Abstract

This research is based on the idea of the need for the development of self-reliant enterprises in educational institutions (Islamic boarding schools) to create institutional and graduate independence. Based on this, the Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia (MORA) created a program in 2021 related to the development of vocational life skills and self-reliance for Islamic boarding schools. This study includes field research where data is obtained through participatory observation, field documentation, and in-depth interviews using a qualitative approach and qualitative descriptive analysis method. This research presents several new findings: First, the concept of vocational life skills is realized through a Business Incubation program based on household products. Second, the Legal Entity of Islamic Boarding School Enterprises (BUMPES) accommodates various units for the development of small businesses that optimally assist in production management and marketing of creative products from Islamic boarding schools to the general public. Third, training or workshops are provided to students (santri) as workers or human resources involved in this small business process, involving the required experts. Fourth, there are still shortcomings in empowering student workers in this business development because human resource management is needed in production management. This program has provided a beneficial contribution to the progress of Islamic boarding school education, particularly in enhancing the quality of vocational life skills education and understanding of the business world or micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).

Abstract

The author will examine education policy including the scope of education policy analysis, various and models of education policy analysis and the limitations of education policy analysis. literature study method by conducting in-depth analysis of various articles that have been published in the last 10 years (2013-2023). Education is influenced by the results of a policy determined by the government, therefore choosing the right policy formulation model can produce good policies. There are several education policy models which are divided into three parts, namely (1) formulation model, (2) analysis model and (3) implementation model. The formulation model consists of institutional model, system model, mixed inquiry model, process model, elite theory model, rational model, incrementalist model, strategic model, deliberative model. Meanwhile, educational policy analysis models consist of prospective, retrospective and integrative models. The implementation model consists of top down and bottom up models. The current educational policy analysis model combines prospective, retrospective and integrative analysis.

Abstract

Abstrak Berdasarkan penelitian peneliti sebelumnya, ada beberapa model pemberdayaan perempuan yang dilakukan oleh para bu Nyai (panggilan bagi isteri kyai di lingkungan pondok pesantren), khususnya di Pondok Pesantren Nurul Jadid, Paiton, Probolinggo. Seperti, mereka terlibat melatih para wali santri puteri di lingkungan pondok pesantren, mendesain (non-participant) budaya berbasis gender dalam pembelajaran di pondok pesantren, serta terlibat aktif (full-participant) untuk menyadarkan model kehidupan berbasis gender di bagi santri puteri. Hari ini, beberapa model peran pemberdayaan itu bertambah; tidak sekedar tiga model terbatas teritorial di atas. Lebih dari itu, para bu nyai di lingkungan Pondok Pesantren Nurul Jadid, Paiton juga terlibat pada aktivitas social, ekonomi, dan politik masyarakat luas. Untuk mencapai tujuan pemberdayaan tersebut, tentunya, membutuhkan banyak pendekatan yang baru; mulai dari penyadaran terhadap masyarakat tentang pentingnya gender, perlakukan setara terhadap perempuan, dan bagaimana cara mengoptimalisasi kekuatan serta kebersamaan yang dimiliki perempuan. Keberadaan tulisan ini adalah untuk menjabarkan bagaimana model-model pemberdayaan baru yang dilakukan para Bu Nyai di lingkungan Pondok Pesantren. Nurul Jadid, Paiton, Probolinggo. Apa persepsi yang mereka yakini tentang gender, serta bagaimana model penyampaian yang efektif untuk membentuk kesadaran gender di luar pondok pesantren berdasarkan pada nilai-nilai gender yang mereka pahami. Selain itu, penulis juga akan melakukan analisis problem terhadap perbedaan pandangan Bu Nyai yang terjadi di lingkungan Pondok Pesantren Nurul Jadid, Paiton, terkait gender dan Islam. Kata kunci: Islam, Gender, Nyai, dan Pembedayaan Perempuan Abstract Of my research before, there are some models of empowerments women which are articulated by Nyai (Kyai’s wife term in Pesantren), especially at Pondok Pesantren Nurul Jadid, Paiton, Probolinggo, such are; training for student mother/parent around pesantren and designing a gendered culture and teaching-learning process inside pesantren, and giving social life experiences for women student. Nowadays, the types of empowerments were enriched, not only on three models above, but also social reconstruction, conflict resolution, economic and political contestation based on gender coalition. To do these processes, there was no easy ways except they must face unequal treatment of women in social life. So that, they had to change the normal paradigm and build the new approach to empower women outside Pesantren. This article aims to describe what paradigm they made, to reconstruct gendered stance of Islamic teaching and what model of social development approach they used, in order to make common understanding on political and social process outside Pesantren. I will discomposes Nyai of Pondok Pesantren Nurul Jadid, Paiton to three levels understanding of feminist tradition based on their conclude concept of gender. In other word, not all nyai of Pondok Pesantren Nurul Jadid, Paiton, extend their empowerment approach outside pesantren. Keywords; Islam, Gender, Nyai, and Women Empowerment

Abstract

The finding of a lot of bullying behavior in Islamic boarding schools has become a negative trend. Islamic educational institutions must make complete improvements. The position of Islamic boarding school students as a stronghold of Islamic education should be able to maintain good values and character by providing good examples, one of which is by not committing acts. Bullying. Character formation is not only limited to implementing good character, it will create a consistent culture (istiqomah). The research method uses qualitative with a case study approach, the primary data sources for this research are Islamic boarding school caregivers, heads, educators (council of teachers), Islamic boarding school guidance and counseling teachers, and Islamic boarding school students, with observation, interview and documentation data collection. Yin presented data analysis through pattern matching, explanation, time series analysis, and repeated observations. The research results show the first character education model, through role models/examples from teachers or Islamic boarding school administrators, the creation of a violence prevention action task force (TPPK), and individual assistance to the students. Meanwhile, some of the character education implemented for students includes religious character, mutual respect amidst the diverse backgrounds of students, the character of responsibility, fairness, sensitivity to all Islamic boarding school conditions, and strengthening Nasionalisme accompanied by the existence of continuous and consistent strengthening. The findings regarding Infinity character are an option in preventing bullying behavior among students in Islamic boarding schools

