Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui produksi ruang sosial dalam perencanaan ruang terbuka hijau di Kota Banda Aceh. Ruang senantiasa akan mengalami perubahan, praktik dan persepsi keruangan dipengaruhi oleh nilai dan makna-makna sosial tersebut. Banda Aceh mulai berbenah dengan berupaya membuat kota gemilang, sejuk, indah dan nyaman dengan konsep “Green City”. Teori yang digunakan adalah teori produksi ruang sosial dari Henry Lafebvre. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif, dengan pendekatan deskriptif. Teknik pemilihan informan yang digunakan ialah teknik purposive sampling dengan jumlah 6 informan dalam penelitian ini. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan ialah wawancara terarah dan dokumentasi. Penelitian yang dilakukan memperoleh hasil bahwa, terjadinya produksi ruang sosial dalam perencanaan ruang terbuka hijau di Kota Banda Aceh dalam tiga proses dialektika yaitu pertama, secara praktik spasial adanya “pembongkaran urban” yakni masyarakat kelas menengah bahwa mengalami penggusuran dalam membangun konsep “Green City”. Kedua, representasi ruang, pemangku kebijakan mepresentasikan/mengkonsepkan ruang dalam bentuk wisata dan pendapatan daerah. Ketiga, ruang representasional, pro dan kontra masyakarat dalam menilai pembangunan ruang terbuka hijau di Kota Banda Aceh baik dalam segi estetika, lingkungan atau termaginalitas pendapatan ekonomi kelas menengah dalam penggunaan ruang tersebut. Kata Kunci : Perencanaan Ruang Terbuka Hijau, Produksi Ruang Sosial Sosiological Study Of Green Open Spatial Planning in Banda Aceh CityThis study aims to find out the production of social space in the planning of green open space in Banda Aceh. Space will always undergo changes, practices and perceptions of space influenced by the values and social meanings. Banda Aceh began to improve by trying to make the city resplendent, cool, beautiful and comfortable with the concept of "Green City". The theory used is the theory of social space production from Henry Lafebvre. This research is qualitative research, with descriptive approach. The informant selection technique used is purposive sampling technique with the number of 6 informants in this study. The data collection method used is interview and documentation. Based on the research that has been done, the results obtained that: the occurrence of marginalization and class-based segregation in the construction of green open space in the first city of Banda Aceh, spatially the existence of "urban demolition" that is a middle class society that undergoes eviction in building the concept of "Green City". Second, the representation of space, policy makers present / conceptualize space in the form of tourism and regional income. Third, representational space, pros and cons of society in assessing the development of green open space in Banda Aceh either in terms of aesthetics, environment or marginalized economic income of the middle class in the use of such space. Keywords : Green Open Space Planning, Social Space Production

Abstract

Thrifting is an activity of shopping for used clothes with foreign brands that is currently popular, especially among young people. This consumption behavior is carried out by one of them by students, they buy foreign branded clothing (branded) but with used conditions (Thrifting) because it is considered cheaper but has good quality so that it creates a lifestyle. This study aims to provide an overview of how consumption behavior is carried out by Pakuan Bogor University students in buying used branded clothing (Thrifting). The method used in this research is qualitative with a phenomenological approach. Selection of sources using purposive sampling method. Data collection techniques were carried out by observation, interviews and documentation. The theory used in analyzing the data is the theory of consumption society by Jean Baudrillard. The results of the study show that Thrifting is a form of consumptive behavior of students of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Pakuan University, Bogor. The form of consumptive behavior is thrifting. Thrifting is a routine part of consumption for Unpak students because every time there is a new trend they will look for these clothes by thrifting either online or coming directly to the thrifting store. Thrifting is chosen because it is considered to be able to reduce prices and the quality offered is not much different from local products with new conditions. In addition, the comfort when used away.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the fashion style among Syiah Kuala University students who follow the fashion trend of the postmodern era with the perspective of Modernization Theory as described by Anthony Giddens. The study uses a qualitative research method with phenomenology. Data was collected through non-participant observation, interviews with students as informants, and documentation. Data analysis used the analysis of lifestyle disorientation theory in the Postmodernism era. The study results show that Syiah Kuala University students have participated in the developing fashion trend, reflected in the fashion style in clothing and goods consumed as a reflection of self-appearance. The supporting factors for students to display this fashion style are increasingly sophisticated technology, modern cafes that continue to increase in the city of Banda Aceh, and social conformity

