Abstract

The issue of the relationship between religion and politics is an old issue in modern human history, both of which always spark polemics regarding the position of religion in the political arena which, at least, involves two groups that are diametrically opposed. One party is campaigning for religion to be included in every political consideration. This idea is known as theocracy, a religion-based government. As a consequence, religion becomes the highest umbrella in every political policy. On the other hand, there are parties who actually reject religious interference in political affairs. Religion must be excluded from public discourse and understood as a private matter that only concerns individual interests. Religion is nothing more than a ritual affair that describes man's dependence on his god.

Abstract

Teacher competence plays a significant role in improving the quality of learning in primary education institutions, including Madrasah Ibtidaiyah. However, many teachers still face challenges in designing effective learning, implementing innovative teaching strategies, and conducting meaningful learning evaluations. This community service program aims to assist teachers in developing pedagogical competencies to improve the quality of learning in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah. The program employed a mentoring-based approach consisting of training, classroom mentoring, and reflective evaluation. The participants were teachers at a Madrasah Ibtidaiyah who were actively involved in the learning process. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation of mentoring activities. The results indicate that the mentoring program improved teachers’ ability to design lesson plans, implement active learning strategies, and conduct learning assessments. In addition, the mentoring process increased teachers’ professional confidence and fostered collaborative learning. This program demonstrates that mentoring-based professional development can become an effective strategy for strengthening teacher competence and improving learning quality in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah.

Abstract

The aim of this study is to examine how halal labeling, digital marketing, and brand image influence purchasing decisions in the context of packaged food products produced by MSMEs in Malang. A quantitative approach was employed using a survey method, involving 250 respondents who were consumers at retail outlets in Malang and were selected through incidental sampling at the research sites. The analysis was conducted using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with the support of the AMOS application to assess the relationships among the variables. The findings indicate that both halal labeling and digital marketing have a positive and significant effect on purchasing decisions. In addition, brand image plays a mediating role in the relationship between halal labeling and digital marketing on purchasing decisions. These results suggest that consumers’ perceptions of halal labeling contribute to strengthening brand image, which in turn enhances their likelihood of making a purchase.  Academically, this study expands the application of consumer behavior theory in the context of halal product marketing, while practically providing guidance for MSMEs to integrate halal labeling and digital marketing strategies in an effort to build a strong brand image. The results of the study fill the existing gap by presenting brand image variables as a mediator.
