Abstract

This article probes whether the implementation of the caning sentence in Aceh may reach its objective of deterrent effect given the way the execution conducted. From the field observation, the flogging was not much different from entertainment. The mass gathered in one place to watch the execution; they include children, street vendors, researchers, and journalists. There was a stage, VIP seats for guests, loudspeakers, administrative arrangements, and the caning punishment procession. Using a qualitative research approach with an in-depth interview method, it seeks to understand how the community involved in the caning execution was and how the government was designed the sentence as such and why.  It finds that while the government saw the caning law as the implementation of Islamic sharia in Aceh, the people perceived its execution more as entertainment. The government has used the caning sentence execution as a demonstration of power, often for a political gain, because it emphasizes its presence not only as of the guardian of shari’a for Acehnese but also as a devout politician who keeps his political promises. Yet, little of this punishment deterrent effect conveyed to the society due to the way it was staged and executed.Keywords: Qanun Jinayat, Aceh, Caning Punishment, Stage, Entertainment, Deterrent Effect.

Abstract

Abstrak : Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kelayakan buklet sebagai media pembelajaran dari hasil inventarisasi jenis-jenis tumbuhan yang dimanfaatkan oleh masyarakat Desa Arus Deras Kecamatan Teluk Pakedai Kabupaten Kubu Raya. Bentuk penelitian ini adalah kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif serta teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan purposive sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan secara triangulasi yaitu wawancara dengan informan sebanyak 37 orang, observasi dan dokumentasi. Dari hasil penelitian didapatkan 102 spesies tumbuhan yang bermanfaat dalam kehidupan sehari-hari yang terdiri dari 72 spesies sebagai tumbuhan obat, 5 spesies tumbuhan sebagai bahan pewarna, 3 spesies tumbuhan sebagai bahan kosmetik alami, 5 spesies tumbuhan sebagai bahan budaya, 1 spesies tumbuhan sebagai bahan kerajinan dan 16 spesies tumbuhan sebagai tumbuhan multifungsi. Hasil penelitian etnobotani tersebut kemudian diimplementasikan dalam bentuk media buklet. Berdasarkan penilaian dari validator, media buklet termasuk kedalam kategori valid menurut Lawshe dengan nilai Content Validity Indeks (CVI) 0,95 dan layak digunakan sebagai media pembelajaran pada submateri manfaat keanekaragaman hayati. Kata kunci : Buklet, etnobotani, keanekaragaman hayati Abstract : This research aimed to know the feasibility of booklet as the learning media from the invent these kinds of plants that were utilized by society of Desa Arus Deras Kecamatan Teluk Pakedai Kabupaten Kubu Raya. The form of this research was qualitative with descriptive as the method and purposive sampling as the technique of sampling. The data were collected by using interview with 37 informants, observation and documentation.The result showed that there were 102 species of plants that could be utilized in daily life including 72 species used as herbs, 5 species used as dyes, 3 species used as natural cosmetics, 5 species used as culture materials, 1 species used as craft materials and 16 species used as multifunctional. The result of the research was implemented into a learning media, which was a booklet. Based on the validation assessment, the booklet was categorized as valid with the score Content Validity Indeks (CVI) of Lawshe  was 0,95 and acceptable to be used as a learning medium for the benefit of biodiversity submaterial.Keywords : Booklet, ethnobotany, biodiversity.

Abstract

Ngeri-Ngeri Sedap is a film set in the Batak tribe that has successfully introduced North Sumatra tourism to a culture that attracts the attention of the audience. This research aims to see how Ngeri-Ngeri Sedap movie can be a medium of communication in the field of tourism through the tourism storynomics approach. The theory used in this research is McLuhan's Media Ecology Theory. This research uses a qualitative approach with descriptive methods, and data collection techniques through interviews, observation, and documentation. The results of this study show that the elements of narrative, living culture, and culture in the Ngeri-Ngeri Sedap film have succeeded in becoming a tourism communication medium that can effectively reach and mobilize the public to visit tourist destinations and also be proud to preserve Batak culture as depicted in the film. Researchers also found factors such as cultural understanding, profession, and hobbies that influence the elements of narrative, living culture, and culture. Holbung Hill Tourism and Tarabunga Village managed to get an increase in visitors and had a significant impact on improving the economy of the local Bumdes. After the visit, visitors implement tourism storynomics on social media which has an impact on visitor participation in promoting tourist destinations again.

Abstract

The increasing prevalence of negative news in digital media has raised concerns about its psychological impacts, particularly on Generation Z (Gen Z), who are deeply immersed in digital technology. Media literacy is believed to play a crucial role in mitigating these impacts by enabling individuals to critically evaluate information. This study explores the influence of media literacy on the reception of negative news among Gen Z in Banda Aceh. Using a quantitative approach, data were collected from 281 respondents aged 1826 years through an online questionnaire. The data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) to evaluate the relationships between exposure to negative news, digital literacy, and information reception. The findings reveal that neither exposure to negative news nor the level of digital literacy significantly affects how Gen Z processes and interprets negative information. Despite the non-significant relationships, the study emphasizes the role of media literacy as a vital skill for Gen Z in critically filtering and assessing digital content. The study highlights the necessity of enhancing media literacy to foster resilience against the psychological risks posed by negative news in the digital ecosystem. By equipping Gen Z with critical thinking skills and digital competencies, individuals can better navigate the overwhelming flow of information in online media. Future research should further investigate the long-term effects of media literacy on psychological well-being and behavioral outcomes.

Abstract

Emotional mental disorders in adolescents are still an unresolved problem in Indonesia. This study intends to determine the effect of social media addiction on mental and emotional disorders in adolescents. The theoretical basis used is the theory of media dependence with a quantitative survey method approach. The data was processed using the IBM SPSS 25 program using the F and T tests. The results of the F test showed that F count (92.79) F table (3.87), so that simultaneously, the variable X has a significant effect on mental and emotional disorders (Y). The results of the T test show that addiction to social media (X1) has a t count (9.63) t table (1.968), so it has a significant effect on emotional and mental disorders. The results of the R Square test show that the adjusted R Square value is 0.241 (24%), meaning social media addiction affects mental and emotional disorders by 24% while the remaining 76% is explained by other variables.AbstrakGangguan mental emosional pada remaja masih menjadi permasalahan yang belum terselesaikan di Indonesia. Penelitian ini bermaksud mengetahui pengaruh kecanduan media sosial terhadap gangguan mental emosional pada remaja. Landasan teori yang digunakan yaitu teori ketergantungan media dengan pendekatan kuantitatif metode survei. Data diolah menggunakan program IBM SPSS 25 menggunakan Uji F dan uji T. Hasil Uji F menunjukkan bahwa F hitung (92,79) F tabel (3,87), sehingga secara simultan variabel X memberikan pengaruh signifikan terhadap gangguan mental emosional (Y). Hasil uji T menunjukkan bahwa kecanduan media sosial (X1) memiliki nilai t hitung (9,63) t tabel (1,968) sehingga berpengaruh signifikan terhadap gangguan mental emosional. Hasil uji R Square menunjukkan nilai adjusted R Square 0,241 (24%) berarti kecanduan media sosial mempengaruhi gangguan mental emosional sebesar 24% sedangkan sisa 76% dijelaskan oleh variabel lain.
