Abstract

Abstract

Generation Z is growing up amid rapid globalization and digital transformation, conditions that shape their psychological well-being and emotion regulation abilities. Nevertheless, Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) remain a significant risk factor. This study aims to examine the moderating role of resilience in the relationship between ACEs and emotion regulation among Generation Z in Jakarta. A total of 227 participants were recruited through purposive sampling, using the ACE-IQ, DERS-SF, and CD-RISC as instruments. Data were analyzed with Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA). The results demonstrate that resilience significantly weakens the negative impact of ACEs on emotion regulation. These findings underscore the importance of resilience-based interventions and open further discussion on practical strategies to enhance adaptive capacity and emotional well-being in young adults who have experienced childhood adversity. Keywords: Adverse childhood experiences, emotion regulation, resilience, Generation Z.

Abstract

Abstract. The role of gen-z novice college student voters in Indonesia's 2024 democratic year is crucial, as they can determine the direction of national politics. As a generation growing up with massive exposure to information through digital media, especially conspiracy theories that tend to be of interest, this is a unique characteristic. This study aims to determine whether exposure to conspiracy theories through digital media can affect the political trust and political efficacy of gen-z novice voters as the main predisposition in determining their political participation, which has an impact on the dynamics of politics. This study uses a quasi-experimental method with a comparison of two treatments and a posttest only control design. The research participants (N=108) were divided into 3 groups, namely experimental group 1 (intervention: video) (n=38), experimental group 2 (intervention: article) (n=36), and control group (n=34). The results of hypothesis testing using one-way ANOVA showed that there was a significant difference in the political trust variable (F = 7.613, p < 0.01) with an effect size (η² = 0.127), while political efficacy showed no significant difference (F = 0.118, p = 0.889). This shows that exposure to conspiracy theories, both through videos and articles in digital media, can only reduce political trust, but not political efficacy, which may have an impact on the tendency of students to carry out action movements in national politics, which needs to be addressed wisely. Two Treatments and a Control post-test only design.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze adolescents’ educational goal clarity based on the integration of psychometric and digital activity data using a machine learning approach. The main problem addressed in this study is the limited utilization of digital and psychological data to understand adolescents’ educational goal characteristics. The methodology includes data preprocessing, clustering analysis using the K-Means algorithm to identify hidden patterns, and classification using Logistic Regression and Decision Tree to build predictive models. The results show that respondents are grouped into three main clusters: low, medium, and high, reflecting different levels of digital engagement and educational goal clarity. Using an 80:20 data split, the results show that on the test set (20%), Logistic Regression achieved the best performance with an accuracy of 0.95 and ROC-AUC of 0.996, while Decision Tree provided more interpretable patterns with an accuracy of 0.80. The most influential variables include frequency of information searching, duration of accessing educational content, and clustering results. The study concludes that productive digital behavior significantly contributes to adolescents’ educational goal clarity, and the hybrid machine learning approach is effective in combining pattern analysis and prediction.