Abstract

As a foreign company, Tiens Group has been successful and well accepted by the people of Banda Aceh, a city known for the implementation of Syariah Islam. This study analysed how the company uses its social capital resulting in its acceptance by the host society that is strongly associated with Syariah Islam. This research uses sosial capital theory by Robert D. Putnam. It is a qualitative reseach. Data were collected through interview and participant observation. This research found that the company has utilized sosial capital and succeeded in achieving its targets and well accepted by the host society. The interplay of the three aspects of sosial capital namely norms, trust and networks have been influential in achieving success of the company. Norms has been a focal point in the formation of group identity. It is the values that give rise to a strong trust among its members. Trust is formed through a strong believe towards values and norms. Network is needed to bridge and help expand the company to people outside the company through new recruits (bridging sosial capital), while at the same time, network within the group, would eventually strengthen the norms and the trust system as well as the sense of solidarity and work ethics among the members (bonding sociap capital).

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the phenomenon of coffee shops in Banda Aceh through the lens of social entrepreneurship. Coffee shops focus on financial profitability and contribute to social impact through creative programs. Using Max Weber's social action theory, the research employs a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through in-depth interviews with coffee shop owners, documentation, and participatory observation. The findings reveal that the rapid growth of coffee shops in Banda Aceh reflects a shift in the community's coffee-drinking culture and their role as public spaces for working, learning, and creating. Additionally, the implementation of social entrepreneurship practices significantly contributes to local economic growth and the development of youth skills through activities such as workshops and mentorship programs. Thus, coffee shops in Banda Aceh have become not only part of the modern lifestyle but also catalysts for fostering social activities and youth empowerment while positively impacting the local creative economy.AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis fenomena coffee shop di Banda Aceh dari perspektif social entrepreneurship. Coffee shop tidak hanya berorientasi pada keuntungan finansial, tetapi juga berperan dalam memberikan dampak sosial melalui program-program kreatif. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik pengumpulan data berupa wawancara mendalam terhadap pemilik coffee shop, dokumentasi, dan observasi partisipatif. Analisis dilakukan menggunakan teori tindakan sosial Max Weber. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perkembangan pesat coffee shop di Banda Aceh tidak hanya mencerminkan perubahan budaya ngopi masyarakat, tetapi juga berfungsi sebagai ruang publik untuk bekerja, belajar, dan berkarya. Selain itu, praktik social entrepreneurship yang diterapkan memberikan kontribusi nyata terhadap pertumbuhan ekonomi lokal serta pengembangan keterampilan generasi muda melalui kegiatan seperti workshop dan mentorship. Dengan demikian, coffee shop di Banda Aceh tidak hanya menjadi bagian dari gaya hidup modern, tetapi juga berperan sebagai katalisator dalam mendukung aktivitas sosial dan pemberdayaan generasi muda, sekaligus memberikan dampak positif terhadap ekonomi kreatif di tingkat lokal.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze how habitus and social capital contribute to the success of BUMG Blang Krueng as a business unit, enabling it to achieve the title of the best BUMG at the national level in 2016. This study utilizes qualitative research methods. The data in this article were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The study indicates that there is a relationship between structure and agency in BUMG management. BUMG managers demonstrate creative habitus in planning, democratic habitus in organizing, sympathetic habitus in actuating, and firmness in controlling. In terms of social capital, BUMG Blang Krueng has established good relationships with universities, namely USK and UIN Ar-Raniry. This study confirms that habitus has an influence on various management functions and that social capital plays a significant role in the success of BUMG management.AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis bagaimana habitus dan modal sosial berkontribusi terhadap kesuksesan BUMG Blang Krueng sehingga dapat meraih gelar sebagai BUMG terbaik di tingkat nasional pada tahun 2016. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif. Data dalam artikel ini dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Kajian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan antara struktur dan agen dalam manajemen BUMG. Manajer BUMG menunjukkan Habitus kreatif dalam perencanaan (planning), Habitus demokratis dalam pengorganisasian (organizing), Habitus simpatik dalam penggerakan (actuating), dan ketegasan dalam pengendalian (controlling). Dalam hal modal sosial, BUMG Blang Krueng menjalin hubungan yang baik dengan universitas, yaitu USK dan UIN Ar-Raniry. Kajian ini menegaskan bahwa habitus memiliki pengaruh dalam berbagai fungsi manajemen dan modal sosial berperan peting dalam kesuksesan pengelolaan BUMG.

