Abstract

This research examines the fashion perspectives of K-Pop fans on lifestyle in the USK student environment. Globalization and K-Pop consolidate each other to give birth to new symbols in the fashion world as a form of self-existence, but experience inconsistencies in the application of Islamic law in Aceh. The research method uses a descriptive qualitative approach through the implementation of modeling theory (attention, retention, reproduction, and motivation) with data collection techniques by interview, observation, and documentation of six K-Pop fan informants. The results showed that the perception of fashion materialized through the activity of consuming K-Pop content (Attention) has the effect of following K-Fashion as an inspiration for fashion dressing (Retention) with innovation and creativity considered to give the impression of simple, cute uniqueness, funny, and not experiencing changes in the fashion cycle so that it is comfortable to use in everyday life even in tropical climates (Reproduction) in the end forming self-existence as a K-Pop fan (Motivation). However, in the application of Islamic fashion, not all K-Fashion is an inspiration to follow. So, it must be acceptability in accordance with the provisions of Islamic teachings in creating K-Fashion using hijab and covering the aurat.

Abstract

The term Korean wave refers to the global spread of K-Pop, which has been widely accepted and adopted by societies around the world. The dissemination of BTS K-Pop through social media platforms such as Twitter, Instagram, music portals, and other constantly updated media channels provides extensive information for BTS fans, known as the Army. Data for this study was collected via questionnaires distributed to 133 respondents, all members of the K-Pop Army community in Banda Aceh City. The findings indicate that the consumption of BTS K-Pop influences self-concept, driven by the significant interest in BTS among fans. The appeal to Army community members is evident in the time spent watching BTS, the frequency of their engagement, and their willingness to forego other activities to watch BTS. Data analysis reveals that BTS K-Pop consumption positively affects both the physical and psychological aspects of self-concept among Army community members in Banda Aceh City, with a significance level of 5% at 1.9799.

Abstract

In an endeavor to assist the Banda Aceh City Government in effective waste management, a group of lecturers and students from Syiah Kuala University (USK) has introduced an innovative waste management solution in the form of a digital-based waste collection and disposal application named e-tikbroh.yak. This application is designed to pick up pre-sorted waste from users, including individuals and communities, and then distribute the segregated waste to collectors and partners who have ordered or purchased it for various productive purposes. The distribution of this application to the community is considered essential as it streamlines the waste management process by promoting waste sorting and implementing the 3 R (Reduce-Reuse-Recycle) waste management concept, thereby fostering a conscious approach to waste management. Furthermore, e-tikbroh.yak creates new employment opportunities within the community, both as application couriers and by generating additional income through the collection of sorted waste. To expand its reach and accessibility, the e-tikbroh.yak application will soon be made available on the Play Store and web browsers for non-Android smartphone users in Banda Aceh City. Following its public introduction, a Users Acceptance Test (UAT) was conducted to ensure the effective and optimal functioning of the application system. This paper aims to elucidate two key aspects: 1) introducing e-tikbroh.yak to the community and partners, and 2) assessing the application's performance through the User Acceptance Test (UAT) procedure. The outcome of the UAT demonstrated that the people of Banda Aceh City found the application's operation to be smooth and user-friendly.
