Abstract

This research aims to integrate the perspectives of rationality and irrationality, which cannot be separated in capital market participants, especially young investors, in the decision-making process of stock investment. The research emphasizes whether financial literacy plays a significant role in investment performance. Additionally, overconfidence, considered a behavioral aspect, can act as an intermediary linking financial literacy and investment performance. Conducted on 77 students who invest in the investment gallery in Malang, using random sampling techniques, the research is an explanatory study with a quantitative approach through a questionnaire processed by SEM-PLS analysis using Smart PLS 3.0. The findings of this study highlight the positive influence of financial literacy on stock investment performance, while overconfidence was found to have a mediating effect on the relationship between financial literacy and stock investment performance. The characteristics of respondents who are young age with limited funds for stock investment lead to low expectations of returns, resulting in quick satisfaction and then affecting stock investment performance. Therefore, objective and appropriate decision-making approaches might not absolutely achieve success, as simple strategies such as behavioral biases or psychological factors can lead to optimal investment performance.

Financial flexibility is measured using the Altman Z-Score first edition (1968), involving ratios such as WCTA, RETA, EBITTA, MVETL, and STA. In the analysis, Altman's cut-off points from 1968 is used to categorize companies as financially flexible or less flexible. A company is considered to have financial flexibility if its Z-Score is above 1.81, while it is considered less flexible if it is below this threshold. The analysis results on the sample companies indicate that the energy sector is experiencing the impact of unexpected conditions, especially for companies listed as mainboard. The findings indicate that companies with financial flexibility demonstrate a better ability to navigate unexpected conditions.   Abstrak Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis fleksibilitas keuangan dalam perusahaan di sektor energi selama periode 2017 hingga 2022. BUM Desa is an extension of the corporation’s business ventures in rural areas. Financial income from the collaboration is less significant, so it is said to be the social goal of BUM Desa. This collaboration does not pose a problem since BUM Desa represents the corporation's interest and acts as directed. BUM Desa does not make policies and decisions that can increase its own profits. This collaboration is not entirely detrimental to BUM Desa, but does not contribute enough and has an economic impact on improving the village’s community welfare.

Abstract

The increasing issues of environmental condition has pressed the transition toward environmentally-friendly industry. Then, the demand in industry has caused the shift in the valuation for companies in their contribution to the environment as a form of advantages amid their effort of keeping their sustainability, and companies with the highest contribution to emission and pollution are no exception. Therefore, assessments on the effective environmental protection efforts that support firm value are required. The objective of this research is to identify the relationships between green innovation, Environmental Management Accounting (EMA), and firm value with the mediation of environmental performance. Using purposive sampling, 38 energy-sector companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange from 2019 to 2022 were selected as the sample. The direct and indirect relationships between the construct variables were analyzed quantitatively by utilizing PLS-SEM in SmartPLS 4. The results indicate that green innovation and EMA have significant impacts on firm performance, that green innovation significantly affects the companies’ environmental performance, and that environmental performance does not mediate the influences of green innovation and EMA on firm value.
