Abstract

Introduction: Direct observation of people who live above the sea, there are people who do not use soap when cleaning themselves because they bathe directly in the sea and they throw their garbage at sea. This is because people's knowledge is still lacking regarding their actions in throwing garbage at sea so that it makes the sea polluted where sea water is used for personal hygiene including washing and there are 70% of people using septic tanks openly that go directly to the sea. Method: The design used by the researcher is pre-experimental using a pretest-posttest model with the aim of finding the effect of focus group discussion. The population as many as 82 people and the number of samples as many as 68 people with sampling using random sampling. Result: Earned p-value = 0.000 < 0.05 Ho is rejected, this shows that Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted which means that there is an influence of knowledge through giving Focus Group Discussion and value 0.000 <0.05 which means that there is a significant influence between attitudes towards giving focus group discussion (FGD) in an effort to prevent dermatitis in the Bajo community in the Wawonii Health Center Work Area. Conclusion: There is a significant influence between knowledge and attitudes through treatment focus group discussion on the prevention of dermatitis in the Bajo community in the working area of the Wawonii Public Health Center

Abstract

Introduction: The spread of hypertension in the world is a challenge in efforts to improve public health status. Preliminary studies were conducted on 10 patients with hypertension in the working area of the Mata Health Center, the results showed that the majority of hypertension sufferers were caused by genetics and lifestyle. Excessive sodium consumption and lack of activity due to the pandemic make them more often at home and often consume junk food and fast food. This attracted researchers to research the Effect of Giving Moringa Leaf Extract (Moringa oliefera) on the Incidence of Hypertension in the Working Area of the Mata Health Center of Kendari City. Method: Quantitative research with a quasi-experimental research design, namely the one-group pre-test-post-test-control design approach. The population is 580 people and the sample is 137 people with hypertension, some of whom are outpatients. Data analysis using the Wilcoxon test with a significance level of α = 0,05. Result: Before being given treatment (Pretest) namely Moringa leaf extract (Moringa oleifera I) the average blood pressure was 142,05 while after treatment (Posttest) it was 171,45. Conclusion: There is an effect of giving Moringa leaf extract (Moringa oleifera) on the incidence of hypertension in the working area of the Mata Health Center in Kendari City.

Abstract

Background: ARI is one of the diseases with a fairly high mortality and mortality rate, the housing environment in particular is very influential on the immune system. Housing that is dirty, cramped, crowded, and does not have adequate clean water facilities will cause children to be often infected by germs that come from dirty places and eventually get various infectious diseases. Houses that do not have enough clean air flow and whose residents are often found in the kitchen accumulated in the house will be susceptible to ARI. Methods: The type of research uses a quantitative research design with a cross sectional study design with a total sample of 95 respondents. Results: There is a relationship between residential density, home environment and immunization with the incidence of ARI in children under five in the coastal area of the working area of the Kolono Health Center and Tumbujaya Health Center, Kolono District and East Kolono District, South Konawe Regency. Conclusion: Factors related to ARI in toddlers include residential density, home environment, and immunization.

Abstract

Introduction: The prevalence of DM at the Unaaha Health Center in 2017 was 1.12 per 1000 population, increased by 2018 to 2.4 per 1000 population and increased in 2019 by 4.6 per 1000 population. The purpose of this study was to determine the risk factors for the incidence of type 2 diabetes mellitus in women of childbearing age at the Unaaha Public Health Center. Methods: This type of research is quantitative with a case control study design. The population is all women of childbearing age who as 378 people. The case sample is women of childbearing age who suffer from DM as many as 62 people taken by simple random sampling technique and the control sample is women of childbearing age who does not suffer from DM as many as 62 people taken by matching technique. Data analyzed by Chi-square test and Odd Ratio (OR) test. Results: The results of the chi-square test and OR for obesity p-value of 0.001 < (0.05) and OR = 3.561, for eating habits obtained p-value of 0.004 < (0.05) and OR = 3.214 as well as for blood pressure obtained p-value 0.000 < (0.05) and OR = 6.741. Conclusion: Obesity, eating habits, and blood pressure are risk factors for type 2 diabetes. Suggestions for the next researchers to conduct experimental research by implementing innovations that can reduce blood pressure and blood glucose levels in patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus.

Abstract

Background: Diabetes mellitus is a metabolic disorder characterized by the body's inability to use glucose, fat, and protein due to insulin deficiency or insulin resistance, which results in increased blood glucose. Diabetes mellitus attacks all groups of people in the world and should be addressed in order to reduce the prevalence of type 2 diabetes mellitus. Sleep quality is a person's satisfaction with sleep so that a person does not show feelings of fatigue, easily aroused and restless, lethargy and apathy, blackness around the eyes, swollen eyelids, red conjunctiva, sore eyes, fragmented attention, headaches, and frequent yawning or drowsiness. Objective: This study aimed to determine the relationship between sleep quality and blood glucose levels in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus at Kendari City Hospital. Methods: This study was a quantitative study with a cross-sectional design. The sample was 68 respondents. This study employed purposive sampling. Results: The Fisher's Exact Test showed a p-value of 0.000. This means that there was a relationship between sleep quality and blood glucose levels in type 2 DM patients. To determine the magnitude of the relationship between variables that have chi-square, a phi coefficient (φ) test was carried out with a result of φ 0.627, which means that the relationship between sleep quality and blood glucose levels in type 2 diabetes mellitus patients was statistically significant. Conclusion: Sleep quality significantly affects blood glucose levels in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus.
