Abstract

Ikan seurukan (Osteochilus jeruk) adalah ikan endemik di perairan Aceh yang memiliki potensi untuk dikembangkan dalam budidaya perikanan. Namun, kendala yang dihadapi adalah pertumbuhan yang lambat dan tingginya mortalitas. Probiotik EM4 merupakan kombinasi bakteri L. casei dan khamir S. cerevisiae, telah digunakan dalam akuakultur untuk meningkatkan kinerja pertumbuhan dan memperbaiki kualitas lingkungan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh penambahan probiotik EM4 dalam media pemeliharaan terhadap pertumbuhan benih ikan seurukan. Penelitian ini dilakukan secara eksperimental dengan penambahan probiotik EM4 ke dalam media pemeliharaan. Uji coba dalam penelitian menggunakan dua perlakuan dan enam ulangan yaitu P0: kontrol (Tanpa probiotik) dan P1: Penambahan probiotik dengan dosis 1,5 ml/L. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penambahan probiotik EM4 memberikan pengaruh positif terhadap parameter pertumbuhan bobot mutlak, laju pertumbuhan harian dan efisiensi pemberian pakan.Kata kunci: Seurukan, Osteochilus jeruk, Probiotik EM4

Abstract

Bileh fish (Rasbora sp.) is a fish that lives in freshwater and can be found in the waters of Ie Sayang West Woyla West Aceh District. Excessive exploration has caused the population of bileh fish in nature to decrease and be limited. The first step that needs to be done in aquatic resource management is to identify the type of bileh fish to adopt its cultivation techniques. Fish identification can be done morphologically or molecularly. Morphological identification refers to morphometric studies. This study aims to identify bileh fish species from Ie Sayang waters based on morphometric characteristics. The bileh fish was obtained from community catches in September-November 2023. Morphological identification was done by visualizing and measuring morphometric characters. Data were analyzed descriptively, and the relationship between morphometric characters was analyzed by linear regression. The morphology of bileh fish has a fusiform body shape, terminal mouth type, forked caudal fin, and linea lateralis visible from the operculum to the caudal part. Total length (TL) ranged from 36.94-65.78 mm and standard length (SL) 29.01-52.49 mm. The length-weight correlation of allometric fish was negative. TL characters were closely correlated with SL, HL, DFD, ED, CPD, and VFL.

Abstract

Water hyacinth is an aquatic plant often used as a craft product because it is attractive for its various positive properties but requires further handling, especially regarding its color. White is one of the most popular types, and the manufacturing process involves bleaching stages using chemical compounds such as hydrogen peroxide (H2O2). The use of H2O2 in the bleaching process still has consequences for the quality of the material, which becomes easily damaged, and the bleaching process, which involves the presence of sunlight or ultraviolet lamps, occurs more quickly. This research examines the relationship between the duration of soaking water hyacinth in H2O2 solution in the presence of direct light or in dark conditions on its color and tensile test strength. Based on the research results, the Hue, Saturation, and Value (HSV) color data increase the brightness based on saturation and value data. Tensile test capability testing carried out using the Universal Testing Machine (UTM) instrument showed that immersing water hyacinth in H2O2 for 4-8 minutes did not cause a significant change in tensile test capability, so it was still possible for various purposes as a raw material in the creative industry. Keywords: bleaching, hydrogen peroxide, water hyacinth, tensile strength Eceng gondok merupakan salah satu tanaman air yang sering digunakan sebagai produk kerajinan karena memiliki daya tarik pada berbagai sifat positif yang dimiliki, namun diperlukan penanganan lebih lanjut terutama pada warnanya. Warna terang merupakan salah satu tipe yang banyak digemari dan proses pembuatannya menggunakan tahapan pemutihan menggunakan senyawa kimia seperti hidrogen peroksida (H2O2). Penggunaan H2O2 pada proses bleaching masih memiliki konsekuensi pada kualitas bahan yang menjadi mudah rusak, serta proses bleaching yang melibatkan kehadiran sinar matahari maupun lampu ultraviolet akan terjadi lebih cepat. Penelitian ini bertujuan melihat hubungan antara durasi perendaman eceng gondok dalam larutan H2O2 pada kondisi kehadiran sinar secara langsung maupun dalam kondisi gelap terhadap warna dan kekuatan uji tariknya. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ditemukan data warna Hue, Saturation, dan Value (HSV) menunjukkan kecenderungan (trend) yang baik terutama untuk data saturation dan value. Pengujian kemampuan uji tarik didapatkan bahwa perendaman eceng gondok dalam H2O2 antara 4-8 menit praktisnya tidak menyebabkan perubahan kemampuan uji tarik, sehingga masih memungkinkan untuk berbagai keperluan sebagai bahan baku di industri kreatif. Abstract

