah positif. Adapun nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,000 0,05 yang berari tolak H0 dan terima H1. Dengan demikian ada hubungan kemampuan awal matematika dengan kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematika siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 12 Tarakan.Kata kunci: Kemampuan Awal Matematika, Kemampuan Pemahaman Konsep Matematika

Abstract

Understanding the exact mathematical concepts in students can be obtained through an in-depth process by practicing existing problems in daily life known as contextual learning. Linear Algebra is one of the mathematics courses in the Department of Mathematics Education, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, University of Borneo Tarakan. But in practicing problem solving students need contextual questions so that the learning abilities obtained by students are more meaningful and students can find out the usefulness of Linear Algebra courses in daily life, especially on matrix material. Eigenvalues and eigenvectors in matrix material are one sub material that can be associated with the Leslie matrix. The Leslie Matrix is a matrix used to predict the number and rate of growth of female population in the City of Tarakan. The development of contextual questions related to the Leslie matrix includes calculating the predicted number of female population growth in one of the kelurahans in the City of Tarakan in the next 5 years and calculating the prediction of the rate of female population growth in one of the kelurahans in the City of Tarakan in the next 5 years.

Abstract

AbstractThis study aims to describe problem solving abilities in solving linear algebra problems of students majoring in Mathematics Education at UBT in online learning, for each indicator of mathematical problem solving ability. The type of research used in this research is descriptive with a quantitative approach. The data collection method uses a problem-solving ability test in solving linear algebra problems in the form of descriptions. The test of mathematical problem solving ability is carried out online using the Zoom and WhatsApp applications. The sample in this study amounted to 73 students who were taken using a saturated sampling technique. The results of this study indicate that the indicator for understanding the problem is in the high category with an average value of 77.35 or with a percentage value of 35.72%, the indicator for planning completion is in the medium category with an average value of 61.73 or with a percentage value of 28.51%, the indicator carries out completion. classified in the medium category with an average value of 42.83 or with a percentage value of 19.78%, and the re-examination indicator is classified as a medium category with an average value of 34.61 or a percentage value of 15.98%. Keywords: Mathematical Problem Solving Ability, Online Learning.AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan pemecahan masalah dalam menyelesaikan masalah aljabar linear mahasiswa jurusan Pendidikan Matematika UBT pada pembelajaran daring, untuk setiap indikator kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriptif dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Metode pengumpulan data menggunakan tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah dalam menyelesaikan masalah aljabar linear berupa uraian. Adapun pemberian tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika dilakukan secara daring menggunakan aplikasi Zoom dan WhatsApp. Sampel dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 73 mahasiswa yang diambil menggunakan teknik sampling jenuh. .Hasil penelitian ini menujukkan bahwa untuk indikator memahami masalah tergolong kategori tinggi dengan nilai rata-rata sebesar 77.35 atau dengan nilai persentase 35.72%, indikator merencanakan penyelesaian tergolong kategori sedang dengan nilai rata-rata sebesar 61.73 atau dengan nilai persentase 28.51%, indikator melaksanakan penyelesaian tergolong kategori sedang dengan nilai rata-rata sebesar 42.83 atau dengan nilai persentase 19.78%, dan indikator memeriksa kembali tergolong kategori sedang dengan nilai rata-rata sebesar 34.61 atau dengan nilai persentase 15.98%.Kata kunci: Kemampuan Pemecahan Masalah Matematika, Pembelajaran Daring
