Abstract

Unemployment remains a major issue in Indonesia's development, especially among vocational education graduates. This study examines the effect of the Pre-Employment Card Program in reducing the unemployment rate. This study uses data from the 2023 National Labor Force Survey (Sakernas) with logistic regression model analysis. The number of samples used was 1,481, consisting of 201 unemployed groups and 1,280 employed groups. Results show that apprenticeship experience and vocational education background significantly reduce the risk of unemployment, while the Pre-Employment card program and certified training show no significant impact. Higher education and income are negatively correlated with unemployment, while women are more at risk of unemployment. The findings emphasize the importance of practical experience and vocational education strategies that match labor market needs. This study provides insights for labor policies in developing countries.

Abstract

Investment in various financial instrumens such as stocks, gold, and cryptocurrency continues to grow in line with changes in global market conditions. One crucial aspect of investment is understanding return volatility, as high volatility can indicate greater risk for investors. The ARCH/GARCH model has become a widely used method in volatility analysis to capture fluctuations in financial asset prices. This study aims to examine whether the ARCH/GARCH model can explain and predict the return volatility of the Jakarta Islamic Index (JII), gold, and Bitcoin. This research employs a mixed-method approach, where the quantitative method applies the ARCH/GARCH model to analyze the volatility of these three investment instrumens, while the qualitative method involves documentation studies to analyze the opportunities and challenges of cryptocurrency as a halal asset. The findings indicate that the ARCH/GARCH model can explain the return volatility patterns of JII and gold. However, Bitcoin was not included in the ARCH/GARCH modeling. JII exhibits the highest volatility compared to the other two instrumens, whereas gold demonstrates characteristics of a safe-haven asset with lower volatility.

Abstract

The halal status of goods consumed is important for people who embrace Islam. This is a necessity that has been explained in the Qur'an. In this study, consumption was related to the use of halal drugs or halal pharmaceuticals. In Indonesia, the use of halal pharmaceuticals is still minimal due to difficulties in procuring raw materials for halal pharmacy itself plus not all types of pharmaceutical products that have used halal raw materials have been labeled halal. This makes it more difficult for Muslims who want to take halal medicines,  even though Indonesia has the largest Muslim population in the world. This study aims to determine the effect of the level of knowledge, attitudes, and perceptions of Padjadjaran University health students towards awareness of halal pharmaceutical labeling. This study uses a descriptive quantitative approach and the method of data collection using the Random Sampling technique by distributing questionnaires to respondents. The results of data analysis show that the awareness of halal pharmaceuticals labeling is significantly and positively influenced by the variables of knowledge and perception while for the attitude variable has a positive but not significant effect.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic severely impacted the tourism sector, causing a drastic decline in visitors and significant economic losses. However, halal tourism in Indonesia showed signs of resilience and recovery. A research gap exists in understanding the specific factors that influence tourists' decisions to revisit halal destinations, especially after a global health crisis. This study addresses this gap by investigating the combined effects of halal reputation, adherence to COVID-19 protocols, and emotional value on tourist behavior. This study aimed to determine the influence of halal reputation, COVID-19 protocols, and emotional value on the decision to visit the Floating Market in Bandung. Data was collected from residents of West Java who had previously visited the destination. The research employed a sophisticated structural modeling approach for data analysis. The findings reveal that all three factors have a strong and positive influence on tourists' intention to visit. A solid halal reputation builds trust and confidence among Muslim tourists. Strict adherence to COVID-19 protocols provides a crucial sense of safety and security. Furthermore, positive emotional experiences and friendly service significantly encourage tourists to return. These results suggest that focusing on these key factors is essential for the sustainable development of halal tourism.
