Abstract

Pneumonia is a chafing lung caused by all kinds of aetiology such as bacterium, virus, fungi and foreign object.(1) Every year the pneumonia kills over 2 million children in the world. It is more of the children’s death than a malaria, a threw and a brittle syndrome of body’s impenetrability (AIDS).(2) Pneumonia represents cause of the death on number three after cardiovascular and tuberculosis in Indonesia. Patient’s pneumonia data on infant in Hospital of Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang in 2007 has as much as 303 patients and in 2007 as much as 308 patients. The research purpose is to know the relationship among mother’s knowledge, attitude and action of pneumonia occurrence to an infant on a pediatric room in Hospital of Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang. This research type is analytic research by using crosscut device planning (conducted in a certain deadline) or cross sectional. That is made by approach, observation and data collecting at one blow. Research population is taken on the whole mother who has infant’s pneumonia treatment. And in the other hand, sample of research is mother who has infant’s pneumonia treatment in Hospital of Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang. Research result shows that there is a relationship between mother’s knowledge and pneumonia occurrence on infants based on Chi Square Test by Pvalue 0,043. There is a relationship between mother’s attitude and pneumonia occurrence on infant by Pvalue 0,02 and there is a relationship between mother’s action a pneumonia occurrence by Pvalue 0,027 on a pediatric room in Hospital of Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang in 2008. The author suggests in not only a health counseling improvement of pneumonia but also given the information by a pamphlet and a poster in Hospital of Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang.

Abstract

Background: Hypertension is one of the non-communicable diseases (PTM) which is currently increasing both prevalence and incidence, especially in the elderly group. Hypertension is a systolic blood pressure of more than 140 mmHg and a diastolic pressure of more than 90 mmHg. Methods: This case study uses a descriptive design with a nursing process approach. This research was conducted on March 7, 2022 to March 11, 2022. The number of samples used was 2 people with 4 consecutive days of action. The research was conducted in the Working Area of the Merdeka Health Center in Palembang. Results: The results showed that after the action of progressive muscle relaxation therapy for 4 days, there was a change in the pain scale from pain scale 4 to 2 in client 1 and client 2 from pain scale 5 to pain scale 2. Conclusion: The results of the study indicate that there are changes in the headache scale of hypertensive patients before and after progressive muscle relaxation therapy for 4 days with a time of approximately 15 minutes.

Abstract

Ergonomic risk factors for weaving workers are generally caused by repetitive work, long working period, wrong awkward work and work positions. The objective study was to assess the ergonomic risk level of weaving workers at weaving industry centers. This study was an observational study with a cross-sectional design, using the REBA methods. This study was conducted in April - September 2019 at the weaving industry center in Palembang. Ergonomics risk assessment is carried out at the stages of the weaving process starting from the yarn coloring, spinning, yarn winding, yarn insertion in the yarn rack, twisting, milling, winding the yarn after it has been rolled and the weaver. Data were collected using REBA worksheets, observation and documentation. Furthermore, the data were analyzed based on the scores from the REBA table. The results of the ergonomics risk assessment using REBA scores at each stage of the process with the following details: in the warp yarn process the final score of 9 (high risk), the final score of 9 (high risk), handling (final score 11 = very high risk), punishment (final score 11 = very high risk), twisting (final score 9 = high risk), slashing (final score 7 = moderate risk), palletizing (final score 9 = high risk) and weaving process (final score 9 = high risk). The level of ergonomic risk for weaving workers in Palembang was moderate, high and very high risk, so it is necessary to immediately repair the equipment, especially the equipment for the weaving process.

Abstract

Fever is a prevalent illness among children. Physical cooling interventions worsen the child’s condition as a result of parents’ anxiety and misconceptions about fever. This study aims to identify parental physical cooling intervention as fever management for feverish children in the scientific literature. The study adhered to the guidelines in the preferred reporting items for systematic reviews and meta-analyses (PRISMA). The investigations were conducted within scientific electronic databases: ProQuest, PubMed, Scopus, EBSCO, Google Scholar, and Cochrane, published in English, from January 2013 to August 2023. Authors screened articles for inclusion. After exclusion, there were ten studies included in the analysis with 15,488 participants. The literature review demonstrated that the physical cooling methods employed for home fever management were taking off excess clothes, providing extra fluid, warm compresses, sponging, showering and environmental measures. Sponging techniques and cold compresses are popular among parents. However, the methods have negative effects and are not recommended. Effective fever management optimizes the body's physiological response by ensuring adequate hydration, nutrition, and a conducive environment. When the fever worsens, parents should consider seeking medical treatment.

Abstract

Household organic waste contributes significantly to total domestic waste in Indonesia, especially in riverbank communities. This community service activity was conducted in 3-4 Ulu Urban Village, Palembang, aiming to improve public awareness and behavior regarding household waste management, particularly organic waste. The participatory approach involved community members, health cadres, and Puskesmas staff through education sessions, video screenings, and demonstrations of waste sorting between organic and inorganic materials. Pre- and post-tests showed improvements in knowledge, attitudes, and practices related to waste management. Weekly monitoring over three weeks confirmed gradual changes in community behavior toward cleaner environments. The program's success was supported by the active involvement of community leaders and health workers. This initiative demonstrates that community-based and practical education is effective in promoting sustainable waste management behaviors and reducing the environmental health risks associated with poor sanitation. This program can be replicated in other riverbank areas with similar challenges.

Abstract

Background: The market is one of the public places with many visitors and the activities of traders and sellers in the market, which indirectly cause waste in the market every day. Most markets produce market waste consisting of wet and dry waste so that during collection, the piles of waste become nests for flies, rats, and insects and become a source of soil, water, and air contamination, and from an aesthetic point of view, they will cause odors and bad views; therefore, it is necessary to manage market waste properly. Purpose: Knowing the handling of waste and the level of fly density in the traditional market of Palembang City in 2023. Methods: This research is descriptive, by means of survey or observation regarding waste handling. The measurement point of fly density was done diagonally with 5 points/market. The total number of points for the four markets is 20 measurement points. Results: The results showed that the sorting of market waste did not meet the requirements, the majority of waste collection did not meet the requirements, waste collection met the requirements, and waste processing did not meet the requirements. The highest average fly density in Pasar Kuto was at point 5 (back left) with an average fly density of 8.2 flies/grill block. Conclusion: Waste handling in 4 Palembang City Traditional Markets is not fully qualified, and the density of flies exceeds the vector quality standard
