Therefore, the main objective of this study is to provide an overview of state-of-the-art research on business model innovation by conducting a systematic literature review. The author's review provides a deeper understanding and detail on the main components of Business Model Innovation (BMI). Likewise, the author's research identifies the role of digitalization in Business Model Innovation. This study comprises a comprehensive literature evaluation with a particular focus on studies linked to the use of digital technologies and business models to understand better attempts to promote the usage of digital systems. This study aims to promote the academic conversation about how industrial companies might use digital technologies to innovate business models and create a sustainable industry. Abstract

As the waste problem grows in Pringsewu Regency, Lampung Province, management efforts are needed that are not only effective, but also involve active community participation. This research aims to examine community empowerment strategies through waste bank management as a step to support sustainable development. Using a qualitative descriptive approach and phenomenological methods, this research includes field observations, in-depth interviews and document analysis. The research results show that waste banks are able to increase public awareness and participation in waste management, starting from sorting, collecting, to recycling. Apart from reducing piles of unmanaged waste, this program provides economic benefits in the form of additional income from recycling, as well as positive social impacts such as increasing community solidarity. However, challenges in the form of a lack of supporting facilities and uneven public awareness need to be addressed immediately. This research confirms that collaboration between the community, government and other stakeholders is critical to stopping this program. With a more innovative and participatory approach, waste bank management can become an effective model for supporting sustainable development at the local level.

Abstract

E-democracy involves the idea that digital tools such as the Internet can enhance citizen participation in decision-making. However, Liberia, a post-conflict state, still faces challenges with e-democracy. This article explores the factors obstructing the realisation of e-democracy and its goal of fostering meaningful citizen engagement in Liberia. This study used a qualitative approach, collecting secondary data from peer-reviewed articles, official reports, newspapers, and other sources, and interactively analysed in the NVivo 12 Plus software. The analysis is based on Marianne Kneuer's theory of e-democracy, which comprises three indicators: free and equal access, e-participation, and e-government. The findings indicate that the implementation of e-democracy in Liberia encounters several obstacles: (i) limited free and unequal digital access due to weak legal protections for internet freedom, online intimidation, high internet costs, and low digital literacy; (ii) absence of e-participation as citizens struggle to access timely and reliable government information. Traditional media, especially radio, continues to be the primary source compared to digital platforms; (iii) lack of e-government services owing to ineffective online government platforms and unreliable digital services, which force citizens to rely on traditional methods to access public services.
