Abstract

The research was conducted by taking a sample of 25 pieces of cell phone. Mobile radiation intensity measured electromagnetic waves are receiving phone calls. Measurements were made by placing two headphone in a different room with a range of ± 20 meters. Tool used to measure the intensity of radiation of electromagnetic waves emitted by mobile phone radiation is a measure C32-QX5. Values were collected before phone calls and performed on two conditions after receiving the phone call is a normal condition and the condition of the loudspeaker. The purpose of this study was to determine the intensity of the electromagnetic radiation emitted by mobile phones with different brands and types and determine their effects on health.Results showed that all cell phones that have measured the intensity of the radiation was still safe to use because it has an average radiation intensity 6 mW/cm2, which limits the intensity of radiation that can be tolerated by the body is equal to 10 mW/cm2. The use of mobile phones continuously for one hour a day in the ten-year timeframe, estimated the value of the intensity of radiation received by the body tissue will exceed safe limits.Key words: Intensity Radiation, Measures Radiation, Mobile phone and Health Risk

Abstract

Dye sensitized solar cell (DSSC) is one type of solar cell base on organic dyies. There are many dye is from extract of plants (leave, fruit and grass) are potential as dye sensitized. In this research, the extract is come from fruit and Leaf of soursop (annona muricata L). This study aims to find great efficiency resulting from the use of extracts of the fruit and leaves of the soursop base DSSCs solar cells. The deposition method are used in this research is the Doctor blade method. Based on the results obtained from this study, DSSC efficiency of the use of soursop leaf extract is equal to 0.00104% with dye absorption spectrum in the UV region of the range 241 nm - 399.5 nm while for Visible area 502.5 nm - 664.5 nm, absorption is highest wavelength at 290 nm with the absorbance of 5.373. As for the sample of soursop fruit is in the amount of 0.005832% with dye absorption spectrum is found only in the UV region of the range of 245.5 nm - 289.5 nm, the wavelength of absorption is highest at 289.5 nm with the absorbance of 5.434. The efficiency of the dye higher soursop fruit extract from the leaves of the soursop.

Abstract

The research aims to determine the level of radioactivity in the district of Mamuju and compare it with other land activities. and prove previous research on land activity in Mamuju is quite high. Measurements are done using the method of counting and identifying. That is identifying the radionuclides contained in the sample according to the Uranium and Thorium series. The tools used are LBC (Low Background Counter) and Gamma spectrometry. The results showed that: land activity in all samples has exceeded the limits established by PERKA BAPETEN and IAEA (International of Atomic Agency). The highest radioactivity results are found in the Takandeang region. And on all three samples showed the results of a very significant natural radionulida activity on vulnerable concentrations of activity in European countries.

Abstract

This research aims to design and make tools purifying sea water became drinking water using water pyramid system and applying to islands and coastal communities in Makassar. The method is performed comprising the steps of selecting the right tools and materials, designing and construction tools, analysis quality testing of water result evaporated and application of tools. The results research show that the water pyramid system is only counting on solar power can turn sea water in to drinking water. The evaporated water quality by using a pyramid system has resulted in the water ready to drink as eligible by the standards of No: 492/MENKES/PER/IV/2010 of April 19th 2010 concerning the quality of drinking water. The result of the application of system tools purifying sea water into drinking water using solar energy has produced an alternative solution for coastal communities and islands to reduce the difficulty of obtaining clean water, so that expenditure needs the purchase of clean water can be reduced.Keywords: Pyramid of water, evaporation, clean water crisis, coastal communities and islands.Penelitian ini bertujuan merancang dan membuat alat pemurni air laut menjadi air minum menggunakan sistem piramida air sekaligus menerapkan ke masyarakat pulau dan pesisir di kota Makassar. Metode yang dilakukan terdiri dari tahap pemilihan alat dan bahan yang tepat, perancangan desain dan konstruksi alat, analisis pengujian kualitas air hasil evaporasi dan penerapan alat. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sistem piramida air yang hanya mengandalakan tenaga matahari dapat mengubah air laut menjadi air minum. Kualitas air melalui hasil evaporasi menggunakan sistem piramida telah menghasilkan air yang siap diminum karena memenuhi syarat berdasarkan standar No: 492/ MENKES/PER/IV/2010 tanggal: 19 April 2010 tentang kualitas air minum. Hasil penerapan alat sistem pemurni air laut menjadi air minum dengan menggunakan energi surya telah menghasilkan solusi alternatif bagi masyarakat pesisir dan pulau untuk mengurangi kesulitan memperoleh air bersih, sehingga pengeluaran kebutuhan pembelian air bersih dapat berkurang.Kata Kunci:  Piramida air, evaporasi, krisis air bersih, masyarakat pesisir dan pulau.

