Abstract

Pendidikan dapat diperoleh dimana saja seperti melalui lembaga pendidikan formal maupun nonformal. Pendidikan yang diperoleh melalui lembaga formal didapatkan dari instansi pendidikan seperti sekolah ataupun kampus. Sedangkan Pendidikan nonformal dapat diperoleh dari seminar, workshop ataupun pelatihan. Berdasarkan survei yang dilakukan Tim Pengabdian Masyarakat di lingkungan Rt. 14 Perumnas Aurduri terdapat ikatan pemuda yang pada umumnya mahasiswa yang sedang mengenyam Pendidikan Tinggi (PT) yang berada pada tingkat akhir (Semester 7-8) di kota Jambi. Berdasarkan wawancara kepada Ketua Ikatan Pemuda Rt.14 Perumnas Aurduri Kota Jambi, statistik merupakan mata kuliah yang pada umumnya mereka dapatkan di bangku perkuliahan. Namun kendalanya, ketika berada di tingkat akhir mereka mengalami kesulitan dalam melaksanakan penelitian saat mengolah dan menganalisis data statistika serta menyajikan informasi yang mudah dipahami cepat dan tepat. Oleh karena itu diadakan pelatihan peningkatan kemampuan analisis data penelitian menggunakan Software SPSS. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peserta antusias mengikuti pelatihan sebesar 86,36% dan memahami cara analisis data penelitian menggunakan Software SPSS 81,81% dan mampu menganalisis data penelitian lebih efektif dan efisien sebesar 77,27%.

Abstract

Ethnomathematics is an approach that connects mathematical concepts with elements of local culture. In this context, education and culture are closely interrelated in shaping students’ understanding of mathematics. This study aims to explore mathematical concepts embedded in Ratoh Jaroe Dance, a traditional dance from Aceh, and its potential to support mathematics learning in schools. A qualitative method with an ethnographic approach was employed, involving observation, interviews, and documentation as data collection techniques. Data were analyzed through data reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that the activities in Ratoh Jaroe Dance reflect ethnomathematical practices such as counting, measuring, pattern design, and spatial positioning. Identified mathematical concepts include geometry, set theory, and transformation. The implementation of these findings in extracurricular activities at SMAN 28 Tangerang Regency had a positive impact by enhancing students’ ability to relate mathematics to local culture and encouraging creative thinking.

Abstract

This qualitative descriptive study aims to describe students' mathematical literacy skills in solving Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) questions on matrix material. The method used in this research is qualitative method. The subjects of this study were 6 students of class XI IPA SMA Al-Azhar Jambi. The instrument used is the initial ability test which contains 5 items, the Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) written test which contains 3 essay questions and interview guidelines. Data analysis techniques include domain, taxonomy and componential analysis. The results of this study are: 1) It shows that all subjects meet the communication indicators (except S6), S1, S2, S3, S4 almost meet the indicators of mathematization, problem solving strategies and the use of formal and symbolic language, technical and operational languages, S5 and S6 do not meet the three indicators, and 2) the factors that affect mathematical literacy skills are: students' perceptions of the importance of mathematics, self-confidence in mathematical abilities, teacher quality in teaching, teacher character in teaching, models, media, strategies, approaches used in teaching, learning, limited time in working, level of HOTS questions and student interest in solving problems.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Literacy is one of the most important skills in learning mathematics in this century. Students who have good literacy skills will be able to formulate and solve problems that exist in everyday life, perform mathematical manipulations and then provide interpretations as answers to these problems. This study aims to see the mathematical literacy ability of students in solving elementary linear algebra problems, especially on matrix material. The research method used is descriptive method with a qualitative approach. The data analysis technique uses Spradley theory, namely domain analysis with test results, taxonomic analysis through interviews and componential analysis, namely comparing the results obtained with previous research. The results of the study, it was found that students with high-level mathematical abilities had met the three indicators of mathematical literacy ability. Students with moderate ability levels fulfill the first indicator, but the second and third indicators are only partially fulfilled. Meanwhile, students with low levels of ability have not met the three indicators. This research is expected to provide an overview of students' mathematical literacy skills and as a consideration for choosing the right learning strategies so that students' literacy skills can increase.

Abstract

Kriptografi merupakan salah satu cabang ilmu bidang matematika terapan memiliki banyak manfaat dalam perkembangan teknologi. Dalam penerapannya, kriptografi digunakan untuk pengiriman pesan rahasia, Automatis Teller Machine (ATM), penggunaan ATM untuk banking, bahkan mulai meningkat menjadi internet banking, mobile banking, komunikasi elektronik seperti telepon tetap, seluler, sms, dan mms. Di sisi lain, Pembelajaran Matematika Realistik di sekolah sangat diharapkan untuk dapat diterapkan mengingat pentignya hasil dari pembelajaran tersebut dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Materi Modulo merupakan salah satu topik dalam bidang matematika aljabar yang dalam memahami konsepnya dapat dibantu dengan menerapkan kriptografi Hill Cipher dan Ceasar Cipher. Dengan demikian pembelajaran matematika realistik dapat tereallisasi di kelas dengan media yang sederhana, yaitu pengiriman pesan rahasia atau kriptografi
