Abstract

This research examines how tax assistants, tax management, and the final PPh tax incentives (PP 23/2018) might increase Bandung Regency SMEs' tax knowledge and compliance. The quantitative descriptive research technique used simple random selection for MSMEs with active NPWP status at the DJP KPP office in Bandung Regency. This research uses PLS SEM and SEMPLS3 software to analyze 132 MSMEs in agricultural, culinary, and fashion. Tax management mediated by a tax assistant has a 17.7% favorable impact on tax compliance. Tax Assistant improves tax compliance by 0.626, or 62.6%. Tax Management (TMP) improves the Tax Assistant (TEA) by 55.0%. This research concludes that the low level of SME tax compliance in Bandung Regency is more due to a lack of knowledge in techniques for calculating, paying, and reporting MSMEs final income tax (PPh), where a tax assistant becomes very important in aiding management in MSMEs tax compliance, and that the findings are consistent with the Expected Utility Tax Compliance Theory

Abstract

This study examines the influence of digital transformation and digital leadership on employee performance through organizational adaptation in private universities. By situating informatization, HRM systems, and leadership styles within adaptive processes, the research provides empirical evidence of how digital integration fosters workforce performance. A quantitative approach was employed with 352 respondents, including HR staff, lecturers, and administrators from a private university in Bandung using a digital HRM system. Data were gathered via structured questionnaires and analyzed using SEM-PLS with SmartPLS 4.0. Results show that digital transformation and leadership exert both direct and indirect effects on performance through organizational adaptation. The academic contribution lies in extending HRM and leadership literature by framing digital leadership as a mechanism that converts digital transformation into sustainable performance via adaptation. Practically, the findings underscore the need to strengthen adaptive capacity, enhance digital competencies, and cultivate digital leadership in higher education institutions.

Abstract

Objective: The importance of incorporating ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) principles in influencing employee retention and engagement, especially among Gen Z, is increasingly recognized. However, a gap exists between corporate ESG efforts and employees’ perceptions in private HEIs in Indonesia. This study investigates the influence of ESG integration into HRM practices on employee retention and engagement, with organizational commitment as a mediating variable and Generation Z’s demographic traits as a moderator. Research Design & Methods: A quantitative design using PLS-SEM was applied to 270 respondents from 138 private universities in Bandung City. The sample was determined through Slovin’s formula (5% margin of error) and stratified random sampling by job strata. Findings: ESG integration positively affects organizational commitment and employee engagement but does not directly influence retention. Organizational commitment mediates the relationship between ESG practices, retention, and engagement. The moderating effect of Gen Z traits significantly weakens these positive relationships, indicating the need for tailored organizational commitment strategies that match Gen Z values and expectations. Implications & Recommendations: Private HEIs should strengthen organizational commitment by implementing ESG-based HRM policies aligned with Gen Z preferences to enhance retention and engagement. Contribution & Value Added: This study extends ESG-centric HRM literature by highlighting the need to design ESG initiatives that address young employees’ concerns to support organizational performance and long-term sustainability.

Abstract

Tourism is an important aspect of economic activity, especially in Indonesia which has superior natural resource potential. However, there is a gap between tourism potential and the quality of human resources in driving the tourism economy, resulting in low tourism competitiveness compared to other countries. This research aims to find the best formula for building a model for improving organizational performance and competitiveness in the hotel industry through a strategic human resource management approach. How much organizational performance is achieved depends on the performance of its people, regardless of the shape, size, goals and characteristics of the organization. In the context of research, some research results also still contain disagreements regarding the understanding of Human Capital Management, which is generally widely understood as performance measurement, as well as the Adaptive E-Procurement system. This research uses quantitative methods with partial least squares (PLS) analysis tools. In this case, the researchers took samples based on the total population of 19 five-star hotels and 94 4-star hotels, according to the Slovin formula, namely 88 samples. The results showed that HCACS-X2 had a significant positive effect on OPC-Y. The HCACS-X2 variable against OPC-Y has an original sample of 0.382 in a positive direction, meaning that the better the HCACS-X2, the OPC-Y will also increase by 0.382. HCACS-X2 has a significant positive effect on OPC-Y through AE-PS-X3. The HCACS-X2 variable against OPC-Y via EPSA has an original sample of 0.352 in a positive direction, meaning that the better the HCACS-X2 via AE-PS-X3, the OPC-Y will also increase by 0.352.