Abstract

Research on Comparison Of Efficiency Dye Sensitized Solar Cell (Dssc) Of Henna Leaf Extract Water, Water Henna Flower Red And Purple (Impatiens Balsamina Linn) as a Dye Sensitizer in order to determine how much comparative efficiency of dye sensitisized solar cell (DSSC ) of water henna leaf extract, flower extract water henna red and purple as a dye sensitizer. The method used in this research is the method of Doctor Blade. Based on the results of measurements of I-V by using a source of light, the efficiency gained from henna leaf extract 0.008473333% water by absorption spectrum wavelengths are in the range of 245- 660.50 nm and an absorbance of 0.036. For efficient water henna red flowers of 0.007466667% of this extract is the wavelength range of 242.50 - 312 500 nm and absorbance of 4573, while for the water purple flowers girlfriend 0.004833333% efficiency results obtained in the wavelength range 238.50 - 350.50 nm and absorbance 4,617 , Henna leaf extract water as a dye sensitizer on sensitisized dye solar cell (DSSC) have the highest efficiency.

Abstract

Energy is one of the most hot issue today.  Energy consumption has increasing every year around the world but the sources  not increasing significanly.  Most of the energy source come from coal and oil with decrease every year. However oil and charcoal tends to be distinctive near future since it not renewable. Besides, it is polluting, environmentally harmful and rather expensive. As consequence  it is important to explore another renewable energy resources. One good example is solar energy, with using sel phovoltaics technology. Photovoltaics technology have been presented with higher efficiency and low cost in production such as perovskite solar cell.

Abstract

This research aims to find out the  quality of the water as it had been filtered from the single of active carbon, silica sand and gravel as the media filter. And also to know the quality of the water as it had been filtered from the combination of active carbon, silica sand and gravel as the media filter. The quality of the water filtered was measured by both physic and chemistry parameters, either parameters were measured and observed directly at the Modern Physic Laboratory of Science and Technology Faculty and at the Physic Chemistry Laboratory of  Science and Technology Faculty. The quality of the water which had been filtered by the aforementioned filter materials then met the requirement as pure water based on the water authentic quality standard (South Sulawesi Governor Rule Number 69, 2010), the water then can be used for the daily household necessity such as bathing, watering plant, laundry, and so forth.

Abstract

This study aimed to compare the effect of adding aggregate rice husk ash and ash hyacinth of compressive strength and water absorption in the brick material, as well as great knowing the composition of the addition of rice husk ash and ash water hyacinth on the brick material. This study uses a beam-shaped test samples with a length of 15 cm, a width of 8 cm and 6 cm high with the addition of fine aggregate composition that varies the normal, 10%, 20%, 30% and 40%. Brick-making with a mixture of sand, cement, water and a mixture of rice husk ash and ash water hyacinth. The drying process is naturally carried out for 28 days. Testing the compressive strength of concrete blocks using forney engine while testing for absorption of water soaking for 24 hours. Based on test results obtained by each parameter is for the compressive strength with samples of rice husk ash (SP) is minimum 24.87 kg / cm2 and the maximum is 98.04 cm / kg2, for ash water hyacinth (EG) as a minimum 65.41 kg / cm2 and the maximum is 111.69 kg / cm2 and the mixing of the two materials (SP + EG) as a minimum 43.53 kg / cm2 and the maximum is 66.56 kg / cm2 (according to ISO standards 03-0349-1989); the value of water absorption of rice husk ash (SP) is minimum 7.30% and maximum 19.32%, for the ash water hyacinth (EG) is minimum 1.21% and maximum 1.33% and for the mixing of the two materials (SP + EG) at a minimum of 8.05 and maximum 13.71 (according to the standard SNI03-0349-1989). Keywords: Brick, Compressive strength, Water absorption, Rice hulls, Water hyacin.

Abstract

Fresh and clean water is portable increasingly rare inurban areas.The rivers become the source was contaminated waste of all kinds, ranging from the elimination of organic waste, household hazardous waste to the industry. By adopting this approach the research system of water treatment with domestic sewagerecharge wells.This research was conducted in Garaganti Samata Gowa. This research is set in wells model (two wells model), firsly with tree wells and the secondly in single well which each well containing filtration materials. The results show that significant water output  are colorless, harmless and wasteless both in tree wells by partition and single well Infiltration wellshave two models. This indicated that the wells working good as like as expected. To show the quality and classify of the water output, samples are send to laboratory of Badan Lingkungan Hidup Daerah (BLHD) Province South Sulawesi, with descriptive method presented in tabular form. Result of from BLHD are compared with standart shows that the water output is clean (Peraturan Gubernur No. 69 Tahun 2010 about water quality standard limits an criteria for environmental life damaged), classified in Class III (Peraturan Pemerintah No. 20 Tahun 2010 about water quality and water allocation) and Peraturan Pemerintah No. 82 tahun 2001 about water quality criteria based on class