Abstract

This research aims to understand the role of leadership in enhancing managerial accountability at IAI Nasional Laa Roiba Bogor, West Java. Accountability is crucial in ensuring the quality of higher education and involves various aspects such as management, leadership, transparency, efficiency, effectiveness, and participation. Private Islamic higher education institutions face complex challenges, including in infrastructure, financing, academic processes, and the quality of graduates. To achieve this aim, a qualitative approach was employed by involving leaders, faculty, and staff as primary informants. Data collection techniques were carried out through triangulation (combining various sources), and the analysis was inductive. The research results emphasize meaning rather than generalization. The findings indicate that managerial accountability at IAI Nasional Laa Roiba Bogor, West Java is evident in transparency in university management. This is observed through open financial reports, websites, open meetings, and achievement publications. Efficiency and effectiveness in managing educational costs are measured through budget planning, operational cost control, and academic program evaluation.

Abstract

This article explores the new trends of Islamic radicalism through missionary jihad against a blasphemer (Ahok) as part of the jihad for the NKRI (Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia). The trend of radical dakwah in online media is interesting to research, regardless of the interest of the local election, or Caliphate and NKRI sharia on the other hand. The purpose of this research is to find out the trend of radical dakwah in online media by calling jihad against a blasphemer as part of the NKRI jihad and its implication. The questions in this study will be examined using the theory of domination of interests (hegemony), given the position of the radicals is to seize the hegemony of society through online viral media. In conclusion, the use of the term Jihad against a blasphemer, and political branding that radical groups still maintain the integrity of the NKRI is a hegemonic form to defeat the cultural power of the moderate, tolerant, and plural Muslims. These radicals, together with the intellectual actors behind them, realize that in order to gain legitimacy of religious power, they must collaborate with the MUI (fatwa institution), then use social media to invite all to participate to do counter discourse. After that, they collaborated with politicians to advocate the idea they propose. Finally, they use symbolic Islamic slogans to bring Muslims to the struggle that they do.

Abstract

This article discusses intersection between dakwah and politics in contemporary Indonesia. It demonstrates the use of dakwah as political vehicle in electoral politics by looking at dakwah actors and their methods. Examining valuable sources, mainly online data, the article further concludes that the 2019 presidential election had led to the division within the dakwah actors. They are divided along the lines of presidential candidates and this division resonates clearly though their dakwah activism. From ideological perspectives, this article further finds out that dakwah actors and institutions with Islamist ideology inclines to vote for Prabowo Subijanto, whereas his rival as well as incumbent president Joko Widodo gains a significant support from the traditionalist Nahdlatul Ulama and the so-called “moderate Islam” had been central issue dividing the two.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the role of Mutual Public Relations (MPR) in supporting public policy to increase equal access to education. Using a qualitative approach through case studies at SMPI Al-Ilzamy, this research reveals the application of MPR as a communication strategy to disseminate information, involve parents, and support educational policies such as scholarship programs and academic assistance. The research results show that the MPR functions not only as an information channel but also as a liaison between schools and the community through two-way communication, which allows parents and students to provide input and understand policies better. This research emphasizes the importance of the MPR as an effective strategy for creating active community involvement and supporting equitable access to inclusive and fair education

Abstract

The following article discusses The Efforts To Improve The Quality Of Schools With A Culture-Based Learning Approach, Education means the care for the development of the students that they grow in line with their culture. In other words, any education should pay attention to the culture of the students. Today’s curriculum tends to ignore this that the students are alienated from their own culture and are feeling that they are not part of the process of the education. The time the students are appreciated is the time when the education is done properly.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji tentang pengembangan keilmuan program studi Komunikasi dan Penyiaran Islam di perguruan Tinggi Keagamaan Islam Swasta dengan studi kasus di 3 (tiga) perguruan tinggi, yaitu Universitas Islam Internasional Darullughah Wadda’wah, Universitas Islam Bunga Bangsa Cirebon, dan Universitas PTIQ Jakarta. Dipilihnya program studi tersebut karena keberadaannya sebagai program studi “tua” dan unggulan di Fakultas Dakwah namun memiliki peminat yang sedikit. Terlebih keberadaan ketiga universitas tersebut masih sangat belia sehingga perlu menata struktur keilmuan yang multi disipli sebagai bagian dari universitas. Oleh sebab itu, pertanyaan yang mucul adalah eksistensi keilmuan program studi KPI ketika menjadi Universitas Islam Swasta, peluang dan tantangan pengembangan keilmuan program studi KPI pada Universitas Islam Swasta, dan langkah strategis pengembangan keilmuan program studi KPI pada Universitas Islam Swasta. Sebagai penelitian lapangan yang kualitatif-deskriptif, maka kesimpulan yang dicapai adalah: pertama, keilmuan prodi KPI di tiga universitas tersebut telah dilakukan secara integratif antara ilmu dakwah klasik dan modern dengan pelibatan media yang terus berkembang. Kedua, kurikulum yang dibuat secara flesibel dengan tetap menyapa dinamika industri media dan kebutuhan dakwah yang terus berubah. Kurikulum telag dirancang untuk beradaptasi dengan perkembangan teknologi terkini. Ketiga, penggunaan teknologi diakui sebagai alat efektif dalam proses pembelajaran, dakwah, dan penyiaran Islam, kentati perguruan tinggi tersebut memiliki basis di pondok pesantren.