The combination of Avocado Seed Powder and Commercial Feed on the Growth Rate of Bileh Fish as an Alternative to Support Bileh Fish Farming. This study aims to determine the growth rate of bileh fish (Rasbora sp.) fed with a combination of avocado seed powder and commercial feed and to identify the optimal dose of the combination for bileh fish cultivation. The research was experimental, using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with three treatments and three repetitions. The treatments included different doses of the combination of avocado seed powder and commercial feed: P0 = 100% commercial feed (control), P1 = 90% commercial feed/10% avocado seed powder, P2 = 80% commercial feed/20% avocado seed powder, and P3 = 70% commercial feed / 30% avocado seed powder. The research stages consisted of preparing containers, collecting bileh fish, preparing experimental feed, conducting maintenance and observation, and collecting data. The data collected included absolute weight gain, absolute length gain, specific growth rate (SGR), and survival rate (SR) of Rasbora fish. The data were processed and analyzed using the F-test (ANOVA). The results show that the best dosage of the feed combination for Rasbora fish is treatment P3, with an absolute weight gain of 0,35%/day, a daily length growth rate of 0,4%/day, a specific growth rate (SGR) of 1,89%/day, and a survival rate (SR) of 99%.

Abstract

The purpose of this research-based community service program is to apply the research results of the proposing team's research for community empowerment. The application of research results is carried out in the aquaculture program on economic biota in the aquaponic system as an effort to improve the economy in Drin Mangko Village, Woyla District, which is a potential for aquaculture that must be developed. The application system is shrimp cultivation with aquaponic technology. Aquaponic technology is a cultivation technique through environmental engineering that relies on oxygen supply and the use of microorganisms that can directly increase the digestibility value of feed. This community service activity aims to increase farmer income with high shrimp productivity and increase shrimp production. The activity was carried out for 6 months at Drin Mangko Village, Woyla District, West Aceh. The results obtained were a relative growth rate of giant prawns of 3.98%. The outputs produced were in the form of international journals, services, and methods as well as mass media.

Abstract

Rasbora maninjau is a native fish of Aceh that is commonly found in the rivers of Nagan Raya Regency, West Aceh, Aceh. Although this fish has been domesticated to save it, cultural efforts are severely hampered by its slow growth. Lysine and probiotics are introduced to local feed to maintain the proper balance of amino acids in the feed and improve the quality of the protein feed produced. This makes it possible for the feed to act in a different way to promote the growth of the fish. The purpose of this study is to examine how Rasbora maninjau growth, feed efficiency, and survival are affected by the addition of lysine and probiotics to local feed. A randomized design with three replications and five treatments was used in this study. The formulation uses local feed as a reference (P0), local feed with lysine added at a rate of 1.2% and probiotics at a concentration of 15 ml/kg (P1), 1.4% and probiotics at a concentration of 15 ml/kg (P2), 1.6% and probiotics at a concentration of 15 ml/kg (P3), and 1.8% and probiotics at a concentration of 15 ml/kg (P4). Three times a day, 3% of body weight is fed. The study was raised for 40 days. The findings indicated that adding lysine and probiotics to a locally manufactured meal had a substantial (P < 0.05) effect on Rasbora maninjau's growth performance but had no significant effect on survival (P > 0.05). The best dosages for Rasbora maninjau growth performance in the locally manufactured feed are 1.6% lysine supplementation and 15 ml/kg probiotics (P3).

Abstract

The most abundant natural resource on earth is sea water, because most of the earth's surface is covered by oceans. This resource can be utilized by farmers to reduce pressure on increasingly limited freshwater resources. As well as the increasing need for efficient and sustainable fertilizer. Sea water is rich in nutrients such as nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P), and potassium (K), which act as essential nutrients for plant growth. Utilization of sea water can be an effective alternative to conventional fertilizer. Students can introduce seawater as fertilizer for the community from an early age. This is a good step to take because students are still open to accepting new things as innovations in the agricultural sector. Based on this, this service aims to provide information to students about the benefits of sea water as a source of complete nutrition for plants. This community service activity was carried out on August 12 2023 at SMK Negeri 1, Meureubo District, West Aceh Regency. This activity was filled with socialization and education activities on making plant nutritional supplements using seawater solutions. Apart from that, there was also a demonstration of making plant nutritional supplements using seawater solutions. Based on the activities that have been carried out, these students show very high activity and enthusiasm. This can be seen from students' positive responses to reporting new understanding obtained after the learning process was completed. Carrying out this service will also help open up new insights for students to be more creative and critical in thinking about utilizing and protecting their environment.
