Abstract

Madurese corn is one of the leading agricultural commodities of Madura. Its opportunity is quite prospective, given that the national corn-based industry shows a positive trend from year to year. The problem is that the corn cultivation by the Madurese people is merely oriented to serving the purpose of meeting food needs rather than a profit-oriented one. This is because the planting costs are relatively expensive with a thin profit margin. Therefore, a cost-efficient strategy for local resources-based Madurese Corn Farming is required. The present study is expected to produce a strategic model for using local resources to reduce the costs of Madurese corn farming. This study was carried out in Gapurana Village, Kalianget Sub-district of Sumenep Regency Madura, using the qualitative descriptive approach. Data were collected by observation and in-depth interviews and analyzed using the Mils and Huberman model. The results showed that local resources, especially social resources in the form of solidarity ‘saleng abentho’, effectively reduced the costs of Madurese corn farming. This resource could be managed and institutionalized by involving farmer groups and policies to realize an industrial-scale Madurese Corn Farming.

Abstract

The use of information technology and social media among teenagers is a major concern in their psychological context. This research applies literature study methods to investigate the impact of social media use on the psychological well-being of adolescents. Based on data from the Ministry of Communication and Information (Kominfo), Indonesian teenagers are highly exposed to social media, with 79.5 percent of them being internet users. Social media has become integral to teenagers' daily lives, playing an important role in communication, social interaction, and the search for identity. This study focuses attention on aspects of anxiety and depression as indicators of adolescent psychological well-being. Research results suggest that excessive social media use, exposure to cyberbullying, and social comparison may contribute to increased levels of anxiety and depression. The literature study method is used to detail the influence of social media on teenagers, exploring information from various related literature sources. Additionally, this study identified moderating factors, such as offline social support and regulation of social media use, that influence the complexity of the relationship between social media and adolescents' psychological well-being.

Abstract

Tulisan ini membahas konsep etika dalam hubungan antara guru dan murid yang dijelaskan dalam karya K.H. Hasyim Asyari, "Al'alim wa Muta'alim." Fokus utama penelitian ini adalah untuk mengeksplorasi relevansi prinsip-prinsip etika tersebut dalam konteks pendidikan pesantren modern. Dengan menekankan pentingnya adab sebagai landasan interaksi, penulisan ini mengungkap tanggung jawab timbal balik antara guru dan murid dalam proses belajar mengajar. Penelitian ini juga menjelaskan bagaimana penerapan nilai-nilai etika dalam kurikulum pesantren dapat menciptakan lingkungan belajar yang positif dan berkontribusi pada pengembangan karakter santri. Melalui pelatihan bagi guru, program mentoring, dan evaluasi berbasis etika, pesantren dapat mempersiapkan generasi yang tidak hanya cerdas secara akademis, tetapi juga memiliki moralitas yang baik. Dengan demikian, konsep "Al'alim wa Muta'alim" tetap relevan dan penting dalam pendidikan Islam di era modern.

Abstract

Public speaking is an essential skill for santrias, the next generation of Islamic preachers. At Pondok Pesantren Assyafi’iyah Putra Bungah Gresik, this skill is enhanced through khitobah activities. This study aims to analyze the implementation of khitobah in improving santri’s speaking abilities, identify supporting and inhibiting factors, and evaluate its effectiveness in building their confidence when speaking in public. This research employs a qualitative method with a case study approach. Data was collected through observations, in-depth interviews with santri, administrators, mentors, and documentation of khitobah activities. The findings indicate that regular khitobah sessions significantly contribute to enhancing santri’s speaking skills. The main supporting factors for this program’s success include motivation from mentors, support from pesantren administrators, rewards for the best-performing santri, and consistency in conducting khitobah activities. However, several challenges remain, such as some santri's lack of confidence in speaking publicly, limited awareness of the importance of this skill, and insufficient experience in addressing an audience. To overcome these obstacles, the pesantren can optimize technology-based training methods, strengthen mentoring systems for less confident santri, and organize speech competitions to boost their competitive spirit. With more effective strategies and continuous improvements, khitobah can become a more optimal instrument in shaping santri who are not only proficient in public speaking but also have a deep understanding of the material they deliver.
