Abstract

The stock market, or capital market, serves as one of the instruments through which a country can enhance its economic performance. In addition to supporting companies and institutions in securing financing, the capital market also functions as an investment platform for the public. However, since President Prabowo Subianto stated that stock trading for ordinary people is equivalent to gambling, the capital market has come under significant public scrutiny. This study aims to examine the influence of risk management on the stock-trading behavior of fifth-semester students in the Sharia Economics Study Program at the State Islamic University of Fatmawati Sukarno Bengkulu. The research employs a descriptive qualitative approach using purposive sampling and involves 25 respondents. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and analyzed using the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that the application of risk management has a positive effect on students’ stock-trading behavior. Most respondents have implemented strategies such as cut-loss mechanisms and portfolio diversification, and they are able to manage their emotions when facing market fluctuations. However, a small number of students have not applied these practices optimally due to limited experience and financial literacy.

Abstract

Introduction: The rapid growth of the halal industry has intensified competition, requiring companies to focus not only on product quality but also on service quality. Customers evaluate services based on functionality, ethical standards, transparency, and compliance with Islamic values. Objective: This study examines the effect of Islamic service quality on customer satisfaction at Alfatih Business Center II of PT Herba Penawar Alwahida Indonesia (HPAI) in Bengkulu. Methods: An associative quantitative survey was conducted with 83 respondents selected via accidental sampling. Data were collected using a validated and reliable questionnaire (r > 0.2159; Cronbach's Alpha > 0.60) and analyzed using simple linear regression, t-tests, F-tests, and the coefficient of determination (R²). Results: Islamic service quality positively and significantly influences customer satisfaction, with the regression equation Y = 13.563 + 0.350X. The correlation coefficient (R = 0.696) indicates a strong relationship, and R² = 0.485 indicates that 48.5% of the variance in customer satisfaction is explained by service quality. Both t-test and F-test significance values were 0.000 (< 0.05), confirming statistical significance. Implications: Integrating Islamic ethics, transparency, and responsive service enhances customer satisfaction. In practice, improving employees' competencies in product communication, information clarity, and responsiveness to inquiries and complaints is essential for fostering customer loyalty in the halal herbal industry.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of labor force participation, unemployment, poverty, and zakat collection on economic growth in Bengkulu Province, Indonesia. Using a quantitative approach with associative analysis, the research employs time-series data from 2020 to 2024 obtained from the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) and the National Zakat Board (BAZNAS). The data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with SmartPLS 3.0 software. The results show that labor force participation has a positive and significant impact on economic growth, while poverty and zakat collection also significantly affect economic growth in a negative and positive direction, respectively. However, the effect of unemployment on economic growth was found to be negative but not statistically significant. The R-square value of 0.883 indicates that 88.3% of the variation in economic growth can be explained by the four variables in the model. These findings highlight the importance of workforce empowerment, poverty alleviation, and optimizing zakat distribution in supporting inclusive and sustainable economic development. Policymakers are encouraged to integrate Islamic fiscal instruments such as zakat into regional development strategies to enhance social equity and economic resilience.

Abstract

The effective governance of waqf institutions remains a persistent challenge in Indonesia, particularly at the regional level where standardized and context-sensitive performance measurement instruments are limited. This study aims to develop a Regional Waqf Performance Index (WPI) as a governance evaluation tool for waqf institutions in Bengkulu Province, adapted from and extending the National Waqf Index framework. Employing a qualitative research design, the study integrates a literature review with Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) involving five experts representing regulators, academics, and waqf practitioners. The Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) is applied to determine the priority weights of governance dimensions and indicators. The findings reveal that result/outcome is the most influential dimension of waqf governance performance, particularly the productive waqf ratio, followed by the impact dimension, which reflects socio-economic benefits such as infrastructure development and community welfare. Institutional capacity, operational processes, governance systems, and regulatory support function as critical enabling factors but are not perceived as ultimate indicators of governance success. Based on these results, the study formulates an integrated WPI Governance Model that illustrates the causal relationship between governance enablers, productive outcomes, and socio-economic impacts. The proposed WPI provides a structured, measurable, and policy-ready framework that supports evidence-based decision-making, enables performance monitoring, and strengthens the accountability and developmental role of waqf institutions at the regional level.
