Abstract

This study aims to determine and analyze the role of the community in managing household waste in Pakpak Bharat Regency and to identify and analyze constraints in household waste management in Pakpak Bharat District. Research informants were selected by purposive sampling. Data collection techniques used through interviews and observation. Data Analysis Techniques used in this study are qualitative data analysis techniques. The results of the study indicate that the role of the community in Pakpak Bharat District in waste management is still less important. The community still lacks a role in reducing household waste sources, and has less role in handling waste in their respective environments. The obstacle factor in waste management is the lack of public awareness to reduce the source of waste by avoiding products with a lot of waste to reduce the volume of waste, not trying to choose products that can be refilled, not using shopping in place of packaging from sellers, not trying to choose packaging that can recycled, and less actively composting organic waste.

Abstract

The regulation of village existence through Law no. 6 of 2014 must be acknowledged as providing opportunities for the growth of village autonomy. A number of pressures in several articles provide discretion that allows village autonomy to grow along with several conditions that must be considered by the village government, village communities. UU no. 6 of 2014 at least encourages its autonomy to make all affairs that have been recognized and respected by the state, plus local scale affairs not just for display, but the accumulation of all assets that allow the village to get richer with the capital it has. This research uses a qualitative approach with case studies as a research strategy. Data were obtained from interviews and Focus Group Discussions (FGD) by presenting key informants and also supporting informants from the village government, community leaders and also traditional and religious leaders in Padangsidempuan City. The concept of village development, known as bottom-up development, places the village as a pillar of national economic development. This concept then forces the village to continue to prepare itself in order to achieve village autonomy and independence. Institutional strengthening can be seen from community institutions being given space in planning and implementing development in the village. This shows that Law no. 6 of 2014 has provided space for the community in determining the direction of village development.

Abstract

Bileh fish (Rasbora sp.) is a fish that lives in freshwater and can be found in the waters of Ie Sayang West Woyla West Aceh District. Excessive exploration has caused the population of bileh fish in nature to decrease and be limited. The first step that needs to be done in aquatic resource management is to identify the type of bileh fish to adopt its cultivation techniques. Fish identification can be done morphologically or molecularly. Morphological identification refers to morphometric studies. This study aims to identify bileh fish species from Ie Sayang waters based on morphometric characteristics. The bileh fish was obtained from community catches in September-November 2023. Morphological identification was done by visualizing and measuring morphometric characters. Data were analyzed descriptively, and the relationship between morphometric characters was analyzed by linear regression. The morphology of bileh fish has a fusiform body shape, terminal mouth type, forked caudal fin, and linea lateralis visible from the operculum to the caudal part. Total length (TL) ranged from 36.94-65.78 mm and standard length (SL) 29.01-52.49 mm. The length-weight correlation of allometric fish was negative. TL characters were closely correlated with SL, HL, DFD, ED, CPD, and VFL.

Abstract

Drawing insights from the evolution of political discourse in Indonesia since the reformation era, it becomes evident that democracy plays a pivotal role in underpinning the continuity of national leadership. The quality of democracy stands as a decisive factor in shaping public endorsement towards leaders. As the quality of democracy diminishes during a leader's tenure, the likelihood of rejection by the populace amplifies. However, an anomaly surfaces when assessing the leadership tenure of Jokowi. Despite a regression in democratic standards under his stewardship, Jokowi garnered a remarkably high approval rating. This article endeavors to elucidate this anomaly through the lens of psychoanalysis. Departing from prevailing research contentions that perceive media techniques as instrumental in augmenting approval ratings through hegemonic manipulation, this study delves into probing why the public places trust in the media as a hegemonic instrument. Employing qualitative methodologies and grounded within an interpretive framework utilizing secondary sources, this article asserts that the Indonesian public, afflicted by trauma and disillusionment towards democracy, gravitates towards objects of desire imbued with non-democratic values. It posits that fluctuations in approval ratings are not contingent upon the quality of democracy but are rather influenced by the efficacy of power in navigating desires and meeting the needs that ensure subject stability. Within this discourse, the democratic regression witnessed during Jokowi's tenure seemingly succeeded in assuaging the populace's anxieties regarding their sense of completeness, encompassing uncertainties, the dearth of political party representation, identity crises, and leadership presence. Consequently, this phenomenon not only engenders satisfaction among the populace but also fosters acceptance of Jokowi's presidential actions and policies, thereby bolstering his political stature.
