Abstract

Efforts to reduce stunting require nutrition interventions that are carried out in an integrated and integrated manner, including specific and sensitive nutrition interventions. Specific interventions include providing balanced nutritional staple food to stunting toddlers. The sample in this study were 30 stunted toddlers in the Simpang Periuk Health Center working area with the type of intervention, namely providing balanced nutritional staple food for 90 days. The method used in this study uses an experimental design with a pre and post-test approach without control. The statistical test used was the paired sample test by comparing the nutritional status of toddlers before and after intervention. This research was completed in December 2022. The results showed a p-value of 0.000 (<.05), indicating that there was a significant difference in toddler height before and after the intervention was given, so it can also be concluded that the provision of balanced nutritious staple food interventions for 90 days can increase the height of toddlers thereby reducing the stunting rate in the target toddlers.

Abstract

Given its many benefits over other animal products as a source of protein, salmon is a very suitable source of animal protein to help initiatives that aim to enhance community nutrition and combat stunting. To keep Indonesia from losing its golden generation in the future, stunting must be treated appropriately. The aim of this study was to evaluate the impact of supplemental fish-based diet on the nutritional status of stunting toddlers. The sample in this study consisted of 26 stunted toddlers receiving fish-based supplementary feeding (PMT) for 90 days from September to December 2023 at the Simpang Periuk Health Center work area. An experimental design with a pre- and post-test strategy without control was used in this study's methodology. By contrasting the nutritional status of toddlers before and after the intervention, a paired sample test was utilized as the statistical analysis. December 2022 saw the completion of this study. The findings indicated that there were significant differences in the nutritional status of toddlers before and after receiving the intervention, with a p-value of 0.000 (.05) indicating that this was the case. It can therefore be deduced that providing fish-based PMT interventions for 90 days can improve toddlers' nutritional status, lowering the rate of stunting in the target toddlers.

Abstract

This paper aims to examine the development trend of the prevalence of stunting in the provinces of South Sumatra and Bengkulu between 2021-2022, by exploring the PB/U and TB/U indicators to see trends in the prevalence of stunting in regencies and cities in the two provinces. The study method uses a secondary data analysis approach to the results of the Indonesian Nutrition Status Survey which will be conducted from 2021 to 2022, using descriptive statistical analysis. The sample studied was the results of a nutritional status survey in the Provinces of South Sumatra and Bengkulu in 27 urban districts. The results of the study in general show that there has been a decline in the stunting prevalence rate from 2021-2022 in the South Sumatra Province by 6.2% and the Bengkulu Province by 2.3%. However, if we look at the figures per district/city, there is one district in South Sumatra Province which has experienced an increase in the prevalence of stunting, namely Banyu Asin by 2.8% and there are five districts in Bengkulu Province which have also experienced an increase in the prevalence of stunting, namely Kepahiang by 2%, South Bengkulu 2.4%, North Bengkulu 2.1%, Mukomuko 0.1%, Kaur 1.1%. Based on the results above, it can be concluded that the prevalence of stunting in the provinces of South Sumatra and Bengkulu in general has decreased, but there are 6 districts in the two provinces that are still experiencing an increase in the prevalence of stunting. It is suggested to the competent authorities in the 6 regencies to improve specific nutrition interventions and sensitive nutrition interventions by means of convergence between regional apparatus organizations (OPD) through the Team for the Acceleration of Stunting Reduction (TPPS) in each city-district.

Abstract

For toddlers who are stunted, processed fish food can be utilized as an additional source of healthy nutrients. This study set out to assess how supplementing fish-based meals affected the nutritional status of toddlers who were stunted. 37 stunted toddlers in Lubuklinggau City received Additional Fish-Based Food for ninety days, from September to December 2023, as part of the study's sample. This research approach used an experimental design with a pre- and post-test strategy without control. Pairwise comparison tests were employed to do statistical analysis by evaluating the nutritional status of toddlers prior to and following the intervention. The research will be finished by December 2023. 6 (16.21%) of the toddlers had improved to a normal nutritional state, according to the data. The nutritional status of toddlers differed significantly before and after the intervention, as evidenced by a p-value of 0.000 (0.05). Thus, it can be said that giving toddlers extra fish-based meal treatments for ninety days can enhance their nutritional status and lower the incidence of stunting in the toddlers who are the target population.
