Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between perceived organizational support and workload on Shopee Express courier partners in Padang City. This study uses a quantitative research method with a correlational approach. The data collection technique in this study uses a questionnaire with a Likert scale as a measuring tool for the research instrument. Some conclusions are as follows: (a) The workload of Shopee Express courier partners in Padang City is generally in the low category. This is indicated by the empirical mean value of the workload which is lower than the hypothetical mean, as well as the categorization results which show that the majority of respondents are in the low category. However, there are still respondents who are in the medium and high categories, which indicates a variation in work demands felt by courier partners; (b) Perceived Organizational Support (POS) on Shopee Express courier partners is generally in the high category. This is reflected in the empirical mean value of Perceived Organizational Support (POS) which is higher than the hypothetical mean, as well as the categorization results which show that most respondents perceive good organizational support, both in terms of justice, superior support, as well as awards and the work environment; and (c) There is a significant negative relationship between Perceived Organizational Support (POS) and workload. This finding indicates that the higher the perceived organizational support of courier partners, the lower their perceived workload. Conversely, lower perceived organizational support tends to be associated with increased workload experienced by Shopee Express courier partners.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the role of coping strategies in future anxiety among fresh graduates who are undergoing the transition from higher education to the workforce. A competitive labor market and increasing unemployment rates among university graduates may contribute to heightened future anxiety in this population. This study employed a quantitative approach using purposive sampling. The participants consisted of 289 fresh graduates who had completed their studies within the last 0–2 years. Data were collected using the Dark Future Scale to measure future anxiety and a coping strategies scale based on Carver’s framework, which includes problem-focused coping, emotion-focused coping, and less useful coping. Data analysis was conducted using multiple linear regression with SPSS version 26.0. The results indicated that coping strategies, both simultaneously and partially, did not have a significant role in predicting future anxiety among fresh graduates. These findings suggest that future anxiety is more strongly influenced by external and structural factors rather than individual coping mechanisms. This study provides empirical evidence that enriches the literature on post-graduation psychological dynamics and offers a foundation for future research to explore other relevant predictors of future.

Abstract

Loneliness is a psychological condition that arises due to a mismatch between expected and existing social relationships. This study aims to test the validity and reliability of the UCLA Loneliness Scale version 3 in measuring loneliness in college students in West Sumatra. A total of 200 active college students became participants selected through purposive sampling techniques. Data were collected using an online questionnaire and analyzed using the Cronbach's Alpha reliability test and exploratory factor analysis (EFA) and confirmatory factor analysis (CFA). The results showed that this scale has very high reliability (α = 0.955), as well as adequate item discrimination power (0.491–0.791). EFA identified two main factors, namely social loneliness and emotional loneliness, which were then confirmed through CFA with good model fit values (RMSEA = 0.079; SRMR = 0.049; GFI = 0.924). These findings support the two-dimensional structure of the loneliness construct and indicate that the UCLA Loneliness Scale version 3 is suitable for use in the Indonesian cultural context. This scale has the potential to be applied in psychological screening and campus-based interventions to address loneliness among college students.

Abstract

Final semester students are vulnerable to experiencing a decline in psychological well-being due to the demands of completing their thesis and academic pressure. This study aims to determine the contribution of self-compassion and academic stress to psychological well-being in final semester students at Padang State University. The study used a quantitative method with a predictive design. The study subjects were 263 final semester students who were preparing their thesis, selected using a probability sampling technique with a proportionate cluster sampling method. Data were collected through an online questionnaire using adapted Psychological Well-Being (Ryff), Self-Compassion (Neff), and Perceived Academic Stress (Bedewy & Gabriel) scales. Data analysis was performed using multiple linear regression. The results showed that self-compassion and academic stress simultaneously had a significant effect on psychological well-being (F = 85.791; p = 0.000) with a coefficient of determination R² = 0.398, meaning that both variables explained 39.8% of the variation in psychological well-being. Partially, self-compassion had a significant effect (t = 8.375; p = 0.000) and academic stress also had a significant effect (t = 4.676; p = 0.000). The regression equation obtained was Y = 16.407 + 0.455X1 + 0.281X2. This finding confirms the importance of strengthening self-compassion and managing academic stress to support the psychological well-being of final semester students.

Abstract

Although social support is considered to have an important role in the process of student adjustment, studies that specifically discuss the relationship between social support and the adjustment of students from Papua in the higher education environment remain limited. This study aims to determine whether or not there is a relationship between social support and the adjustment of students from Papua at Universitas Negeri Padang. This study employed a quantitative approach with a correlational design, involving 10 Papuan students as research participants. Data were collected through social support and adjustment questionnaires and were then analyzed using the Spearman-rho correlation test. The results showed a correlation coefficient of 0.431 with a significance value of 0.231, which means that there was no significant relationship between social support and adjustment. In addition, most students were in the moderate category for both variables. These findings indicate that social support is not the main factor affecting the adjustment of Papuan students at Universitas Negeri Padang. This study contributes to strengthening studies in educational psychology and cross-cultural student adaptation, while also providing practical implications that the adjustment of migrant students needs to be understood more comprehensively by considering factors other than social support.
