Abstract

During the period of 29 years, the Central Java Provincial Government has implemented strategic research formulation for flood reduction efforts. One solution for flood management is building a dam. The built dam has the potential to generate electricity. The purpose of the activity is to analyze the turbine speed triangle from the results of the technical design. The method used is the analysis of the turbine speed triangle at an entry angle of 12-14°. The results of the triangle analysis obtained show the F value at 14-12° of 34695.5, 34761.6, and 34847.7 N.m. Torque at 14° were 5313, 5320, and 5330 N.m. Torque at 13° were 5363, 5370, and 5380 N.m. Torque 12° were 5401, 5409, and 5418 N.m. P at 14-12° were 641.5, 642.9, and 644.1 kW. The efficiency of ηo and ηm is 0.90 % and 0.95 %. The conclusion of the application of the turbine speed triangle analysis at an angle of 4-6° is that the optimum turbine efficiency is at an opening angle of 12° with the ability to increase turbine power by 14.79 % and efficiency by 14.66 %.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between mental toughness and academic achievement among junior high school student-athletes. This study uses a quantitative approach, using a survey to assess mental toughness and academic achievement. The participants of the study were 109 student-athletes from state junior high schools 18 and 2 Bengkulu City. The findings of the study indicate that student-athletes have mental toughness in the moderate category, and the academic achievement of student-athletes is in a good category. From the results of statistical analysis using SPSS version 22, it is known that there is no relationship between mental toughness and academic achievement among junior high school student-athletes (sig.636 > 0.05). However, the findings show that student-athletes with more mental toughness tend to show higher levels of academic achievement. This study highlights the importance of developing mental toughness not only for sports but also for academic success. This study offers insights for educators, coaches, and policymakers to strive to improve athletic performance and educational outcomes in junior high schools.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the professionalism of prospective physical education teachers viewed from eight teaching skills. This research is a quantitative descriptive study with the primary focus of the study being to analyze the professionalism of prospective physical education teachers in terms of eight teaching skills. The population in this study was 83 prospective physical education teachers who attended micro teaching lectures in the even semester of the 2024/2025 academic year. A purposive sampling technique was used for this study. The selected sample had met the established criteria, namely: attending lectures more than 80% or at least 13 meetings, and being willing to be a research sample. Based on these criteria, there were 53 prospective physical education teachers. The data collection technique used a questionnaire consisting of thirty statements. Data was analyzed using percentages with five categories. The results of this study indicate that the teaching skills of prospective physical education teachers are at a good to excellent level, particularly in the areas of providing reinforcement, asking questions, and managing the classroom. However, the aspect of guiding small group discussions still requires special attention in coaching to ensure more equitable learning quality across all teaching skill indicators. It can be concluded that prospective physical education teachers are professional, as seen from the eight teaching skills.