Abstract

This article aims to discuss the process of producing a new social space along the Krueng Aceh Peunayong river and Taman Sari in Banda Aceh. This article uses Lafebvre's social space production perspective with qualitative research methods. Informants are determined through the purposive sampling technique, and data collected through structured interviews. This study found that social space production in green urban space planning in Banda Aceh City follows three dialectical processes as assumed by Lefebvre's theory of social space production. First, middle to lower-class people experiences social eviction. New green urban spaces such as those on the Peunayong and Taman Sari rivers banks do not represent themselves as living spaces for all social levels. Second, policymakers have a dominant role in conceptualizing and representing new green urban spaces. Third, the image is constructed and perceived from views (visuals) and symbols (perceptual space). For the upper class, green urban spaces in Banda Aceh are a symbol of modernity and progress. For the lower class society, green open space is a representation of planned marginalization.AbstrakTulisan ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui proses produksi ruang sosial baru yaitu ruang terbuka hijau di bantaran sungai Krueng Aceh Peunayong dan Taman Sari di Kota Banda Aceh. Tulisan ini menggunakan frame teori produksi ruang sosial Henry Lafebvre. Penelitian ini mengikuti kerangka penelitian kualitatif. Informan ditentukan melalui teknik purposive sampling. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara terstruktur. Penelitian ini mendapati bahwa, produksi ruang sosial dalam perencanaan ruang terbuka hijau di Kota Banda Aceh mengikuti tiga proses dialektika, sebagaimana diasumsikan oleh teori produksi ruang sosial Lefebvre. Pertama, masyarakat kelas menengah ke bawah mengalami penggusuran secara social (pembongkaran urban). Ruang terbuka hijau baru seperti di bantaran sungai Peunayong dan Taman sari tidak merepresentasikan diri sebagai ruang yang hidup bagi semua lapisan masyarakat. Kedua, pemangku kebijakan memiliki peran yang dominan dalam mengonsepsikan dan merepresentasikan ruang terbuka hijau baru. Ketiga, citra dikonstruksikan dan dipersepsikan dari tampilan (visual) dan simbol (percieved spaces). Bagi masyarakat kelas atas, ruang terbuka hijau di kota Banda Aceh dianggap simbol kemodernan dan kemajuan. Bagi masyarakat bawah, ruang terbuka hijau adalah representasi marginalisasi yang terencana.

Abstract

The paper is an attempt to present fundamental underlying assumptions of development seen from an Islamic perpective and briefly examines some western approaches to development for comparison purposes. The paper holds that western perspective on development fails to understand the very nature of human as a material and non-material being. In Islamic perpective, however, development is seen as an integrated process within which includes the processes to build up a balanced nature of economic, social, environmental and spritual life. It is purposeful human endeavors intended to bring about real material benefits, visible social advantages, and spiritual satisfactions based on on the principle of unicity of God (Tawhid). Abstract

This paper examines the deficiency of western paradigm in potraying human nature and thus proposes that there is a need for paradigmatic shifting if islamic methodology and knowledge is desired. While western based paradigm is helpful in underlining socially tangible context of human life, it fails to undestand human in its very nature. Those paradigms see human as, and confined to a mere bodily mundane creature but denying human intangible side, that human too is a spritual being. As a result, and due to differing principal and idiological standpoint, western paradigm is deemed inappropriate to grasp a full view of human nature as oppose to that of Islamic Tawhidic paradigm that sees human, by nature, as a material and non-material being. Hence, the Islamic paradigm is considered as an only paradigm applicable to, and suits the need of Islamic methodology in order to be able to produce Islamic knowledge.
