Abstract

Increased demand for LNG compels Indonesia to import to meet these needs. Substituting LNG with alternative fuel emerges as a strategy to reduce LPG imports. One such alternative can be used for LPG substitution is Dimethyl Ether. Dimethyl ether is a colorless compound possesses a heating value of 30,5 MJ/kg and an energy equivalency with LPG ranging between 1,56 – 1,76. Dimethyl ether can be directly synthesized from synthetic gas produced through natural gas reforming. Production of synthetic gas from natural gas employs the tri-reforming method which integrating steam reforming, dry reforming, and partial oxidation methods in a single reactor offering optimal energy utilization advantages and minimal environmental impact. Dimethyl ether production from synthetic gas is using direct synthesis method, combining methanol synthesis and dehydration in a single reactor providing high conversion advantages compared to indirect synthesis method. Simulation was carried out using process simulator program ASPEN Plus V11. Based on the simulation results, dimethyl ether yield and selectivity is 99.62%.

Abstract

The study area is located in Blok X, PT SILO, Sebuku Island, South Kalimantan. The geology of the study area is dominated by serpentinized ultramafic rocks, which have a high potential for the formation of lateritic iron minerals. The aim of the investigation of the area was to determine the vertical and horizontal distribution of the element contents and the association of the iron elements. Drilling, sample analyses using XRF, petrography and statistical analyses of correlation matrices and dendrograms were carried out. Fe, Ni, P, Co, Si, Mg, Cr, Al, Mn, Ca, Na, K and Ti were analyzed in 5.150 samples using the XRF method. The high iron content is found in the red limonite zone with 40-55% and in the yellow limonite zone with 40-52%. The lithology of the area with high iron content is ophiolitic ultramafic rock. In the vertical distribution profile, the high iron content is also found in the red limonite - yellow limonite zone. Based on the dendrogram analysis and the correlation matrix, the correlation of the Fe elements in the study area shows that the Fe elements are strongly correlated with the Co, Cr and Mn elements and generally with the Ni elements. Elemental iron is strongly negatively correlated with the elements Si and Mg.

Abstract

Poverty is a complex economic issue that involves multiple dimensions. Therefore, efforts are needed to find solutions to overcome or at least reduce the level of poverty. The objective of this research is to analyze the impact of the economic growth rate on the poverty level in the North Sumatra Province. The author employs research instruments such as literature reviews, documentation studies, and internet searches. The data are sourced from secondary data obtained from relevant agencies, especially the Central Statistics Agency (Badan Pusat Statistik) of North Sumatra, covering the period from 2017 to 2022. In analyzing the data, the author utilizes the technique of simple linear regression analysis. The results of data processing indicate that the Human Development Index (HDI) from 2017 to 2022 has an impact on the poverty level in North Sumatra from 2017 to 2022.
