Abstract

Poultry commodities that have the greatest potential to be developed are broiler chickens, because the growth is so fast that the maintenance period is relatively short. One important environmental factor to pay attention is maintenance management, especially housing. High cage density causes chicken body weight gain to be smaller compared to low cage density, so research needs to be done to find out how much the ideal density of cage. The research design used was a completely randomized design (CRD) with 3 treatments and 3 replications. P1 is 8 chickens/m2, P2 (10 chickens/m2), and P3 (12 chickens/m2). There are 9 cages and 90 broilers used. The level of cage density gave no significant effect (P>0.05) on the weight and percentage of carcass parts of broilers aged 5 weeks. of all the variables, there was a tendency for an increase in yield in the treatment of cage density of 10 m2/broiler chickens maintained for 5 weeks (P>0.05). From the results of this study it can be concluded that the density of the cage has no effect on the weight and percentage of carcass parts of broiler chickens aged 5 weeks. It can also be recommended to farmers to use cage density of 12 chickens/m2 in the maintenance of broiler chickens aged 5 weeks because they are still able to produce weight and percentage of good carcass parts

Abstract

The need for animal protein originating from native chickens is increasing over time. One of the obstacles that farmers often face in raising broiler chickens is the cost of feed. That feed costs are 60-70% of total production costs. Japanese papaya leaves are one of the substitute feeds that can be given to native chickens. However, Japanese papaya leaves must be fermented first. The nutritional content of Japanese papaya leaves in 100 grams, namely: water 85 ml, protein 5.7 grams, iron 11.4 mg, phosphorus 39 mg, calcium 199 mg, potassium 217 mg, vitamin C 165 mg, flavonoids (23.72 %) alkaloids (17.45%), saponins (12.49%) and tannins (5.72%). This research was carried out in two stages, namely in the field and the laboratory, using a completely randomised design with five treatments and three replications, each containing five chickens. The five treatments are Ration, adding 0%,6%,12%,18% and 24% fermented papaya leaf flour. After harvest, chemical analysis of native chicken meat will be conducted at the Basic Laboratory of the Faculty of Agriculture, Warmadewa University. Adding fermented Japanese papaya leaf flour to native chicken feed does not affect the meat quality of native chickens. However, it tends to increase the protein content of the meat even though statistically, it has no significant effect. Using the fermentation method, utilising agricultural waste can improve the quality of feed ingredients.

Abstract

Horticultural commodities, especially ornamental plants, have high economic value in the market. It is necessary to research the introduction of appropriate technology in increasing the intensity of chrysanthemum cultivation such as the use of domestically created organic fertilizers and Trichoderma, which are formulated with local resources in chrysanthemums to improve quality and added value and utilize the potential of agricultural resources that are easy to apply following the ability of farmers and have a real impact on increasing income. The purpose of this research is to obtain a package of organic matter and Trichoderma that is suitable for the agro-climate, thus farmers will be interested in adopting the technology and developing it widely into their production system. The method used is field research in a greenhouse using a factorial randomized block design, with two factors that will be used to achieve the goal, namely the use of various types of organic fertilizers and the administration of Trichoderma doses. If the single treatment has a significant or very significant effect, then continue with the 5% BNT average value test, whereas if there is an interaction between the two factors, it is tested with Duncan't 5%. Based on the results of the study, all types of organic fertilizers, namely organic cow manure, organic pig manure, and organic goat manure combined with Trichoderma were able to suppress rust disease in chrysanthemums and increase the production and quality of chrysanthemums. Goat dung fertilizer and a dose of 5 tons-ยน ha of Trichoderma tended to produce flower stalk height, flower stalk weight, stem diameter, flower diameter, economical flower fresh weight and resulted in the lowest percentage of leaves affected by rust disease.

Abstract

The market value of horticultural products, particularly ornamental plants, is quite high. It is necessary to conduct research on the introduction of appropriate technology for increasing the intensity of chrysanthemum cultivation, such as the use of chrysanthemum leaf messenger and a combination of manure, which is formulated with local resources in chrysanthemum flowers to improve quality and add value and utilize the potential of agricultural resources that are easy to apply based on the capacity of farmers and have a real impact on increasing income. This study's objective was to determine the optimal concentration of chrysanthemum leaves and the optimal combination of manure for enhancing the production and quality of chrysanthemums. Using a Factorial Randomized Block Design, field research is conducted in a greenhouse using two factors: the dosage of defoliated chrysanthemum leaves and a mixture of manure. The obtained data were statistically analyzed using the ANOVA test. If the effect of a single treatment is genuine or very real, the average value test is continued. Least significant difference (LSD) is 5%, whereas Duncan's 5% indicates an interaction between the two factors tested. The treatment of defoliated leaves had a real to very real effect on all variables, with the exception of stem diameter, whereas the combination treatment of organic fertilizers had a real to very real effect on all variables. The interaction between the quantity of defoliated leaves and the combination of organic fertilizer has no significant effect on all variables. The administration of a dose of 5 tons/ha and the combined use of goat manure and pig manure increased the length of the flower stalk, the weight of the flower stalk, the diameter of the stem, the diameter of the flower, the fresh weight of the most cost-effective flowers, and the proportion of leaves infected with rust. According to SNI 01-4478-88, the chrysanthemums produced in this investigation are of quality class A.
