Abstract

In todays dynamic business environment, the competition is no longer between firm, but between supply chains to gain competitive advantages. The trends have made industrial practitioners focusing more on the key factors influencing the performance of the supply chain operation. The powers of relational capability in managing supply chain have gained an incredible attention from researchers and practitioners because of the benefits of supply chain performance. However, the influences of organizational culture capability is equally critical for supply chain performance to keep growing. This paper makes an initial attempt to identify the critical success factors of supply chain operational performance amongst textile and apparel companies in Malaysia. The total of 201 questionnaires were sent to Malaysia's textile and apparel company that is listed in the Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers (FMM) and Malaysian External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) directory. The total of 121 usable responses were obtained and analyzed through Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS). The discussion of this study is followed by presenting the results of survey on the relationship of relational capability and organizational culture capability on supply chain operational performance. The results shown that the relationship between relational capability and organizational culture capability have significant impact on the performance of supply chain operation.

Abstract

As one of the important determinants of the health of the global economy, small and medium enterprises (SMEs) are responsible for several environmental degradations. The increase in resource consumption, climate change, biodiversity, water scarcity, and demographic changes and instability triggered society to consider sustainability issues. One of the operational initiatives related to sustainability is lean manufacturing (LM), which has become an imperative factor of organizational excellence in today’s volatile competitive market. However, it remains a critical question, does it positively affect corporate sustainability? This quantitative cross-sectional study examined the impact of LM on the triple bottom line (3BL) dimensions. A total of 159 manufacturing SMEs in Malaysia participated in this study. The analysis using the structural equation modeling (SEM) approach evidenced that the holistic implementation of LM practices contributes positively to all dimensions of 3BL. It implied that in order to enhance sustainability performance, SMEs should adopt the LM concepts holistically. This paper extends the boundary of knowledge by lessening the existing gaps in the literature to support the notion of potential implications LM on sustainability. Practitioners could grab benefits by understanding the critical initiatives and strategies towards the future sustainability of their businesses.

Abstract

Previous studies indicated that the autonomous maintenance barrier factors are affected the maintenance efficiency. However, most of these studies were conducted in the service industry but not in the manufacturing industry. Therefore, the purpose of this research is to identify the most critical barrier factors towards maintenance efficiency and also to identify the relationship between autonomous maintenance barrier factors and maintenance efficiency in manufacturing industries. Five research hypotheses were examined while considering the autonomous maintenance barrier factors which including lack of top management commitment, lack of training, lack of maintenance knowledge, resistance by employees, and lack of tools and instrument. The findings of this study revealed that lack of tools and instrument is the most critical barrier factor. This quantitative case study is crucial to the manufacturing industry in Malaysia because it provides a broad insight into the correlation between the autonomous maintenance barrier factor and maintenance efficiency.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to review past, current research trends and predict future research directions. This review uses a bibliometric approach involving 1,787 journal articles retrieved from the Web of Science database. This study conducted co-citation, bibliographic coupling and co-word analyses to determine past, current and future research trends. Past research trends focused on the development of sustainable development goals systems and policies in higher education institutions. In the present, research trends focus on the role of technology, evaluation, and the impact of sustainability transformation in higher education institutions. In the future, this study emphasizes significant changes in education, its impact on the external environment, the creation of sustainability-based curricula and practical skills in higher education institutions. This study will benefit researchers, practitioners and the community by increasing the understanding and implementation of sustainable development goals in higher education institutions.

Abstract

This study aims to uncover previous research flows and predict future research directions related to research trends on green campuses in Southeast Asia. This review uses a bibliometric approach using 1,761 journals from WoS. Two science mapping approaches (i.e., co-citation analysis and co-word analysis) are conducted to investigate past research trends and future research directions on green campuses. The trend of articles in the past has focused on sustainability in higher education environments by considering behavioral factors that influence technology adoption. In the future, articles on green campuses in Southeast Asia will emphasize management frameworks and student engagement, as well as managing renewable energy systems in sustainable practices. This study will benefit researchers, practitioners, and the public by enhancing understanding and implementing sustainability on green campuses in Southeast Asia. In the future, this article will emphasize a sustainable framework through renewable energy, sustainable behavior, collaboration, and operational management. This study provides valuable insights into green campuses, particularly in Southeast Asia, with guidance for policies and interventions that encourage behaviors to reduce environmental impacts. The article promotes sustainable practices and emphasizes the role of green campuses in shaping an environmentally conscious generation.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the recurring inability of auditors to detect fraud, despite the prevalence of financial scandals that have drawn significant public and professional scrutiny. In response to this concern, the research investigates the influence of heuristics, fraud risk indicators (commonly referred to as red flags), and professional skepticism on auditors’ effectiveness in identifying fraudulent activity. Particular attention is given to professional skepticism as a potential moderating factor in these relationships. A cross-sectional quantitative approach was employed, involving survey data collected from 143 auditors working in public accounting firms across Indonesia. The data were analyzed using partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM). The results indicate that heuristics, red flags, and professional skepticism each exert a positive effect on auditors’ fraud detection capabilities. Moreover, the analysis reveals that professional skepticism amplifies the impact of heuristics but does not significantly moderate the relationship between red flags and fraud detection. These findings underscore the importance of audit training that cultivates both intuitive and analytical reasoning, as well as the need for regulatory structures that reinforce the consistent application of professional skepticism in practice.
