Abstract

Supply chain management plays a role in ensuring the availability of raw materials from suppliers to the final product reaching consumers. Kelompok Ternak Mandiri Sejahtera (KTMS) is a cooperative that acts as a link between farmers and dairy processing consumers. However, research on theapplication of the supply chain concept at KTMS has not yet been explored. One commonly used approach to analyze supply chain conditions is the Food Supply Chain Network (FSCN). Therefore, the aim of this study is to analyze the fresh milk supply chain conditions at KTMS using the FSCNapproach to comprehensively understand the supply chain conditions. The research was conducted at the Kelompok Ternak Mandiri Sejahtera (KTMS) from June to July 2024. The method used was qualitative descriptive with observations and interviews using questionnaires relevant to the FoodSupply Chain Network (FSCN) framework with 17 respondents. The results of the study indicate that the fresh milk supply chain conditions at Kelompok Ternak Mandiri Sejahtera (KTMS), based on the Food Supply Chain Network framework approach, have been running smoothly, although transportation resources and technology resources remain weaknesses for both the farmers and KTMS.

Abstract

Cikedung District, a region with significant livestock potential, has yet to be comprehensively evaluated regarding cattle production and reproductive performance, agricultural waste utilization, cattle population, and rearing pattern diversity (intensive and semi-intensive). This study aims to formulate development strategies for local cattle breeding enterprises in the Cikedung area. Data were collected through observations and analyzed using the SOAR (Strengths, Opportunities, Aspirations, Results) framework and the AHP (Analytical Hierarchy Process). The findings indicate that the development of cattle breeding businesses in Cikedung is influenced by internal factors, including production performance, calf births, and increased availability of green fodder, as well as external factors, such as marketing technology and expanded market access. The priority strategies identified are (1) enhancing sales and marketing, (2) standardizing livestock quality, and (3) strengthening the capacity of livestock farmers to produce higherquality cattle at competitive prices, thereby increasing farmers income. Key recommendations include adopting group-based livestock management approaches, expanding market access, optimizing the use of livestock resources, and fostering collaborations with government entities and stakeholders to advance cattle breeding initiatives in Cikedung.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to create strategy for developing Human Resource competency post unloading from Camara Nusantara Cattle Ship. Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) method were used for search the best alternative strategy for developing Human Resource competency post unloading from Camara Nusantara Cattle Ship. The expert selection was carried out to obtain priority weights or rankings in the AHP structure to determine post-unloading HR competency development strategies. Based on the results of the analysis that has been done that the most influential factor is facilities and infrastructure with a weight of 0.377. The actor who has the most role in determining the strategy to increase the competence of human resources after unloading from cattle ship is an expedition company with a weight of 0.269, with the primary objective being to maintain the quality of livestock (0.464). The most appropriate alternative strategy in the hierarchy with a weight of 0.324 is conducting competency-based training and development.

Abstract

IPB D-1 chickens were produced from research on the application of molecular genetics with the aim of increasing the productivity and quality of Indonesian local chickens. This study aims to determine the perception of farmers at Sinar Harapan Farm Jampang Tengah Sukabumi about IPB D-1 chickens, which is viewed from the characteristics of innovations in IPB D-1 chickens. The research was conducted at Sinar Harapan Farm (SHF) which was located in Jampang Tengah District, Sukabumi Regency. Data collection was carried out in August 2020. Data collection was carried out by interviewing all 18 member farmers of Sinar Harapan Farm. SHF farmers’ perceptions of IPB D-1 chickens were measured from five characteristics of innovations in IPB D-1 chickens which included: relative advantage, compatibility, complexity, trialability, and observability. The results showed that the perception score for the aspect of relative advantage was 4.34, compatibility was 4.38, compatibility was 4.25, trialability was 4.13, and observability was 4.15. The farmers of Sinar Harapan Farm Jampang Tengah Sukabumi showed a good perception about IPB-D1 chickens.

Abstract

The slaughterhouse is responsible for the Occupational Safety and Health of the workers and other people related to the activities. The purpose of the study was to examine the implementation of the Occupational Health and Safety program at abattoir in DKI Jakarta. This study uses the Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment, and Risk Control (HIRARC) method as a guideline for identifying potential hazards and health problems in slaughterhouses. The results of the hazard severity assessment (Severity) based on risk analysis and risk evaluation show that the percentage of the impact of very light risk is 7%, light risk is 34% the impact of currently risk is 34%, the impact of heavy risk is 21% and the impact of fatal risk is 3%. The probability of an accident (likelihood) in the three abattoirs shows that abattoir C is less likely to have an accident with a percentage of 53%. The smaller of production capacity of an abattoir, the less likely an accident will occur. Risk control can be carried out by elimination, substitution, technicalcontrol, administrative control, and the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Abstract

An increase in the number of demands for lamb meat every year represents livestock business opportunity while the supply from smallholder farmers continues to decline, causing prices to rise yearly. Sustainability is important in the sheep farming business, which older farmer dominated. The objective of this research was to assess the inclination of the younger population towards pursuing careers as sheep farmers after participating at the Pusat Pelatihan Pertanian Pedesaan Swadaya (P4S) of Lembaga Kajian dan Pengembangan Potensi Umat (LKP2U) program in the Madiun Regency. Novelty of the research is the presentation of the latest information on youth interest in working as a farmer. Data collection was carried out in December 2022 using non-probability sampling. The data in this study were analyzed using a Likert scale to measure entrepreneurial interest and demographic factors. Furthermore, a binary logistic regression analysis was conducted to determine the relationship between the predictor and response variables. Youth interest after participating in the training program chooses an interest in working as a sheep farmer at 70%. Factors that influence youth interest after attending the training program towards employment as a sheep farmer are demographic factors namely age, marital status, duration of education, parents occupation, parents income, family members, and entrepreneurial factors (e.g personal, environmental, and social).
